Nehemiah – and the Wisdom

He in Persia as a Hebrew when the message contacted him that the Temple of Holy city was being imitated. He pushed toward getting to be on edge knowing there was no divider to check the city. He welcomed The Lord to utilize him to spare the city. The Lord watched out for his petition by releasing up the focal point of the Persian ruler, Artaxerxes, who gave his underwriting, yet additionally supplies to be utilized in the errand. He is given consent by the lord to come back to Holy city, where he is made representative.

Notwithstanding restriction and charges the divider was manufactured and the foes quieted. The local people, moved by him, give tithes of much cash, supplies and work to finish the divider in a striking fifty-two days, paying little respect to much resistance. This united exertion is flashing, regardless, in light of the way that Holy city falls again into renunciation when He leaves for a long time. When he came back to Holy city, He found the dividers solid in any case the local people powerless. He set about the endeavor of exhibiting the local people moral quality and he didn't mince messages. "I battled with those individuals, put condemns on them, hit some of them and hauled out their hair" (13:25). He restores confirmed love through supplication and by urging the local people to recovery by looking at and holding snappy to the Message of The Lord.

He was a man of prayer and he prayed vivaciously for his people. His enthusiastic intervention for The Lord's people envisions our phenomenal Intercessor, Jesus Christ, who prayed seriously for His people in His high-religious prayer in John 17. Both He and Jesus had a replicating love for The Lord's people which they spilled out in prayer to The Lord, intervening for them before the situation of power.

Communication

[Name of the Writer]

[Name of the Institution]

How did it feel?

I started conversation with one of my classmate in which she was talking more, and I was focused more on listening her. After a while, I felt like listening is more worthy than speaking as at the time of listening one could pay more attention about exactly what is happening, what as speaker wants to say intentionally and unintentionally, by noticing her postures. One important thing that I felt after focusing more upon the speaker’s words is that one can gain much more by simply listening others than he could be speaking. As one is going to express what he already knows while talking, but by listening one may learn what he did not know earlier.

Is this what you normally do or was it foreign to you?

It was not something I used to do all the time, as many times I only focus on the topics that look appealing to me. It was something foreign to me as I used to focus only on the things that are of my interest otherwise I don’t pay much attention to all the speakers.

Did the other person notice you were listening more?

Yes, the other person noticed that I was paying more attention to her words than I usually do. Because I was not talking much and was concentrating more upon the way of talking of the other participant and the content that she was delivering during our conversion.

Should you listen more than you usually do? Why?

Yes, I should listen more than usual and focus each word that one utters. I should pay more attention to the speaker because when a speaker would talk about an issue, I would be having more things to consider that I may skip otherwise. Paying more attention to other’s word would increase my critical thinking as well.

Should you listen less than you normally do?

No, I should not listen less than I usually do as I am a kind of average listener, who pays neither less nor more attention than needed. I should not listen less as if I am going do so I won’t be able to understand others.

Hugh Blair

[Name of the Institution]

Hugh Blair

Introduction

Hugh Blair is a well-known rhetorician, author, and former Scottish minister of religion. He was born on 7 April 1718. Hugh Blair is considered to be one of the first great theorists of written discourse. The teachings of Blair had a significant impact in both the secular and spiritual realms. Blair was a great scholar, and his work at the University of Edinburgh as the occupant of the Chair of Rhetoric and Belles Letters, and as a minister of the Church of Scotland has made him one of the few great personalities to be remembered. Blair’s teachings are best known for Sermons, and he was considered to be a valuable part of the Scottish Enlightenment.

Chronology Of Works

Defundamentis et Obilgatione in the year 1739

The Works of Shakespeare in the year 1753

Review of Francis Hutcheson’s in the year 1755

Observation on a Pamphlet in the year 1755

Preface to James Macpherson in the year 1760

A critical dissertation on the Poems of Ossian, the Son of Fingal in the year 1763

5 volumes of Sermons from 1777 to 1801.

3 volumes of Lectures on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres in the year 1783

Major Works

There are basically three major works for which Blair is well known for, and these may include the Poems of Ossian, Lectures on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres, and Son of Fingal; Sermons. On the other hand, Blair gave very little attention to other works throughout his life. A number of anonymously works had been done by Blair among which the most important is considered to be the eight-volume edition of Shakespeare’s work which was edited by Blair.

A Critical Dissertation on the Poems of Ossian

The previous work of Blair was not published and was not well known, but in the year 1763, the first well known openly authored publication of Blair was seen as "A Critical Dissertation on the Poems of Ossian." In the Celtic poetry of the Scottish Highlands, Blair took a long interest and is notable for writing a laudatory account of the poems of Ossian. When it comes to the Christian communication leaders, Blair has maintained his name on top by serving as the voice of authority on the legitimacy of the poems. The Fragments of Ancient Poetry was published upon the urge of Blair to his friend James Macpherson. The dissertation appeared after 1765 in almost all of the Ossian's publication for giving the work credibility.

Sermons

In the year 1777, first five-volume series Sermons were published by Blair. As a Presbyterian preacher, he promoted the practical Christian morality which is considered to be a compilation of the sermons. The success of Sermons is parallel with the success of Blair as a preacher regardless of the declining popularity of religious teaching during that time. Although, it cannot be denied that the oral delivery of Blair was quite poor which was often described as a ‘burr.' However, one thing that must be taken into consideration is the fact that Blair was considered to be the most popular preacher in Scotland. The success of Blair is credited to the ease which allows the audience to follow his organized and polite style.

Blair’s position reflects through Sermons. The position which is reflected is of a member of the moderate party. It has been observed that through a number respects, Blair was a socially conservative type of a person. His beliefs were totally against the radical change, and his teachings were safe and were more prepared for the upper classes. In his rejection of Calvinistic doctrines, he also had liberal tendencies demonstrated such as damnation, total corruption, and original sin.

The main focus of Sermons is not on the questions of theology, but on the morality. Moreover, it tends to emphasize the moral virtue, actions in the public sphere, and patriotism by polite secular culture. The main aim of Blair was to encourage people for improving their natural talents by believing in hard work. Moreover, he believed the people bust be content with their appointed stations in the society. Blair had a very deep impact on the society and sued to urge people for playing an active role in the society. He used to ask people to maintain faith in God, do good works, and enjoy the pleasures of society.

The appeal of Blair for both reason and emotion, combined with his elegant, moderate, and non-confrontational style made each Sermon's volume increasingly popular. Within his lifetime, the fourth edition was published. However, the fifth and the last edition was published shortly after his departure from this world. There is no doubt that each volume of Sermons met with the greatest success.

