Argumentative Essay

When a child is born he or she is unaware of the people, traditions and even the environment. It is the responsibility of parents to teach their children regarding ethically and morally justified behaviors based on their culture along with traditional education. Hitting children has been the only way of teaching discipline for several years, however, in reality, it can be considered as child abuse. Hitting can be described as a negative physical contact with a child intended to cause distress and pain. Despite considering hitting as a form of abuse many people are there that still believe that hitting a child can teach him or her disciple which is utterly wrong. Thus, making it a topic of debate. This paper will present arguments regarding why hitting a child is wrong along with the views of people that consider this practice right.

Parents are both physically and emotionally stronger as compared to children. They are aware and familiar with the world than children and as their brain is completely developed they are therefore capable of self-control. So when a parent attempts to make a child disciplined or to behave in a better way by hitting them it left a scar on the brain of a child. Also, a child might think that hitting is the only way to be dominating so they practice the same with other children as well. According to the research conducted by the author M.A. Rajalakshmi, physically punishing a child can cause not only physical, psychological, and emotional side effects but can also play a major role in retarding the process of children normal brain functioning and developing (Rajalakshmi, 2018). The author also discussed that physical punishment such as hitting can be differentiated into corporal punishment and harsh corporal punishment. Both the punishments can significantly damage the normal brain functioning of a child. The author also conducted a survey in which he gave a questionnaire to the participant while also interviewed the participants as well. The results revealed that the participants had a history of psychiatric disorders were the ones that were subjected to physical violence either by teachers or by parents. Also, the hitting that can result in severe injury was associated with a reduction in the gray matter present in the left medial temporal gyrus. This gray matter is responsible for social cognition so if a child is hit by parents then the stress level can lead a child into depression and a child will consider that to rectify bad behavior or to make an individual disciplined hitting him or her is essential.

Despite the above-mentioned research many people still think and believe that hitting a child is the most effective way to teach him or her about disciple. According to these people, hitting a child hard enough is not justified yet the minor hitting or spanking is justified owing to certain circumstances. According to these people, the anti-spanking and hitting opponents have created an ethical dilemma for many parents due to which they shy away from disciplining children by hitting them. Due to this reason, parents tend to rely upon other alternatives such as taking away the toys from children or allocating them extra chores or even withdrawing several privileges during the recession period to teach them discipline. However, people think that by using the alternatives of hitting will make the children rebellious and they may take drastic steps such as leaving their homes. These people further argue that the current generation has decayed morals as compared to the older generation because the older people were brought up in a culture where spanking and hitting was justified.

Although the above-presented arguments may seem a bit persuasive all the arguments mentioned do not have any proof neither there is evidence that supports hitting can make children disciplined. Thus, these arguments can be neglected as just the perception of a few groups of people based on the stereotypical thinking that is prevailing in our society from ages regarding hitting a child can make him or her disciplined.

Similarly, in a research conducted by the author Louis Fairchild and his fellow researcher William M. Erwin, the authors discussed the consequences that physical punishment can cause to a child (Fairchild & Erwin, 1977). According to the authors, many years ago hitting a child was accepted worldwide and was also considered as the only appropriate way of eliciting behavioral compliance that is conceptually distinct from physical abuse. However, this perception began to alter when many studies establish the correlation between the physical punishment such as hitting with child aggression, spousal assault, and delinquency in later life. This argument provides evidence that not hitting a child will make him rebellious but if a child is hit by parents then there are chances that he or she might go against the will of their parents because of aggression. The author further presented a literature review and conducted an experiment in which the participants who were in grade one were asked to watch a one-minute video n which a boy was hit and yelled at by his parents. Then the kids were asked to play with the dolls and teddy bears. The results revealed that the students who watched the video showed more aggression as compared to the children who did not watch the video. Thus, hitting a child can be considered as a major cause of child aggression.

All the above-mentioned findings are consistent with the growing body of literature present on the influence of adverse childhood experiences on the cognitive, neurological and physical development of an individual. In conclusion, parents should not hit the children to teach them discipline rather focus on take time and explain the importance of good behavior so that they know the difference between wrong and right.

The connection between the change in values and social morals

Times and values changed over time

Introduction

Every individual in this world follows some of the rules and traditions that are being transferred from his family or the surroundings. Certain things value more for a person and this became more evident to me when I went aboard for my masters where I met people from different communities, religion, and nationalities, etc. I would say that this was the first time when I realized that how important values are for tracing the family heritage of people. Though I was not a person who used to value his traditions and culture a lot but there in aboard, I became more aware regarding the observance of my values. It was the time when I came to realize that values are the primary factor that determine the nature, behavior, and attitude of a person towards life and the people that one encounters. From the values of people, I came to know little more about their family heritage; as a value system is a set of prescriptive and proscriptive beliefs that form the basis of intentional activities and at the same time affect their ethical behavior. It became easy to find how cherished are the value system and family heritage of an individual is, as value system reflects the sense of right and wrong of an individual. The value system that a person follows, is directly connected to his identity. Most of the students, at the campus, were identified from their value system. Values that a person observes directly communicate about his/her identity and the family one belongs to.

Discussion

All the years that I spent aboard, I would say that I noticed that family traditions and culture are main factors that shaped up self-identity of people. Value and traditional makes people conscious of what they would wear, what sort of decisions they are going to make. Another thing that I have noticed is that over time, in some families, uniformity of the values has been challenged. One of the challenging realities is that not only people change as they get mature, but at the same time, their values change with time but most of the time this change in values is not easily accepted. For example, when a child grows up, in the beginning, he simply follows the values that he observed in his surrounding i.e. being practiced by his family members, but with time when he/she develops a sense, he starts questioning what he/she is being asked to do. It is a fact that the value system is shaped by the family background, life experiences and environment in which a person lives and not all the people could have the same experience. Families that are more conscious of their heritage and identity are not willing to accept the change in their value system.

Claiming the issue of change in the values overtime must be highlighted at the beginning (introduction) so that the readers could be informed about the issue that people are facing. Informing readers about the issue in start would help in keeping the attention of readers towards central issues so that they could find possible solutions and techniques to mitigate the effects of the issue.

One of the main examples that one could take in consideration of a change in the values of western society can be seen currently. After decades of debate over morals and economy, there has been witnessed a shift in the western society e.g, slavery was a cultural heritage that was eliminated from the economic mainstream. Another major supporting evidence of change on value system is that in the past, they were disliked and considered destructive and now are a part of the daily life of youngsters as they found nothing wrong in those activities, for example, ragging has become an integral part of the university life. Concepts of wrong and right have been changed over time. One of the main evidence of change in values is the emergence of LGBT community and supporters who believed that same sex-marriages should be legalized while in the past, such concepts were not accepted as they challenge their traditional and cultural heritage.

According to the study conducted by Mark Dombeck, this fact cannot be denied that people have an innate sense of beliefs, personal preferences, and values that get buried under the thick layer of expectations, demands, and social morals. Mark also quotes an example in his research that one may have homosexual inclinations, but he abandons these inclinations and gets married (with the opposite sex) for saving himself/herself from the shame and taunts of the society.

Bringing and promoting a change is not an easy thing to do. There could be found two types of opinions about value change i.e. one who supports change in value and those who oppose it. It is important to keep in consideration both the groups. People who oppose a change in values claims that sometimes rebellious people want to bring change that encourages immorality and leads the society towards destruction. Both groups have their logics that they explain by their point of view.

Taking into account, it won’t be wrong to say that no compromise should be done by the opposing view as not all the times change that people demand, takes them towards immorality. Rather it could be said that people wanted to act as per the social demands because not all the society favors the same sort of value system, so people may demand a change by keeping in consideration their present situations and circumstances. For educating the audience about the current issue of change in the value system, the serious tone would be best as it is about the society and value system of every individual about which people used to feel emotional sometimes so it is better to address this issue of the change in value system over time in a serious tone.

Conclusion

Issue of change in the value system has its global importance so people must take this issue in consideration and must look at both aspects being provided by both groups (who are in favor and against it). Readers must understand this fact that value system of each of the individual is different from the other one as not all the people have same family background, experience, and social conditions so people must be more careful about which change they are bringing in the value system as it has been seen that value system of one person not only affects others but also may inculcate feelings of change in certain values among others. Values that a person practice gives a reflection of his family heritage and self-identity, so the demand for change in value system must be done carefully as it could affect the family image and heritage as well.

Argument of drama

The treatment of “The Tempest” by Cesaire is not different from that of Shakespeare when the character of Prospero is analyzed. Me Cesaire published the playwright “A Tempest” in 1969 used for instrumenting post-colonial concerns. it is a postcolonial revision of the original play “The Tempest” written by William Shakespeare. Although the characters and the central plot remains the same, some changes are apparent in Cesarie's work that reflects a deviation from Shakespeare's play. Cesarie in A Tempest stresses on the plight of Ariel and Caliban who encounters a never-ending quest for gaining freedom. The central characters struggle against Prospero in the play and adaptation, who is the ruler of the island. The story follows the themes of Shakespeare who portrayed the magician living in exile with his daughter on a distant island. Shakespeare’s Prospero anticipate Cesaire’s Prospero

Prospero decides to give up his magic and to show mercy to his enemies to attain reconciliation. Prospero in Cesaire's work is an attempt to please the people and receive their appreciation decided to give up his magic and power. Prospero’s role depicts the traits of forgiveness, hope, and reconciliation. Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” illustrates true forgiveness and reconciliation. Prospero attains the freedom to forgive the sinners against him when they emerged as a victor, facing the pertinent and the mournful ready to pay for their transgression. Prospero undergoes the emotions of forgiveness. The reason for giving up his magical powers is to return to civilization. In The Tempest, Shakespeare constructs his idea of justice and carries it throughout the play.

In the play, the hope to return to normalcy motivates Prospero to quit his powers and forgive Ariel. The character of Prospero in Cesaire’s ‘A Tempest’ shows that he decides to overcome his past by forgiving people. He displays intentions of returning to Milan. Prospero possessed power and dominance “desire for vengeance has apparently lain dormant in Prospero through the years of banishment, and now, with the sudden advent of his foes, the great wrong of twelve years before is stirringly present again, arousing the passions and stimulating the will to action" CITATION Wil04 \l 1033 (Shakespeare). The feelings of redemption motivated him to attend the wedding of Ferdinand and Miranda and afterwards preparing for death CITATION AJa78 \l 1033 (Arnold).

Prospero’s self-realization of the magical powers provokes him to accept it as a weakness in Cesaire’s ‘A Tempest’ that follows the original idea of Shakespeare. He learned that using nature's spirits are only tricks that cause pain to others. He manages to encounter his obsession with magic that motivated him to control the people. Prospero also revealed that his magical powers caused more harm to him generating a feeling of redemption. His decision to control himself encouraged him to give up his powers. Prospero started relying on magic when he was destructed and left with no hope. The feelings of helplessness promoted the evilness, and he learned magic to take control of the circumstances.

Reliance on Prospero over magic reveals his weak character. "Prospero threatens to imprison him again, then tells him to on the shape of sea-nymph add promises him his freedom in two days" CITATION Wil04 \l 1033 (Shakespeare). The failure to overcome hopelessness and rejection motivated him to depend on magical powers. Magic gave him the ability to command other people, and his primary reason was to get back his daughter. “But you are a Princess for how else does one address the daughter of a Prince? I cannot leave you in ignorance any longer. Milan is the city of your birth and the city where for many years I was the Duke" (Cesaire). He used his magic to control his daughter Miranda, but the moment he realized the flaws of his powers, he decided to let her go. Prospero’s reason to quit magical powers was after learning the reality of Miranda. He uncovered that he was unable to stop Miranda from marrying Ferdinand that helped him in overcoming his dependence on evil powers.