Lectures on Rhetoric and Belle Lettres

The lectures of Blair was published for the first time after he retired in the year 1783 from the position as Chair of Rhetoric and Belles Lettres at the University of Edinburgh. In his published, he deemed it as quite important as his work's unauthorized copies threatened the legacy of his teachings. A compilation of about 47 lectures of Blair was given to the student of the University of Edinburgh. The aim of his lectures was to serve as a practical guide for youth on language and composition. The outcomes of this result in making Blair as the first great theorist of written discourse.

It is the matter of the fact that the lectures present the radical new theories, but it is simply the only reason behind the importance of Lectures. In a number of occasions, Blair himself admitted his work that it is suffusion of his understanding of modern and classical theories of language. Lectures undoubtedly draw on the classical works of theories such as Cicero and Quintilian along with the combination of the modern work of Lord Kames, Burke, and Addison for becoming one of the first whole language guides. The literature of Blair is a comprehensive, accessible prescriptive composition that tends to combine centuries of theory in the form of cohesive.

The Lecture has the desired aim to provide youth with an organized, simple guide on the value of belles and rhetoric lettres in the quest for social success and upward mobility. The belief of Blair was that the social cultivation along with the use of effective writing and polite literature was the key to social success. Blair believed that the education in literature was socially useful in both of promote morality and virtue or elevate the social status of someone. The Lectures of Blair tends to provide the ideas on the way for composing texts. Blair is notable for supping the sample writings from contemporary literature for illustrating the qualities of writings with a sole purpose for the students to identify, analyze, and imbibe those qualities.

The Lectures of Blair on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres are seen to be combining the fundamental principles of belletristic rhetoric and literary theory. In the 18th century, the work of Blair was considered to be the most comprehensive guide on composition. Blair’s work was seen to be enjoying tremendous success for almost a complete century. The reason for that is quite simple as 130 editions were published in different European languages. That work was considered to be the best seller in Europe. In Italy, that work was known as Ugone Blair.

Personal Experience

Non-verbal communication occurs between individuals without using words. There was a specific situation in my office in which I faced nonverbal communication-related issue with my co-worker named Ben. All the employee were present in the meeting room, and Ben was presenting the meeting members over specific ideas through which the company can achieve the desired organizational goals efficiently.

Before he started his presentation, he mentioned that questions would be answered at the end, but I didn't pay much attention to his statement. During his presentation, I asked a question which he answered. After a while, I asked another one for which both of us made eye contact, and nonverbal communication occurred. The reason behind making eye contact was that he wanted to communicate that I should not ask questions again and again during his presentation. This situation made me realize that one should pay attention to another person while he is communicating an idea or a message. One should act as an active listener to make proper conversations.

I believe that I had this problem of being an ineffective listener in certain situations and at present, I am working over it. It is so true that a person who has excellent listening skills is good at communication. The more a person listens, the better he could understand the situation. Being an active listener would help to develop communication skills. One of the essential skills an individual can have is to be good at listening. It improves the quality of the relationships we have and also increases job effectiveness.

Getting all the necessary information is good by paying attention to the speaker, and he would continue speaking if he is encouraged by the listeners. The problem that I caused in the scenario discouraged him and caused interruption during his presentation. At times, non-verbal communication can become a significant issue in an individual's life like me; therefore, it is highly recommended to learn this skill before it is too late.

Interpersonal attractions

[Name of the Writer]

[Name of the Institution]

No one can stay in isolation as communication is one of the basic necessities of life, but it cannot be denied that there are different types of communication as one cannot have same way of communication for everyone. Style of communication changes depending upon the person we communicate. There are various needs for connection such as inclusion, affection, and control. Specifically regarding friendship, one may have different kinds of communication depending upon his closeness with a friend. Communication depends on relation or bonding that one has with others. I have many friends, but I enjoy different kind of attachment with each of them. One of the main things is that, in friendship there should be no conception of strategy, manipulation and superiority, in fact, there should be spontaneity. With one of my best friend, my communication is direct as there is no need of manipulating things as closeness matters. My friend is not my boss in front of whom I have to put things indirectly to avoid mistake. While in the case of my other childhood friend, we mostly communicate indirectly as we have a strong bond and could get each other by using minimum words. Indirect communication helps us keeping our things private even when we talk in group. In my case, with the advancement of time, I have witnessed a shift in my interpersonal relationship as I started feeling that I become closer with a friend who minimized communication gap between us. My friendship became stronger with that friend who showed me affection and taught me how to control different situations adhering to basic needs of communication. In both types of friendship as mentioned above, I have assertive sort of communication where I handle my conflicts with my friends by expressing my feelings and thoughts directly without being judgmental.

But in cases where one despite showing affection gets no response, communication starts getting decline ultimately, interpersonal relations come to an end. My friendship with my best friend started from our school, where we met in grade one, and this friendship began over the topic of asking teacher about the home task. There was a significant effect of “interdependence communication attraction." Yes, there was a shift in our interpersonal attraction as my friend brought the element of superiority in our friendship that immensely influenced our relationship that we get parted at the end. So as a whole, it can be concluded that whether one communicates directly or indirectly, the primary purpose of communication is to achieve a sense of inclusion and affection that is important for others and only healthy communication can help one to realize that he /she matters for his/her friend.

Revolutionary America

The American Revolution was unavoidable, and it was destined to happen because of the ongoing fights for independence. Intolerable acts of oppressions, increased tax revenues were the causes for American Revolution, and the colonials were uniting to oppose the British, who were attempting to control them.

The American Revolution is also known as the Revolutionary War, which was fought during 1775-1783 between the colonial government, which was representing the British crown and the thirteen American colonies who were the residents of Great Britain. The triggering event for the armed conflict between the British troops and the colonial militiamen was the fights going on in the Lexington ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"39gh7ggP","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Schlesinger, 1919)","plainCitation":"(Schlesinger, 1919)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":580,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/F0XOCTdk/items/3CGZLUU8"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/F0XOCTdk/items/3CGZLUU8"],"itemData":{"id":580,"type":"article-journal","title":"The American Revolution Reconsidered","container-title":"Political Science Quarterly","page":"61-78","volume":"34","issue":"1","source":"JSTOR","archive":"JSTOR","DOI":"10.2307/2141520","ISSN":"0032-3195","author":[{"family":"Schlesinger","given":"Arthur Meier"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["1919"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Schlesinger, 1919). In 1778, France started the American Revolution by favoring the colonialists, and this civil war turned into the international war. The Continental Army force was supported by the French allies, which resulted in the surrender of the British at Yorktown. The Americans got independence from the British in 1778, but the fights continued in the different states.

The American Revolution became inevitable because of many reasons like the rapid growth of the colonies, and the Americans were not willing to accept the structures by the imperialism and the British government. The strategies of the British government were too aggressive towards the American colonies. The American Revolution was associated with social reforms, and it was a cultural threat. These social and cultural issues remained the reason and center for the fight with the rule by imperialists in the state ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"SGmTj6eF","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Ramsay, 1990)","plainCitation":"(Ramsay, 1990)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":582,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/F0XOCTdk/items/TE3UR8KF"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/F0XOCTdk/items/TE3UR8KF"],"itemData":{"id":582,"type":"webpage","title":"The History of the American Revolution, vol. 1 - Online Library of Liberty","URL":"https://oll.libertyfund.org/titles/ramsay-the-history-of-the-american-revolution-vol-1","author":[{"family":"Ramsay","given":"David"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["1990"]]},"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",11,12]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Ramsay, 1990).

Causes for the American revolution varied, like the British opposed by violent means, tax revenues were increased, and the Stamp Act. The violent oppositions were continuing in the north, and then the south realized that slavery and violent oppositions are going to continue. The Missouri Crisis gave an idea that the northerners are not going to stop, the Americans were able to see a clear image and signs of a storm, and they knew that it was growing larger ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"cXanhPkD","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Alva, 2019)","plainCitation":"(Alva, 2019)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":584,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/F0XOCTdk/items/T7NV92SZ"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/F0XOCTdk/items/T7NV92SZ"],"itemData":{"id":584,"type":"article-journal","title":"THE REVOLUTIONARY ORIGINS OF THE CIVIL WAR","page":"554","volume":"114","issue":"2","language":"en","author":[{"family":"Alva","given":"O"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2019"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Alva, 2019). Such events were changing the perceptions, and this was one of the reasons, which is why the Civil War became inevitable. The levy taxes were imposed with an increased amount, on the Americans by the colonial leaders in 1763. The reason for increasing the taxes was to suppress American liberties and challenger their authority and identity.

The Stamp Act was formulated to make an increase in the taxes, which were to be imposed on the Americans and it was meant to mention the political sovereignty of the British government over the colonies. Unfortunately, the Americans gave a negative response and argued that, they had paid the taxes during the British war. They stated that they have contributed by putting money and they have provided the workforce. They will not pay the local taxes, which increased by the British, while the colonial assemblies condemned by adopting new resolutions ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"K6vLuNPm","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Reich, 2015)","plainCitation":"(Reich, 2015)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":585,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/F0XOCTdk/items/ZAWRZYEG"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/F0XOCTdk/items/ZAWRZYEG"],"itemData":{"id":585,"type":"book","title":"British Friends of the American Revolution","publisher":"Routledge","ISBN":"1-317-47570-4","author":[{"family":"Reich","given":"Jerome R."}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2015"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Reich, 2015).

These impositions of tax revenues, and the violent oppressions on the Americans were some of the triggering events, which lead the American Revolution. These events interlinked with each other, which resulted in the rapid growth of American colonials and oppositions and ongoing fights between the British and Americans.

The oppressions, fights, rule over the Americans and the increased revenues and taxes on the people were the causes and they were unavoidable because people were killed, and the Americans were not willing to let the British government rule over them for a lifetime and conquer their territories. Therefore, these events lead the American Revolution and it was not possible under these conditions to avoid a war by the American colonials coming from the different states of Great Britain.

Jacksonian America

Since its independence, multiple advancements and revolutions have pervaded the United States of America. Each new policy or reform movement had various political and economic agendas. Some of them were implemented and the American nation saw its benefits, however, some reforms failed. This essay discusses the presidential tenure of Andrew Jackson and analyses his distinctive policies used in the 19th century in the United States of America. Likewise, it also analyzes the downsides and political upheavals during Jackson’s presidential term.

Jackson introduced the right of suffrage to White men and reconstructed many federal institutions. It was his policy to ensure the protection of the legal justice system and equal distribution of wealth between all classes of the society. He used his authorities to bound the state administrative system to work for the welfare of common men in America. However, his policies were fixated to give relief to the White majority group and he ignored the legal and social rights of Black Americans. Similarly, one of the most famous and debatable initiatives of “Manifest Destiny” was taken during his presidential term. In lieu of this idea, the White privilege was glorified and it was used as a hidden agenda to expand American control over the northern states and Latin American territories. The American nation had to pay the price of this illegal control in the form of Mexican-American war. They enforced their laws on the natives of Latin America (Griswold del Castillo, “Manifest Destiny”). Likewise, this act also promoted slavery in the northern states because of settlers. On the other hand, Latin Americans had to migrate to America for better future prospects.

Both at a social and economic level, the huge influx of immigrants from Latin America burdened the American economy. Likewise, due to huge collateral damage in the Mexican-American war, the government faced backlash from both the opposition and the nation. In the Jacksonian era, radicalization was introduced but it was again limited to White men. President Jackson could not abolish the racial practices and as a result, the civil liberties of African Americans were denied. He wanted to safeguard his term of office and refrained from introducing reforms since, in the highly stereotypical American society, it was against his political motives. During his term, agriculture was preferred over industries because the process of immigration resulted in more demand for food items. Likewise, capitalist ideology manifested itself among the nation and they invested their energies in free trade markets. The American invasion of Latin America also provided it with an established market to sell its goods there and depreciate other countries’ economies.

Jackson was against the banking system and strongly opposed it in these words, “The bank is trying to kill me, but I will kill it!” (Parton, 1863, pg. 50) and he did the exact same by creating state banks in place of the Second National Bank. He wanted to shift to the earlier practices of using gold and silver metals for a bargain. Moreover, he used military forces to evacuate the lands where native Cherokees were living. Similarly, in his attempt at civilizing the native Indian Americans, he forced the tribes to send their children in specific hostels which were structured to teach them about Modern American values. However, in reality, such practices were just an excuse to kill the separate identity of the Cherokees. The famous slogan “Kill the Indian, save the man” unmasked the hidden political and economic manipulation of the Jacksonian democracy (Remini, 2013). He snubbed their legal control over their native lands and in a way, colonized them by forcing them to assimilate in the American culture.

The presidential term of Andrew Jackson centered on the democratic rule and improved the legal justice system for the American nation but he ignored the rights of Black Americans. He prioritized his political interests over morality and his policies resulted in the Mexican-American war and the cultural erosion of Indian Americans. His policy of rejecting the banking system further increased debts and after half a decade, resulted in the Great Depression.

Essay

Different skill sets are required for succeeding in the workplace due to increased competition and a high supply of workers. The education industry is passing a huge number of graduates each year who are ready to enter job markets. I feel that the most important skills needed for working in a professional environment include; communications, problem-solving attitude, stress management ability, team-work, self-management and conflict management. Without communications, an employee cannot manage to understand the message of a supervisor or manager. I believe that a person who is aiming to succeed in the workplace must develop adequate communication skills that will allow him to understand job responsibilities and transmit information inappropriate manner.