Prospero in Cesaire’s ‘A Tempest’ is anticipated by Shakespeare because he learned different things through his life that resulted in his acceptance of reality. The past leaves a profound impact on the character of Prospero. He learned how his miserable life brought him to the world of magic, but he realized the repercussions’ as the magic results in more destructions leaving him without love and companionship. He learned that virtue comes from forgiveness, not revenge. He learned through the sufferings of the enemies about his cruelty. He discovered his cruelty resulted in their pain and sufferings making him a villain. Compassion and forgiveness provoked him to change his attitude and allow everyone to forget and forgive.

Realization of people’s captivity allows him to give up magic. Prospero learned that his magical powers resulted in people’s imprisonment so he realized that he could quit using magic and demand forgiveness from people. Hope to overcome the corrupt past, Prospero gave up his powers to please the people. He though his act would replace the hatred they developed for him with appreciation. He manages to overcome his feelings of revenge that gave him the courage to quit his magical powers. He wanted to exhibit his merciful nature by freeing everyone.

Prospero’s realization of the fact that the magic did not help him in getting with his feelings of helplessness, motivates him to quit magic. Though magic enabled him to earn the status of Duke of Milan, he displayed distractions. His rank as a duke failed to provide him with satisfaction and happiness. His desires of having a different past show he lacks joy and contentment in his life. His realization of his miserable past encouraged him to settle for a better future. His past depicted the absence of love and friendship. In the hope of a better life, he gave up his magical powers. Prospero learned that magic destroyed his life instead of protecting him. He learned to focus on his future, and the only thing that could change his past is giving up magic.

Prospero learned how helpless he was to change the course that he chose for himself. He realized it was not possible to go the past and change his actions; however, he still had time to improve him in future by displaying his humane attributes. He learned that his punishments resulted in enemies’ madness and grief that he encountered during his past. Prospero learned that it is his final chance to change the course of his destructed life and present himself as a better Duke. He uncovered his resentment that had developed due to his miseries. His realization to become a better father Miranda and give her freedom of marrying. Vengeance helped him in gaining no peace or satisfaction, thus depicting his failure as a compelling Duke.

Prospero undergoes the feelings of self-realization when he compares his past with the present. He learned he constructed his path to destruction and evil. He takes him back to the period when he was without magic, causing him to believe that his magical powers outs him in a miserable situation. He realized he developed a hatred for people due to his evil character that can only be replaced with his act of kindness. The best choice that Prospero had was to free the enemy and portray himself as a kind Duke.

Shakespeare uses his thoughts on redemption through the construction of the character Prospero. Through Prospero Shakespeare reveals the sense of justice, forgiveness, and reconciliation that is also apparent in Cesaire’s drama. Prospero in the drama and play portrays his idea of justice through the representation of events and characters in the play. He displays the character of Prospero to highlight the theme of justice and uses characters as a source of celebration, leading to a happy ending. Shakespeare used his redemption to place the characters in different roles that act to represent the concept of forgiveness.

In the play, the writer creates special effects in the play by adding the concepts of magic and power. Shakespeare through his redemption convinces the audience about the rightness. The artistic creativity of Shakespeare allows him to build characters and construct events that change the concept of forgiveness to morality art. The imaginations of artist persuade the audience that happy endings are still attained. Shakespeare through his theme of redemption portrays the good nature and good humans. He envisions the role of freedom and positive side of humanity through self- realization and redemption. Through his theme of redemption, he tries to convince his audience about forgiveness and reconciliation. Shakespeare also displays his personal beliefs by building relevance between power and destruction.

The comparison of ‘A Tempest' and ‘The Tempest' depicts Shakespeare anticipates the character of Prospero. Cesaire has followed the original theme and idea of Shakespeare in creating the character of Prospero. Prospero in Cesaire’s ‘A Tempest’ is anticipated by Shakespeare because he learned different things through his life that resulted in his acceptance of reality.

Introduction

Gun Control or also known as "firearms regulation" is a law set by the government to regulate the use of firearms by civilians. There are two types of categories involved in the use of guns, and these are either permissive or restrictive categories. A license is required for the use of a particular firearm, and without a license, every gun by law is restrictive and regulated. Gun control is legislated at the federal level and is not sold on all platforms. There is strict manufacturing of firearms, only the ones with government contracts are allowed to manufacture firearms, and for military use. Regarding class possession, just people with a government license are allowed to use a firearm. Gun control is practiced to decrease gun violence and create awareness over gun safety and illegal weapons. By implementing the use of gun control policies, more awareness on critical issues along with the regulation of civilian firearms could be adequately achieved.

Thesis

The purpose of this argumentative research essay is to analyze the importance of gun control and to what extent such legislation and rules can benefit American societies.

Discussion

Identification

Supervision over gun control has never been too precise and affirmative as many people, including different agencies, have set rules and regulations over the use of unauthorized weapons. There are different types of firearms, and some are for civilian use while others are military grade. The civilian firearm ownership is considered a privilege while the regional civilian firearm regulation talks about a cross border legal trade. Due to some areas being left unsupervised and less restrictive, criminals have used this chance to sell illegal weapons and made every effort to mitigate government efforts. Government is the main body that is mainly responsible for the distribution of firearms and can only let a law enforcement authority or the military handle a weapon. Some regulatory frameworks set by the government identified the regulatory use of weapons by civilians under the following aspects, safety, and storage, penalties, licensing, criminal liabilities, etc.

Gun control is arguably the most important part of a government as it minimizes the danger of gun violence and the chances of other criminal activities. The less the guns are available in the market, means the fewer chances of any criminal activity. Gun control would ensure lawful abiding citizens and less crime rate. A lot of societal problems can be solved with the help of regulatory gun control. Access to weapons can also be restricted as owning or handling a gun will not be an easy task to achieve. To arguably set more restrictive criteria for gun control in areas where there is less control, people should be held accountable and even fined if caught with an unlicensed gun. Moreover, people having a restrictive weapon should be taken into custody as these can be used in any terrorist activity. Gun control law should be enacted so that fewer guns are present on the streets.

This gun culture in America is the root cause of most gun violence incidents and therefore require an expressive solution. People are allowed to keep something for there, but most of the times, people end up committing a crime with it. Therefore certain restrictions have been apprehended for the safety of American citizens and the proper use of guns. The second amendment set protects the individual's rights of owning a gun and using it for self-defense from criminal or local threats. More laws on gun control can reduce the number of gun deaths that happen around the year. Moreover, high capacity magazines with a high caliber bullet gun should be banned, and only the small weapon should be allowed for any self-defense. Many of the gun control laws are made to save women from domestic abusers. In some states, guns are not approved for even hunting and sport.

Guns which are legally owned by individuals are the ones most involved in some criminal activity. If gun control is achieved over the adults, then the children and teenagers would also be forced to follow these rules. More education concerning gun control is needed so that children and teenager can understand the role of spreading positive influence and not a negative impact. The importance of these roles can be identified through the presence of safety precautions and measures over gun control. If more gun control rules are set and an increase in the availability of guns is found, armed civilians would be more likely to end up in a dangerous situation involving some shooting scenario. If strict gun laws and no guns are placed to the civilians, then the chances of an accident are less to slim.

Conclusion

The aforementioned argument outline of gun control is a way of seeing the pros and cons of placing barriers to use over gun control. These barriers would act in a way which may infringe the benefit of using the guns or provoke the idea of limiting weapons. Each of the situations comes with different tasks and involves either higher risk or no risk at all. Which is why reviewing and restricting all needs to gun use should be provoked so that any chances of gun violence or an outbreak of gun accident can be overcome. The use of a gun should be minimized to a considerable extent, and even the law forces should be restricted from using weapons at all times.

Argumentation Essay

Social media has connected the widespread gaps across the world and is an explicit manifestation of robust technological advancement. Various social networking platforms have assumed an instrumental role in human lives, shaping the daily routine, utilizing leisure time and harnessing the productivity in true letter and spirits. Meanwhile, a wide range of people defy the very existence of social media platforms like Twitter and term it an utter waste of precious time. It is critical to highlight Twitter is often overlooked by people while measuring the positive ramifications of social media platforms. The need of the hour is establishing a rational argument supplemented with fundamental evidence to underpin the significance of Twitter. Irrefutably, Twitter manifests widespread benefits as the profound access to celebrity, corporation contacts and several other elements which essentially nullify the argument of the cynics.

To begin, Twitter began its venture as an internal service for employees but entered the public domain in 2006. In a matter of a few years, Twitter experienced immense success and its usage became pervasive. However, the number of users is still way less than the users of other platforms as Facebook. The widespread perception of not being productive has caused Twitter to face impediments to gain momentum ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"V8xfRrJm","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(\\uc0\\u8220{}Tall Tweets \\uc0\\u8211{} Write Tweets Longer Than 280 Characters\\uc0\\u8221{})","plainCitation":"(“Tall Tweets – Write Tweets Longer Than 280 Characters”)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":31,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/yvjivw9i/items/Q9N8S9UT"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/yvjivw9i/items/Q9N8S9UT"],"itemData":{"id":31,"type":"webpage","title":"Tall Tweets – Write Tweets Longer Than 280 Characters","container-title":"Digital Inspiration","abstract":"Tall Tweets 280 is a Twitter app that will help you write tweets that are longer than 280 characters. However, it never implies Twitter has failed to provide ease, comfort and productivity. The people who prefer not to use Twitter ought to be aware of the potential benefits of Twitter and should not adhere to the radical perception of the cynics.

Moreover, Twitter is a platform which offers tremendous opportunities to meet interesting people. Not every other person is blessed with the privilege to be surrounded by such people in life. A critical appraisal of the matter reveals people do not meet with family or friends on Twitter rather they came across people with whom they potentially desire to communicate. Every other person can be followed and likewise, he/she can follow others. Besides, Twitter has proved the worth by announcing the breaking news. The simplicity of the site indicates that it is a simple task to tweet about a certain thing. Afterwards, the vigorous process of retweets makes the news spread like a wildfire. By harnessing this feature, Twitter has advanced to transcend the traditional platforms of breaking news ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"tuMWoY4n","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(review)","plainCitation":"(review)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":33,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/yvjivw9i/items/9YNUD9SK"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/yvjivw9i/items/9YNUD9SK"],"itemData":{"id":33,"type":"webpage","title":"Benefits of Twitter for business","genre":"Collection; Text","abstract":"Understand the range of benefits Twitter can bring to your business, including marketing, research and customer service.","URL":"https://www.business.qld.gov.au/running-business/marketing-sales/marketing-promotion/online-marketing/twitter/benefits","language":"en-AU","author":[{"family":"review","given":"Under"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2012",6,21]]},"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",4,24]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (review). Such magnificent are the implications of using Twitter in comparison to other social networking sites and thus ought not to be deemed a waste of time. In addition, the persistent tracking of events and online trends is the other potential advantage of using Twitter. If the news is going viral on a platform as YouTube, it will be shared on Twitter immensely. Similar will be the case with a new meme which will be dominated by tweets. Several exciting and interesting aspects are also incorporated besides these elements. For instance, if a celebrity is involved in potential misconduct and has managed to elude the mass media, Twitter will catch him. A video or an intriguing tweet might be placed on Twitter to unleash the scandal. Furthermore, hashtags have become a prominent appearance even other social networking platforms like Facebook and Instagram ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"SObyT1kR","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(amulvenna)","plainCitation":"(amulvenna)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":35,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/yvjivw9i/items/FFEHK62G"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/yvjivw9i/items/FFEHK62G"],"itemData":{"id":35,"type":"webpage","title":"Advantages and disadvantages of Twitter for business","container-title":"nibusinessinfo.co.uk","genre":"Text","abstract":"There are advantages and disadvantages for businesses using Twitter to reach their audience online, consider the benefits and challenges before you start","URL":"https://www.nibusinessinfo.co.uk/content/advantages-and-disadvantages-twitter-business","language":"en","author":[{"family":"amulvenna","given":""}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2016",11,1]]},"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",4,24]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (amulvenna). These hashtags were essentially a manifestation of the trends introduced by Twitter. Thus, all these instances are an explicit illustration of the widespread ventures of flexibility, ease and comfort offered by Twitter.