Problem-solving attitude is another important skill that employees need for managing work on-time. This exhibits the need for out-of-box thinking because employees cannot depend on a manager or senior staff. They have to find ways of managing things and reaching the best outcomes. Team-work is required for becoming part of international organizations. Employees cannot attain success without learning the art of working in a team. Stress-management is another critical attitudes needed for handling the excessive workload and adverse situations. In most of the challenging situations, employees often get frustrated. This indicates the need for controlling emotions such as anger, anxiety and low morale. Self-management is also an important skill that allows employees to plan and work in an efficient manner. Most of the organizations are now hiring employees from diverse backgrounds thus making it essential for new entrants to develop conflict management skills. This is because employees will often encounter conflicting situations due to cultural, ethnic and racial differences. Their ability to handle conflicts will maximize their level of efficiency. I feel that an individual planning to take jobs cannot succeed without these skill sets.

Managers can use Maslow’s hierarchy model for motivating employees that will result in enhanced performance and productivity. The first component of the model stresses on identifying the need of employees. The manager can help employees by determining their need such as salary, status or reputation. Needs can vary for employees because they could include psychological, safety or social needs. By identifying their true needs the manager would be able to address their concerns. In addressing psychological needs the manager can consider the work conditions, work hours and negative environment. By resolving these issues the manager will be able to improve the motivation level of employees.

The manager can also improve motivation by addressing safety needs. Such needs reflect a sense of security, protection from accidents or injuries. The manager that ensures the provision of a safe work environment that will add to the comfort of employees. Similarly, eliminating elements of harm can also promote the motivation of employees. The manager is also responsible for determining the social needs that include a sense of belonging, isolation or friendship. Provision of a friendly and supportive environment will allow employees to replace their negative emotions and will lead to high motivation. Another important aspect of Maslow's hierarchy model is the need for self-esteem. The manager can identify employees who face low self-esteem and formulate ways for helping them. By acknowledging their work the manager would be able to improve their level of motivation. Praising them and rewarding them can be effective for encouraging them to work efficiently.

Self-actualization need also impacts employee motivation. The manager must be able to offer some degrees of autonomy at work that will promote positive feelings. This will allow the manager to promote the level of motivation by giving opportunities for participating in decision-making to the workers. The manager can thus utilize Maslow's theory of hierarchy needs for overcoming issues of low-motivation and productivity.

The institutions and organizations that give different services to the community are called human services institutions or organizations. The human service institutions provide a range of services to the community they serve. They provide help and services to families and children that have been suffering from any kind on issue. Furthermore, human service institutions give support to elders of the society and community. The human services institutions also care for those that abuse on different substances. Additionally, human services institutions look after differently-abled individuals so that they do not feel left behind in this unforgiving society.

With a significant amount of advancements on the technological front, the world has become a global village. These advancements made possible for people to move to any country to avail better opportunities. People from different socio-economic backgrounds made their way to the US and the population of the country increased. In the previous century, human services institutions operated without the advantage of technology. This made many processes consuming a lot of time. This resulted in poorly managed human services institutions. However, after integrating and employing technology to their use, human services institutions ns made great advancements. The processes were streamlined which allowed effective management of human services institutions. Human services institutions and individuals working within them have always held certain values dear to their heart. Human service institutions value diversity. Diversity allows organizations to take on board individuals coming from different socio-economic backgrounds as well as serving people from diverse backgrounds without any discrimination. This important value of the human services institutions is also valued at Saint Leo University. WOMEN AND SEXUALITY

Many argue that the rules of technology have radically changed the way in which sexuality is lived. And that instantaneity conspires against eroticism. There are many who propose the end of pure eroticism, as a result of the exacerbation of technology to access everything, including sex. The sensory organs are always the same in the human being and the access forms as well. It is confused in many people the expansion of entertainment systems (virtual reality, erotic toys, video games or access to erotic material, such as networks and adult pages) with greater excitement.

People hungry for material of this kind, being more accessible, have managed to expand their fantasies in their autoerotic practices and, in case of being consented, in their relationships; although fantasizing does not mean taking action, this depends on each person, their belief system and values . The subjects who are sex addicts experience thoughts of a sexual nature that manifest themselves in their minds in a persistent and urgent manner, that despite their attempts to satisfy them, they do not find the desired satiety.

These desires are also associated with feelings of guilt and shame, despite several attempts to stop, reduce or control the behavior they consider abnormal, as a result of an awareness that the impulses they experience are uncontrollable. This obsessive behavior that can completely affect your life, undermining your ability to work, maintain interpersonal relationships - including romantic ones - and comply with your daily activities, as it becomes an obsession that regulates all the passing and dynamics of his behavior. In some cases, the person may have a paraphilic disorder, such as pedophilia, which does correspond to a diagnosable disorder, with a clear component of anguish and dysfunction of sexual behavior.

The arrival of information, the fall of prejudices and mental openness have given rise to a new generation that lives its sexuality according to a new scheme of coexistence. Either by fashion, by media influence or by an excess of information or because traditionalism has begun to move from the spheres of power along with their representatives: the members of the silent generation. The fact is that society, today has begun to embrace new ways of living, being, realizing and understanding life, from parents who stay at home to housework to new ways of interpreting and living love. Anyway, the digital generation is the one that has enjoyed the fruits of decades of prejudices, social struggles and revolutions of thought that have taken place since the nineteenth century and we could say that since the beginning of civilizations (Ryan, 2019).

It seems that the most usual iconography revolves solely around these issues. Most of the treaties exclude a type of images that, nevertheless, have been omnipresent in the history of humanity: sexually explicit material. There are representations of erotic character from very old. There are millions of paintings and sculptures created in order to be exciting. Some have been made by great masters, such as Courbet and Picasso (Roland Penrose once asked him how he distinguished eroticism from pornography and the painter replied: "Oh, why? Is there any difference?") However, these contents they are traditionally ignored in official history, as if it were a kind of parallel art (Smith, 2019).

That is why it is so difficult to analyze the influence it has had on our lives, even though, if that influence exists, it must be more powerful than ever. "What has totally changed sexual behavior has been the easy access to it: from any platform, at any time and in any place. The majority use of the internet is very recent, and there is still time until experts can assess the form, timing and nature of the change, but it seems clear that easy access has led to a massive consumption of this type of content. The man and the woman have the same capacity to feel sexual desire, nevertheless the men express more openly their sexual desires and thoughts, whereas some women feel shame and fear of doing it; that depends on the upbringing and education they have received. Either way, men and women have the right to express their sexual feelings and desires (NPR Choice page, 2019)

The propensity to shave pubic hair; the predisposition of heterosexual men to try anal sex with women but not to experience themselves with that practice; the tendency to turn sexual relationships into a very serious matter in which humor has no place; the practice of certain types of acrobatic and uncomfortable postures or the general inclination to maintain a type of relationships with very similar steps(oral sex followed by penetration with variation of postures) seem to be increasingly fixed in the general population. However, from the literature and ancient graphic documents we know that in other eras those patterns of behavior were not habitual. The founder of the 'Me Too' movement, Tarana Burke, said that two years ago she could not have booked a conference; On Wednesday night, almost 2,000 attendees went to the John M. Greene building to hear the famous activist talk about the importance of leadership. For the past two years, Burke has been traveling the world talking about the misconception of the 'Me Too' movement, a "social justice movement built and led by survivors" to end sexual violence (Burke, 2019). Burke explained a reason why he established the movement, "people do not understand what a survivor looks like."