Besides, one of the enticing features which are uniquely embedded in Twitter is the aspect of reaching out to celebrities. Each celebrity adores the trends and features of Twitter and ensures their dominant presence by potential interaction with the fans. It is essential to highlight the reason which causes celebrities to harness their presence on twitter immensely. They aim at promoting their latest book, show, a movie on Twitter. In return, their fan base accumulates fans and the fans also get the opportunity to meet their celebrities on Twitter. The presence of a celebrity on twitter implies everyone can message him. In Facebook or other social networking platforms, celebrities are present but most of them are the fake accounts and the real accounts prefer not to respond or interact with the Facebook users. Irrefutably, Twitter accomplishes a competitive edge in this case and thus its use is productive.

Likewise, the specific word limit in a tweet makes Twitter stand out among other social networking platforms. In the contemporary age, people possess a short span of attention because of jumping from one source to other on the internet. This caused the advent of the term TL;DR which states Too Long; Didn’t Read. It has played a dominant role to ensure the success and popularity of Twitter. The specific limit of words causes people to get to the point and avoid reading or writing irrelevant details in their tweets.

To conclude, the instances highlighted above offer an explicit illustration of the argument that Twitter manifests in productivity and like other social networking platforms, it ought not to be deemed a waste. These aspects make Twitter unique and productive as it does not cause people to waste their time by reading lengthy and irrelevant blog posts or stupid jokes.

Meeting with people and interacting with communities, reading and writing tweets to the point and being aware of the breaking news are the prominent benefits dispense to the users of Twitter.

In the contemporary age, mass media is dictating the state of affairs. People have advanced to rely on instrumental tools to acquire information, entertainment and showcase their talent in the best plausible manner. YouTube, among other sensations, is one of the pioneers of the leading platforms for sharing videos with communities across the world free of cost. For children, the safety measures offer an exquisite platform for the parents to permit them to use it without receiving potential adverse consequences. However, a school of thought bashes the very existence of YouTube and prevents people from utilizing it. The perception is, irrefutably, flawed as empirical evidence supplements the notion that the advantages of YouTube exceed the disadvantages of using YouTube. From reaching a plethora of audience to making significant money, subscribers and users can cultivate potential rewards through it. YouTube manifests in dispensing massive advantages to the users and content makers and its opponents ought not to be paid heed.

To begin, the evident advantage of YouTube is the fundamental element of ubiquity and its essential content discovery tools. For instance, those who are not equipped with the established audience can reach out to YouTube as the only viable video distribution platform as the competitors as Daily motion lack the substance and audience to harness content discovery ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"E6HfTnMY","properties":{"formattedCitation":"({\\i{}YouTube & News | Pew Research Center})","plainCitation":"(YouTube & News | Pew Research Center)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":416,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/KWGZNE4C"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/KWGZNE4C"],"itemData":{"id":416,"type":"post-weblog","title":"YouTube & News | Pew Research Center","abstract":"News is becoming a major part of what Americans watch on YouTube. Empirical evidence exists where the influencers have dominated the sphere and progressed their career in a scintillating manner. Moreover, it offers free distribution of terabytes of information and hosting and further transfers it to millions of individuals across the globe. The default monetization tools also provide technical assistance to users. Thus, YouTube is the best platform to reach the audience and dictate the presence in the paradigm of content making.

In addition, the remarkable features associated with YouTube make the users avail tremendous gains easily and cheaply. It has become a mean to reach the media even after avoiding the complexities and vigorous attempts to dictate the presence on the television. Since the world has transformed into a global village, YouTube has become an excellent source to provide a solution. For instance, its services are clear and the viewers can stay up to date to a widespread dimension of videos. Infotainment, entertainment, suspense, thrill, drama and sports, all of these elements are manifested in using YouTube. Essentially, the feedback section further distinguishes between the worthy and unworthy content to make the users chose the best channel rather than putting efforts and time to explore their interest. Safe browsing, privacy features and immediate access to various videos are the other worthy hallmarks associated with YouTube. Such sublime are the manifestations of YouTube in the contemporary era which confronts the views of opponents in a plausible, reasonable and potential way.

Furthermore, it offers significant exposure to people who own websites and desire to reach yield immense traffic. If a person owns a website, he can acquire backlinks from YouTube after adding the site’s link to the profile page ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"RaDtKtFt","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(\\uc0\\u8220{}Gamers Making Millions on Youtube | 2019 Business Spotlight\\uc0\\u8221{})","plainCitation":"(“Gamers Making Millions on Youtube | 2019 Business Spotlight”)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":420,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/5PQ429SC"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/5PQ429SC"],"itemData":{"id":420,"type":"post-weblog","title":"Gamers Making Millions on Youtube | 2019 Business Spotlight","container-title":"The Ultimate Resource for Video Game Design","abstract":"Learn how a select group of gamers are caching in with gaming on Youtube. Similar is the case with other video makers. They can make videos pertinent to their articles and can have immediate and quality backlinks to that article. Amid all these incentives, the issue of competition has become a contentious debate. Since it is free to use without facing impediments and technical knowledge, a plethora of users have progressed to utilize YouTube as influencers and enhance the fan base to accomplish economic gains. It is, irrefutably, a concern for the new joiners but they are still presented with the primary opportunity to showcase their skills and gain a competitive advantage over their competitors.