Our society tends to ignore porn, to consider it something marginal and obscure, that does not interfere in other aspects of the life. Women and marginalized peoples does not only affect the production of pleasure, but produces very marked stereotypes of what it means in our society to be a man and be a woman, reinforcing the heterosexual imperative and the threat against bodies and different sexualities. Interestingly, in our democratic societies, the representation of sexuality remains a tremendously conservative and normative environment. What happens in pornography would be comparable, in terms of audiovisual communication, to living in a democratic regime without freedom of the press.

Introduction

Microeconomics consist of key principles which deal with the decisions and choices made to manage scarce resources within an economy (Cowen, & Tabarrok, 2015). It is a critical branch which all important sectors of an economy use to evaluate various tradeoffs, resources, and costs. An economy is gathered and viewed as a building block which holds critical economic decisions such as consumer and producer behavior, market functions, demand and supply, and welfare outcomes of consumers. Microeconomics deals with all kinds of rational choices which are often describing the best economic outcome and assumption. The purpose of this paper is to synthesize the concepts of microeconomics and coinciding it with Saint Leo’s Core Values. Economics not only deals with supply and demand factors or market and consumer behavior, but it also relates to the values companies or enterprises hold. As for Saint Leo, its values describe excellence, community, respect, personal development, integrity, and responsible stewardship.

Discussion

Identification

Often at times, values heavily coincide with the economy. Which is why Saint Leo’s Core Values define economics through its characteristics of knowledge, collectivity, social environments, people, strengths, and diversity (Calantone, Melnyk, & Hanson, 2017). All of these attributes are equally significant when it comes to discussing microeconomics. Firstly, understanding the supply and demand factors in microeconomics is critical as it is crucial for assuming variables which discuss these models. These factors affect the price and quantity of products distributed in the economy. Its relationship with the educational enterprise can be characterized as more students equal more demand. Subsequently, markets have individual or maximizing behavior. Often at times, companies within the market have profit maximizing as their primary focus. However, as for Saint Leo, it is a welfare organization which focuses on these core values. So its behavior towards the market will not be dependent or product or utility costs.

Similarly, if students behavior towards the enterprise is compelling, they would try to become a part of that educational enterprise. However, if it is not that compelling, then the students would instead go to there competitors where personal preference is utilized. In microeconomics, the market structure for both competitive and non-competitive markets induces a perfect competition. Which is why if Saint Leo intends to focus towards its core values, it would have to provide an ideal market example by providing students with useful resources, educational outcomes, etc. The enterprise should also focus on its resource markets which include the land, labor, or capital required to make this enterprise. If these core values are all that is needed by the University, it would have students recognize the spirit which is fostered with the social environment which is represented. The university uses its resources only for students purposes, and this resourceful act comes under the microeconomic resource market.

Conclusion

The aforementioned assignment based on the significant principles of microeconomics synthesize some critical economic concepts in contrast to Saint Leo's University enterprise. There values highlight many economic concepts such as the resources, the socially responsible environment, challenges in the market, exchange of ideas within the community, delivering consistency, etc (Zhou, 2016). Despite the seven significant microeconomics topics that are discussed in this paper, there is a purpose, information, and concepts that are relevant to the examples provided. The core values are the most critical aspect of the entire paper which are the primary goal of the enterprise. Values are what holds an economy together, and the stages of different economy functions are what regulates different aspects of the market. In terms of economics, the given examples and the contrast of different factors with the university's core value emphasize more towards the fundamental economic aspects.

Role of Government in Market Failure

Role of Government in Market Failure

Market failure is an economic term that refers to the inability of the market to allocate the resources appropriately. There are several reasons for market failure. However, two of the common causes are monopoly and externalities, and other factors could be public goods, overproduction, and overconsumption. On the other side, a government desires to have a market full of resources because the market plays a vital role in improving the economy of the country (Johnson, 2015). A failure of the market means the whole economy of the country is failed; therefore the government plays its role to recover the market.

The role of a government in recovering the market from failure cannot be ignored. One of the market failures is a monopoly. In the case of Monopoly, there is no competition, and the market fails when there is insufficient competition. The monopoly power provides the companies to control the market according to their own interest (Mazzucato, 2015). A market needs stewardship in order to be responsible for the consumption and distribution of resources. In this case, the producers need to apply stewardship in order to save the market from failing and it can be achieved by being resourceful. Sometimes, the monopoly even challenges the government intervening in the market; otherwise there are chances of market collapse. At the same time, the market would not remain productive because of monopoly. In such cases, the government needs an intervention.

The government has the authority to regulate the market to the problem. For instance, there is only one Airline Company in the market, and it has a monopolist power to alter the fares according to their will. They know that no matter how much they increase the fares, the passengers will not stop using their air services because they do not have any second choice. In this case, the government needs to pass a regulation to control the prices. As a result, the monopoly will be broken, and new competition will be held in the market.

Secondly, externalities also cause market failure. It is an effect caused by the third party due to the consumption of a particular good or service. Sometimes externalities harm the third party by influencing them without their consent (Gwartney & Ferrarini, 2014). For instance, a company in the market decides to construct its plant near a river in a village. As a result, it emits pollutants in the water and atmosphere that influences the people who consume river water and also live near the factory. When people are negatively affected by the pollution from the factory, they can concern a lawyer in this matter because the government has regulated it.

The government has the right to interfere in this case. It will apply some rules and regulations to control the external costs of the company. The government would regulate the company through environmental tax. At the same time, knowing the value of stewardship, the company can build a clean water plant for the villagers or compensate through any other social corporate responsibility. Moreover, Saint Leo's core values are also applicable in market intervention and also assist the market entities. It is the moral duty of the market entities to show some responsibility in case of negative externality.

There are so many other examples for the role that is played by the government to overcome the market failure consequences. Sometimes, markets fail in providing the resources to people because there is the unavailability of information for consumers about the product. The government plays its role in such situations by regulating the business entities through policies that they will communicate about their product in the market. Likewise, all the cigarettes companies are authorized to convey the adverse effects of their product on the market.

1. What are some (more than one) of the possible reasons for the decline in U.S. union density?

The decline in the density of US unions has been seen as workers find unions as a burden on more than a solution to them. The unions come with higher costs, promising benefits and high wages and job security; however, in economic downturns unions cannot protect the interests of its members and stop layoffs, wage reductions, and redundancies. The most common cause of the decline in the labor union is the labor is the inefficiency of labor unions due to corruption and labor racketeering. Also, most Americans prefer government protection over labor unions in cases of discrimination, wages, and other work benefits.

2. Define "collective bargaining" and list at least three of the major collective bargaining subjects.

Collective bargaining refers to a negotiation between employer and union representatives to settle the set of terms and conditions of employment over by bargaining subjects. Significant subjects of bargaining are mandatory subjects which relate to wages, hour, pensions and healthcare, permissible covers subjects like drug testing and union labels and illegal subjects which cover subjects that violate National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) like prolonged working hours.

3. What obligations does an employer have if a majority of workers in their workplace want union representation?

Employers obligation towards union representation suggest that the employer is at liberty to allow or restrain having unions in the workplace. Hence it's entirely based on voluntary membership of the workers in the workplace to enter into Unions. Employers only recognize them, when there is a collective bargain proposed by them to achieve or resolve a conflict an issue between them.

4. Both the pluralist and critical industrial relations schools view unions as important. Describe how these schools have different visions of unions.

Pluralist believe that conflict is inherent between the employees and the employers and trade unions protect the interests of both parties, making employees loyalty to both the employer and the union. While the critical industrial school of thought has capitalist connotations suggesting that conflict is a result of employees protection against managements exploitations.

5. Why would the system proposed by the Knights of Labor to replace capitalism not be considered socialism? Was this also a goal of the AFL? (Explain AFL goals).

Although Knights of Labor was aimed at achieving unity of interest for all; opposing child labor, advocating 8-hour work shift and labor rights. Initially, a secret organization soon turned into a radical labor organization which would strike through labor stoppages to gain attention. Although anti-capitalist it was not a socialist union and meant entirely to safeguard labor interests over against unjust practices by the employers and not to own the means of resources or overthrow their authority. American Federation of Labour took over the goals of Knights of labor; however, it abstained from going into national political issues like Knights of Labor through negotiations. The goals of their AFL were to achieve collective bargaining against employers to achieve lower working hours and high wages, workspace safety for the employees.

6. Where and why did the Homestead Strike in 1892 take place? Be specific.

Homestead Strike in 1892 was violent labor that occurred at Carnegie Steel Company between the union and the management because the management wanted to reduce wages by dismantling the labor union.

7. What is one way in which the Wagner Act succeeded where earlier legislation failed?

One of the ways in which Wagner's Act succeed against the earlier legislation on Labor unions was that because it legalized the worker's affiliation with unions for their negotiating wage rates, hours and benefits of job security. Wagners Act made employers recognize the existence of Labor Unions.

8. Name one of the ways in which injunctions contributed toward breaking strikes.

Injunctions are a way to reduce conflicts between the management and workforce. They are legal in nature and are ordered by courts. Injunctions became instrumental in breaking the strikes in several ways one of which can be consuming Union’s economic and human resource by legal procedures.

9. Why can there be significant differences in public sector labor law across different jurisdictions?

In the United States the Federal government creates no obligation to enforce the state governments to incorporate features in public law. Public law labor law differs with different community and social standards in different jurisdictions, e.g. right to work.

Finance & Management

As a manager, I would like to examine the financial performance of Tesla Inc. By conducting financial analysis I would be able to identify the strategy adopted for pricing and trading stocks. I have chosen Tesla Inc. because it is undergoing challenging situation irrespective of its reputation and standing in the automobile industry. I want to investigate if it's profitable for the investors to invest in stocks of the company.

Abstract

Business firms are operating in making revenues and raising profits. To attract investors and creditors the firm needs to earn the entitlement of publically traded on the New York Stocks Exchange. Publically traded companies are more likely to attract investors and creditors by offering them opportunities for earning dividends. The assessment of stock prices and performance of Tesla at NYSE is conducted by considering the research of the Wall Street Journal.

Investment in stocks

The investment in Tesla's stocks is riskier at the moment because the company has undergone a significant sales decline. The performance of Tesla is not satisfactory because the total return in 2019 is accounted for as -33% compared to the 7% rise in 2018 CITATION Phi19 \l 1033 (Doorn, 2019). The findings also state that Tesla recorded the lowest stock prices in 2019. The company has also raised convertible debt and equity of $2.7 billion. The first quarter of 2019 reveals that it was not profitable for investors. The short sellers netted over $1.91 billion and forecasted a further decline in stock price by the end of this year. Tesla is encountering serious headwinds and the development of affordable electric cars had further raised a financial burden on the company. The company is already undergoing challenges that require more financing including a fleet of robot-taxis, cross over, and release of pick up trucks. In the first quarter, the loss stated by the company is $702 million that is accounted for like 41% CITATION Pat19 \l 1033 (Thomas, Goldfarb, & Higgins, 2019). Logistic bottlenecks further affected stock prices negatively.

Company’s position compared to competitors

The dominant competitors of Tesla include Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Toyota Motor Corporation, Honda Motor Company and Navistar. Two main revenue segments of Tesla include automotive sales and development services. The automotive sales reflected a significant increase in 2018 but the development services only contributed to small sales CITATION Cor141 \l 1033 (Cornell & Damodaran, 2014). Traditional car sellers are increasing offerings in hybrid gasoline-electric cars. Tesla the automotive company faced the crisis by adopting a model of ‘manufacturing hell'. The customers claimed that electric cars have serious quality problems. The product was not according to the expectations of the customers. This reveals the defects in the assembly model. Due to serious quality claims the company failed to attain its target of manufacturing 20,000 battery cares CITATION Bla19 \l 1033 (Martin, Clothiaux, & Lund, 2019). It has adverse impacts on the process of manufacturing because the company lowered its target to 2,500 cars by the end of the month and 5,000 by the end of June. It was also revealed that "one current Tesla engineer estimated that 40 percent of the parts made or received at its Fremont factory require rework” CITATION Pau182 \l 1033 (Eisenstein, 2018). The company still needs to improve the performance of electric cars for competing with these prominent players of the vehicle industry.

Growth and profitability

The evidence suggests there has been significant growth of 25,913 percept in sales of Tesla for the last six years. growth aspects are visible as the company managed to deliver 80,142 vehicles in 2018 compared to the delivery of 321 cars in 2012. However, the growth prospects declined in 2019, reflecting low profitability CITATION Phi19 \l 1033 (Doorn, 2019). Investing

Price-to-earnings ratio

The PER of Tesla recorded for the year 2019 is -45.88. The ratio is considered by investors before making investments in stocks of the company. This is also used for determining the amount that investors are willing to pay against each dollar earning. The current share price of the company relative to earnings per share is known as Price-to-earning ratio. The relative value of a company's shares is estimated through this ratio CITATION Phi19 \l 1033 (Doorn, 2019). The low ration depicts that the investors are not satisfied with the performance of Tesla and they are least willing to make future investments.