Moreover, entrepreneurs and businesses can boost their marketing strategy and campaign through YouTube. Social media marketing has assumed a key role to reach the audience and entice them to use the product. Displaying advertisements on several videos in YouTube exposes the product to people and is a rational manner of attracting the audience without endeavoring and attempting to reach the audience through other ways ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"4wxv1MSn","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(\\uc0\\u8220{}Why YouTube Is Good For Business\\uc0\\u8221{})","plainCitation":"(“Why YouTube Is Good For Business”)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":417,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/79N24BGQ"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/79N24BGQ"],"itemData":{"id":417,"type":"webpage","title":"Why YouTube Is Good For Business","container-title":"ViewsReviews","abstract":"If you don't have a YouTube presence yet - what the hell are you waiting for??","URL":"https://viewsreviews.org/2017/01/youtube-good-business/","language":"en-US","issued":{"date-parts":[["2017",1,17]]},"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",4,24]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (“Why YouTube Is Good For Business”). It is critical to highlight the reach and variety embedded in YouTube as per the time zones of several states across the world. The small business owners as entrepreneurs promoting the services and products through videos, IT consultants and the experts of animation always make YouTube their foremost priority amid pertinent sources as Instagram and FaceBook. Thus, businesses can accelerate and ideas can be exposed via YouTube which further enhances its significance and credibility.

Likewise, educators and learners can make videos and others can learn from it even by sitting at home. It has replaced the need for affording expensive education and thus has transformed the entire structure of acquiring information and knowledge. The most significant aspect is the availability of tutorials, free of cost, on nearly every subject and discipline. It makes YouTube a potential learning platform for the children and parents who desire to homeschool their children can rely on it to harness productivity in their children without pursuing the traditional means.

To sum up, YouTube has transformed the traditional mode of advertisement, learning, earning and entertainment under the influence of a massive viewership and subscribers. Different channels can enhance the learning, offer entertainment and dispense productivity to the entrepreneurs and influencers. The bottom line is that YouTube underpins massive incentives and its opponents ought not to be paid heed.

(Education should be free for everyone)

Introduction

Education is termed as one of the most controversial topics of discussion because education is a choice for some and a necessity for others. It is a common observation that education is a necessity for those how are trying to bring a shift or change in their life patterns through knowledge while others find education as a choice that has no underlying approach towards obligation. The exegetical analysis of need assert and signifies the provision of free education while others with a silver spoon in their mouth don't bother. An ethical approach negates the struggle between chance and choice, but it asserts that everyone deserves to be educated. The idea of education as an "obligation" paves the way for the availability of resources for those who are not strong enough to afford it (Eric p. 3). There are two positions relevant to education; on one side, it is asserted that education should be free for everyone so that everyone can get an education. Other asserts, education should not be free because it defies the social pattern of economic regulation and conduct (Eric p. 3). An exegetical analysis highlights that there are different propositions associated with each position which needs to be analyzed; however, the overall assumption is, “education should be free for everyone”.

Discussion

Taking into account the ethical side and perspective, it seems very unfair that there are a lot of people who are lacking standards, and progression in their life just because they are not able to get an education. An ethical approach highlights that education is a necessity, and a virtue that differentiates man from animals. In the same way, education is a paradigm that can help to position an individual over the other in order to maintain societal hierarchy because the social structure is open to the eligibility criteria and believes in fair decision making that supports the deserving (Eric p. 3). It then directs to the idea that people can compete only if they would have the opportunities and option to learn, and get themselves educated equally to those for whom education is a choice, and nothing more than a piece of paper that adds to their sophistication. It is also asserted that the provision of free education is a provision of opportunity that can bring a realistic picture of the American Dream (Eric p. 3). It is observed that there are a lot of people who are left behind in the walk of life because they are not given the resources and opportunities that can ensure their success and progression.

According to the ethical approach, it is highlighted that today's world has moved far beyond the limits of resources and opportunities. Today success is meant for those who are more expert, having better backgrounds, and they have someone who is always available with strong economic supports. However, a universal approach directs thinking beyond the realms of American Dream and the fascination that are associated with its accomplishment (Sarun p. 4). It is observed that all the societies all around the globe have different economic sectors and education is the only source for those who have lineages of poverty and still, they have hope for a good future (Eric p. 5). Free education will help them get themselves enrolled in educations so that they can turn their dreams into reality. Moreover, it also brings the notion of equality; if there would be free education, then there would be a less affirmative approach to education types such as advanced and pro-advanced. Equal availability of education for everyone would diminish the underlying notions of so-called “modern education and good education’ that is not granted but sold with the number of currencies and the amount of wealth (Eric p. 5). If education would be free, then there would be more options for people to seek equal education in terms of available resources and institutions.

The notion of free education for everyone is also associated with the idea of “minimizing discrimination” (Sarun p. 3). If education would be free, then there would be more opportunities for racist people to keep Others (belonging to other races and ethnicity) away from seeking education. Free education will bring all races and creeds on the same board of education where all generations and classes would be having an equal approach to education. Providing free education for everyone will diminish many social demerits and deteriorating factors such as “Child Labor”. There are a lot of people who are forced to work because they can’t manage to afford education (Eric p. 2). For such students, free education would be a support that can ensure both moral and ethical upheaval. Moreover, it would allow students to take full advantage of education by adding to the economic sectors of the country. It is observed that there are a lot of people who are striving hard to get an education, but this struggle also includes part-time jobs that can help to fulfil the expenditures of education. The idea of promoting free education will mitigate class conflict, which is another societal demerit. It is brought into insight that students are doomed to inferiority complex when they see different avenues of education for the upper-class children and then those highly educated children brag about their knowledge and education that they borrow by the strength of their money (Eric p. 2). There are a lot of people who have taken education as one of the best paying business, so equal education will reduce this notion and address the needs of people respectively.