Dividend Yield

The dividend yield of Tesla in 2019 is $0.00 in 2019. The dividend yield is the dividend per share of the company. The annual dividend relative to share price is known as dividend yield CITATION Pat19 \l 1033 (Thomas, Goldfarb, & Higgins, 2019). High dividend yield reflects the financially stable position of the company. This is more effective for attracting investors and depends on growth potential. Dividend yield of Tesla is low because the company has experienced a significant loss due to the manufacturing issues of electric cars. This also suggests that investing in the company's stocks is not favourable for the investors and creditors. This will cause investors to reinvest dividends in NYSE.

Future prospects

The company has taken serious steps for resolving technical issues of electric cars. The best strategy adopted by Tesla was to lower its production from 20,000 to 2,500. This gives adequate time for testing the performance of the developed cars. Other strategies that the company considered for addressing the issues include resolving discrimination, talent shortage and retaliation. To further overcome the manufacturing problems the company emphasized on rework on the defected part.

Recommendations

I don’t recommend to invest in the stocks of Tesla because the company is already undergoing a crisis. The low price-to-earnings ratio depicts that the company is lacking the capacity to pay back to its investors. Similarly, the low dividends yield also reflects the unstable position.

The provision from the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act 2014, is the most impactful factor that will decide how the physicians and the hospitals make the revenue from the medical services in the future (“Affordable Care Act (ACA) - HealthCare.gov Glossary,” 2018). All healthcare providers will face issues regarding the introduction of technology for the improved quality of healthcare. Due to this act, a huge majority of Americans will get health insurance through private or Medicaid programs. Insurers will see the ratio of healthier younger people signing up for the healthcare programs ("Outlook 2014: The year ahead in the healthcare business," 2008).

For the revenue, the new law encourages the Medicaid and the private sector organizations including the physician groups and hospitals to share the financial rewards and risks of patient management. Hospitals hope the expansion of Obamacare coverage, will encourage ten young individuals to buy elective care plans. Hospitals hope that the expansion of the coverage will reduce uncompensated care levels (Vu, White, Kelley, Hopper, & Liu, 2016).

Hospitals will try to reduce the operating expenses. All the focus will be on the cost of supplies. Also, all the hospitals will continue to seek the partners through the mergers and non-ownership settings the increased revenue, through efficiency in their sales. These are the only ways through which the hospitals will try to seek revenue by implementing the Act care plan.

SUBJECT: Health Care System and any Potential Issues that may arise in the Implementation of the Policy

Policy implementation is an integral and critical part of the overall policy process. Implementation is an important step once a policy has been developed because implementation decides the success and failure of any policy. It is known and a fact that there are various challenges and issues arise while implementing a health care policy. Several challenges and issue arise because every policy "especially health care policies" put a huge impact on the environment or society and these challenges create gaps/spaces between goals of the policy and actual outcomes. A number of researches have studied how implementations of policies occur and how it could be improved. A number of suggestions have been provided by these studies at local, national and international levels for eliminating gaps of implementation.

After policy development, it should be ensured that roles and responsibilities have been assigned and how to fulfill these roles and perform their responsibilities as well as which organizational structure should be created and adapted for proper, effective and successful implementation.

Anytime, when it comes to the implementation of health care policies, the most important thing is to ensure the agreement and roles among the stakeholders and how each of them put efforts in terms of implementation (Frønsdal, et al, 2010). The major shareholder who has a huge impact on policy implementation is the government. Their major role is to ensure that they come up with the required financial sources and budgeting. The legislative bodies have the role to ensure that the legal drafts are cleared and proper mechanism should be there. Health care providers also play a key role which is to make sure that is the policy being implemented in the true sola and allows better management among stakeholders. They are the last piece of the jigsaw.

In the implementation, an organizational structure is the first step in which the official and financial support of the policy should be evident from Directors and Executives (Zimlichman, et al, 2013). As well as core values like human rights must be identified. Beyond that, all the managers and employees must be known about every happening with their duties and responsibilities in the implementation process.

The second step of policy implementation is privacy and confidentiality. You should keep all the secrets and information fully confidential in any situation and at any cost. Some specific and responsible people should be selected for this purpose. Those individuals should be selected after deep and proper analysis and examinations.

Training and development is the step in which all the departments, teams, stakeholders and even individuals should train about their duties and responsibilities that what are their duties and how they will perform. All the involved people, departments and stakeholders must be acknowledgeable about the policy (Frønsdal, et al, 2010).

Monitoring and evaluation is the last but very critical and important step while monitoring any implementation. In this step, it should be ensured that all the activities are going fine and all the duties and responsibilities are being fulfilled properly. This is an important stage because if it has not been performed well, then the implementation may bring no outcomes (Frønsdal, et al, 2010).

The financial implication is also a key factor while implementing any policy. It must be considered during the entire process of implementation. In financial implication, it should be considered that the policy is going to be implemented within the allocated budget as well as it should be ensured that is the budget fine for the effective implementation of the policy (Zimlichman, et al, 2013).

Beyond that, for monitoring implementation of health care policy, it is extremely important to ensure that the responsibilities have been assigned to right members as well as monitor that all the roles, responsibilities and duties are performed properly and with content.

The next role is the role of the committee which is to pass all the bills regarding expenses and expenditures in the Senate as well their responsibility is to regulate the budgetary regulations for the policy while other members will be stakeholders. Stakeholders are government, insurance companies, health care providers, hospitals and pharmaceutical firms. They all play a role in ensuring the provision of quality health care to the citizens but also think about their revenues. After that, the government is the key stakeholder which is not a profit-conscious body but it is an interesting body in provision of quality health care to the citizens.

Implementation of every kind of policy needs effective management and control to eliminate any cause which may create issue(s). While implementing health care policy, you still need to be well prepared to resolve any issue which arises at any stage of the implementation (Frønsdal, et al, 2010). In the implementation of this policy, there may also some potential issue can be raised.

The first and most potential and highly noticeable issue is a financial problem in implementation of the policy. In this issue, any financial deficit can happen or extra budget can be needed at any level of the policy implementation process (Zimlichman, et al, 2013). Beyond that, any financial source can stop the provision of the required budget because of any possible reason. For eliminating this issue, we need to finalize all sources of funding before proceeding to implementation of the health policy. We also have to assign agreement with all the bodies that will support us financially that they will have to ensure all the funding before or at the first stage of implementation.

In case of privacy and confidentiality, any case may happen like any kind of information may be leaked outside, so for this security, we have to assign a confidentiality agreement with the concerned individuals so that this issue can be solved.

Training and development is an important factor for a successful implementation so the issues created because of this step of implementation also affect badly. In this step, any of the department or key members may be left untrained (Zimlichman, et al, 2013). To overcome this possible issue we will have to ensure that all the key members of the policy (especially key role holders) have been trained and developed properly. For this purpose, we can arrange a test or examination to know the facts.

Evaluation and monitoring (as mentioned above) is the last factor but considered as the most important stage of any policy implementation because everything will be lost if it has not been done properly. Suppose there is a lack of proper evaluation and monitoring, a problem like financial forecasting has been done incorrectly may happen in this step of implementation.

Human Resource is also an important factor to be fulfilled in any case for a successful and effective implementation of any policy. It is a critical factor for the policy of any level because lack of Human Resource or lack of potential human resource may destroy a well-planned and well-organized process anytime (Frønsdal, et al, 2010). So for this, we have to monitor the hiring process for implementation of this health care policy very strictly and we should set high standards for selection. So, such issue would not be faced.

Several ethical issues could also be faced with an implementation of health care policy. The most critical issues are quality and efficiency of care, managing health force for need in future and prescription of limited medicine, etc. To document this impact we would work on Quality and Assurance of health care (Daniels, 1982). Furthermore, we will also work to eliminate all the ethical issue by implementing the policy in the way that fulfills and satisfy all the ethical and even societal considerations. For this, we will have to study public "people", environment and society in terms of their preferences and considerations, so that the policies would bring positive impact on the overall healthcare’s system.

Writing Assignment-Full Disclosure

Everyone makes mistakes but owning up to them is a different matter. It is quite hard to admit the errors and harder to apologize for them. This is a common thing in medical history where hospitals always discouraged doctors and nurses from admitting their mistakes. This fear is due to the fear of precipitating a malpractice lawsuit and also due to embarrassment and the discomfort due to the process. In full disclosure, the doctor explains why the error happened, how its effect will be minimized and the steps that will be taken to avoid recurrence. Medical error is a human error which causes damage to the patient. In 2000, it was noticed that around 98000 deaths were caused due to human error, therefore it is important to disclose and admit the error so that the patient knows his rights and also his confidence in healthcare is not broken ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"xkUcvna6","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(\\uc0\\u8220{}Disclosure of Errors | AHRQ Patient Safety Network,\\uc0\\u8221{} n.d.)","plainCitation":"(“Disclosure of Errors | AHRQ Patient Safety Network,” n.d.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":736,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/4C6u8dIT/items/7QRPLEJC"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/4C6u8dIT/items/7QRPLEJC"],"itemData":{"id":736,"type":"webpage","title":"Disclosure of Errors | AHRQ Patient Safety Network","URL":"https://psnet.ahrq.gov/primers/primer/2/Disclosure-of-Errors","accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",3,7]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (“Disclosure of Errors | AHRQ Patient Safety Network,” n.d.).

The role of a healthcare organization is crucial in error disclosure. Patients normally want an explicit statement that why the error happened and what measures are being taken to minimize the impact, they don't expect an apology but a complete plan on the aftermath of the error, so it is the responsibility of the organization to take the patient in their confidence and do the needful. The doctors and nurses prefer to stay silent, and they normally prefer not to disclose the information, this is done because of the pressure from the organization. So the organization should ensure the nurses and doctors that their career will not be affected and the organization must include this into their policy that they will not only disclose the error but will make sure that it will not happen again ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"ENdeEf3a","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Berthold, n.d.)","plainCitation":"(Berthold, n.d.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":738,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/4C6u8dIT/items/6Q6HYZT8"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/4C6u8dIT/items/6Q6HYZT8"],"itemData":{"id":738,"type":"webpage","title":"Disclosing medical errors the right way","abstract":"After a medical error, patients want an explicit statement that an error occurred, what happened, and the implications for their health. Mistakes are part of healthcare practices and they cannot be avoided all the time, the biggest fear of physicians is that once they tell the patients then it might happen that more people will know about that and ultimately no patients will come to visit them, and if l know about the error then they have to face legal issue, and the situation will become worse. These are some of the most observed gaps certain measures must be taken. They must be taken in confidence that if they disclose the error then no harm will be done to them but measures will be taken to avoid the recurrence of the error and all must work together to avoid such mistakes ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"MeL2dcQo","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(\\uc0\\u8220{}Barriers to Medical Error Disclosure: An Organizing Framework and Themes for Future Research,\\uc0\\u8221{} n.d.)","plainCitation":"(“Barriers to Medical Error Disclosure: An Organizing Framework and Themes for Future Research,” n.d.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":740,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/4C6u8dIT/items/KMGVZJXX"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/4C6u8dIT/items/KMGVZJXX"],"itemData":{"id":740,"type":"webpage","title":"Barriers to Medical Error Disclosure: An Organizing Framework and Themes for Future Research","URL":"http://austinpublishinggroup.com/pathology/fulltext/pathology-v1-id1010.php","accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",3,7]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (“Barriers to Medical Error Disclosure: An Organizing Framework and Themes for Future Research,” n.d.).

Writing Assignment - Informed Consent

Informed Consent

[Name of the Writer]

[Name of the Institution]

Informed Consent

Informed Consent in a hospital setting means that patients understand the possible benefits, alternatives, and risks of any treatment which they are receiving. Informed consent is essential in any health care center because it can bring positive outcomes by ensuring that the patients understand all the risks which they undertake during their treatment. It also creates trust between patient and doctor by developing a good understanding. It also decreases the risk for both doctor and patient. With the excellent communication related to options and risks patients have the choice to select the best one for him and due to the risk of legal action against physician also decreases (Katz, & Webb, 2016).

The most significant right of patients is that they should be allowed in decision-making on the matters which are affecting their health and should have the right to participate in the health policies development. Every patient has the right to a safe and healthy environment in health care centers which will ensure their mental, and physical wellbeing or health. Moreover, every patient has the right to receive emergency health care services on time and also have the right to get effective or incurable treatment in case of terminal or incurable illness.

Informed consent relates to the rights of minors and patients as it allows them to make their own decision for choosing what is right for them. Every patient should have a right to enable them for making their own choice and should also be provided with sufficient time if possible. This can help the patient in reducing their stress and pressure. Patients also have the right to ask about the recommended treatment (Blease, Lilinfeld, & Kelley, 2016).

Lack of informed consent can allow the patient to pursue legal actions against physicians, surgeons or health care organization. It can also create a situation of disbelief between patients and doctors and cannot promote the effective use of medicines. (Grady, 2018).