There are a lot of long term goals that are associated with the provision of free education for everyone. Today, corruption is one of the most critical and controversial issues that need to be addressed with due efforts (Sarun p. 3). It is asserted that the provision of equal education will allow people to think critically and get exposure to the happenings in this world, which will impart education regarding good and bad. It is one of the steps that will empower individuals, societies, and nations, ultimately leading to global empowerment. It is also highlighted that if the responsibilities of a state are viewed, it is brought into knowledge that state affairs will work more smoothly if both upper and lower classes are brought on the same board. Moreover, it is one of the moral responsibility of the state to ensure the provision of education or resources of education for all the people who are residing in a state (Sarun p. 3).

There are several arguments that are proposed to negate the idea of free education for everyone, such as, free education will reduce the worth of education. It is evident that even today, there are a lot of people who are taking education as a matter of choice because they can get degrees of their choice from any of the institutions by giving money. According to Sarun, (2018), it is proposed that free education should not be provided to everyone because the money that is gained from institutions in the form of taxes and other resources is just a source of economy for the state. It is asserted that the country and state would progress more if there would be more educated people, and there would be an equal opportunity for everyone to show their skills because a lot of unskilled people have to live the life of a deprived being because of the lack of opportunities that can help them flourish (Sarun p. 4). Another argument that is proposed for the provision of free education is, it would demerit education because no one will take the issue of education serious, human beings are more toward exploiting resources that are always available. It is asserted that there are many other resources and opportunities that are exploited in the hands of power owners because there is no check and balance. The provision of free education will let people decide their fate on themselves (Sarun p. 4). It will not only allow people to address their action relative to what are they ought to do, but they will be given a full chance of getting themselves facilitated by the opportunities which are equal and compatible with all the avenues of life.

Conclusion

It is concluded that the idea of "providing free education for everyone" is equally supported and negated. There are both positive and negative aspects associated with the idea of free education for everyone because it will consume the resources of the state, empower the avenues of judgment and decrease economic support. On the other hand, providing free education to everyone will result in a more positive approach to the country or state that would be void of materials approach to education, equal opportunities of education for all races, and creeds along with a positive approach to this world. Although several arguments such as exploitation and lack of worth of education, in the long run, are credible and significant still, it is necessary to address the broader and brighter vision of this world. In a nutshell, it is asserted that free education should be available to everyone so that the American Dream, along with the notion of "hard work, pays off" can be brought to a realistic vision. Moreover, it will diminish the negative gaps that exist between people, and their authorities regarding the provision of education, because children are the key to the success of the country which cannot be denied at any cost.

Title: Should College Athletes be paid?

Every year, college sports generate revenue of millions of dollars in the United States. CBS commits to pay billions of dollars per year for broadcasting NCAA, and for the first time in history, the value of March Madness is placed at about $1 billion per year. There is a continuous gashing conversation on the topic of should college athletes be paid or not. Chiefly, the question arises on two main sports, football and basketball, since these two sports bring most of the money to the college, and arguments for and against are many. College athletes ought to be paid by college and outside agencies because sports bring billions of dollars in revenue; it is no higher than players can earn in the free labor market, and it is a full-time job.

The fact is, they currently are paid in a way, and they get free tuition. Surely, that is a valuable thing, but unfortunately, most student-athletes do not care a lot about their education. That is the reason that they tend to choose "easy" majors so that they can coast by while focusing mainly on athletics. Beyond the fact that their education is generally worthless, there is one huge, huge factor in this opinion. As a whole, student-athletes bring an immense amount of revenue to a university, and in the biggest schools, athletics brings in hundreds of millions of dollars per year. It is borderline disgusting to think that the actual people who are responsible for bringing in that money do not see a cent of it. Besides, administration, coaches and university presidents get multi-million dollar pay-checks per year. There are video games that use the likenesses of college players (but without using their names, generally), but players receive no remuneration for the efforts. The NCAA as a whole is a racket aimed at making money at the expense of student-athletes. It is an exploitative business that pays its money-earners $0.

To be more precise, universities should have the option to pay their athletes. At present, many universities take it upon themselves not to offer athletic scholarships at all or not to offer scholarships to athletes playing less lucrative sports, and that's fine. They can't build a powerhouse Division 1 football or basketball program like that, but there's nothing wrong with it ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"9gI5Hk9Z","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Shaffer)","plainCitation":"(Shaffer)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":1339,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/5NEFVFFQ"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/5NEFVFFQ"],"itemData":{"id":1339,"type":"thesis","title":"Should Division I Football and Men’s Basketball Student-Athletes be Paid?","publisher":"figshare","author":[{"family":"Shaffer","given":"Colin"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2015"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Shaffer). It should be easy to see that many athletes' total compensation is less than it would be if there were a free market for their labor. This is corroborated by a few things, schools (and people whose incentives are closely aligned with the schools) continue to violate NCAA restrictions on athlete compensation despite the history of programs being debilitated for similar acts.

Most of the players at big revenue-generating programs earn exactly as much as they are allowed to earn i.e., a full-tuition scholarship. One is almost certainly underpaid when there is an artificial limit on how much compensation one can receive, and they end up earning exactly that much anyway. Moreover, Violations of NCAA regulations don't often seem to rise to the level of being illegal in the outside world. In a quest to be consistent, the NCAA has had to come up with incredibly complicated laws to ban many straightforward actions simply because they can be equated with monetary payment relatively easily. Not only are they not illegal, but they're not even things that we'd find immoral in any other context. NCAA regulations are not laws: they're just conventions that schools agree to because they don't trust each other not to pay athletes.

It also raises a number of questions, such as are college sports providing some good to society that they couldn't provide if players were being paid? Is that good adequate justification for suppressing athlete compensation artificially? There is no argument that one can found convincing. Thus, for Division 1’s basketball and football, since they are, the majority of the time - the only profit centers under debate. For some schools, maybe some other sports would make money for them as an exception. As long as the sport is a profit center, it makes sense for the athletes to share in the spoils.

In addition, college athletes should be “allowed to be paid” by outside agencies, such as pro teams or sports agents, if not by the colleges themselves. There are many reasons for that; first, not all college athletes should be paid. For most of them, scholarships are more than equal value. However, for some NFL and NBA prospects, these kids bring in millions of dollars to the school, and THAT is not an equal exchange of values. Secondly, NCAA and colleges always claim that they are interested in creating student-athletes. It is true in most cases, but they do recruit hard for basketball players and some college players who have no intention of graduating. Some say that having pro scouts and agents on campuses will ruin the purity of the game. Instead of trying to enforce rules that cannot be enforced, make it legal and have the star players get the money that they deserve.

Furthermore, Pro teams should be able to draft college and high school players and still allow them to play in college, with a guaranteed pro contract. If creating student-athletes is what the colleges are going after, providing financial security will allow these kids to stay in school longer without the pressure of chasing the money. Besides, providing payment to all scholarship athletes make the athlete's employees of the university, and can create several legal problems. 1) Scholarship money the students receive has to be taxed as an income. 2) If a student gets hurt, he/she can sue the university or file for worker's comp.

College sports is also a full-time job, and these athletes cannot have a job on the side. It is impossible. The fact that these athletes are not paid is beyond ludicrous. College players also need the freedom to deal with the schools and NCAA. Payment would be part of deals, but that might not be prime for many of them. Education, food, housing, medical insurance, life insurance, etc. are all items that could be subjects of deals. Due to the young age of these players, they would need rep either individually or in groups like unions or specific sports groups to counter the overwhelming power and money that schools and the NCAA have. A lot of athletes, especially those who are a part of developing countries, usually face a lot of financial problems back home ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"0pMjuWTZ","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Parent)","plainCitation":"(Parent)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":1340,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/RI5HLEWW"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/RI5HLEWW"],"itemData":{"id":1340,"type":"article-journal","title":"Forward Progress-An Analysis of Whether Student-Athletes Should Be Paid","container-title":"Va. Their parents most often encourage they are into sports so that they could help themselves by expecting some monetary benefits or special talent quota for education and their sports career. Any form of support or funding would put less pressure on their parents as these athletes turn out to be self-reliant.

Sports in this generation have become more advanced compared to that of how it was back in the days. There are the most efficient ways of training, which give all the athletes the ability to grow faster. Nutrition, too, has advanced a lot. There are varieties of authentic supplements that are available in the market. These supplements are very expensive and usually would last for only a month or so. Nutrition and Diet are a major key to success in most of the sporting fields; funding college athletes would help them to have easy access to high-quality nutrition, which is essential for the growth of an athlete. It would help in improving the quality of any sport in especially an underdeveloped country. The more any college sport is being funded; there is more chance of quality players joining that particular sport. With the rising cost of youth sports, talented athletes tend to back off without even going to the next level as they tend to quit initially. So with the help of college funding, there can be a fall in sports dropouts and give a chance for underprivileged athletes to prove themselves.

Nonetheless, some of the common arguments against paying them include, they are provided with scholarships, & free room & board, College is a sort of an internship where you get to learn, hone, and showcase your talents. In addition, NCCA is a nonprofit organization; the revenues are redirected to helping millions of student-athletes and athletic departments. Besides, money tarnishes the sporting aspect of it. All of which makes no sound position. The question should be on what the best way to remunerate these college athletes is. Should Basketball athletes be paid more than the track & field ones? Do the starters get different pay scale than the bench players? Can we do this without killing the goose that lays the golden eggs? Work-study is federal aid, and every institution does not make money on their athletic program. Some institutions are struggling to field competitive teams or to have a team at all. The solution needs to take that into account, as well as schools small enough not to offer athletic scholarships and still compete under the NCAA flag of sports.

THEO CHOCOLATE: CASE STUDY ANALYSIS

In the context of the given case study of Theo Chocolate, it is evident that it has attained a myriad of creative and positive initiatives as a business. Fair trade policies, organic production processes, and premium quality are among the most religiously followed strategies of Theo Chocolate. And if Theo Chocolate wants to devise a marketing strategy to captivate the favor of North American consumers then the green and ethically asserted fair trade practices and organic production of Theo Chocolate are most pragmatic one to gain the considerable market share. Because these business aspects are imperative in:

Establishing rapport with business's stakeholders such as suppliers and consumers

Reflecting the notion that through organically produced chocolates, the business is concerned about the health of its consumers.

Fair trade practices establish a positive image of the business and make it eminently acceptable among consumers, producers, and suppliers and other stakeholders.

Fairtrade proffers a bridge to connect producers with buyers and affirms the need for social equality and justice

Evidently, consumers tend to support products which are produced with a substantial concept of fair trade in order to show their support for producers/ farmers

Fair trade policies offer businesses a reliable way to assure a positive impact for all the involved people at the end of manufacturing and servicing chain

Fair Trade nurtures improved social and economic constancy and promotes environmental sustainability

Through fair trade, producers get a chance of empowerment and to comprehend the implied market conditions, that in turn establishes the overall economy

Fair trade practices underline the significance of stable prices and help to cover sustainable production's expenditures.

The idea of fair trade is strongly interconnected to communal benefits, and the underlying businesses of coffee and chocolate are highly under-discussion in this regard. And through incorporating fair trade policies and other relevant ethical business practices, Theo Chocolate can attract a huge customer base. Through highlighting the fair trade policies' aspect Theo Chocolate can boost its marketing campaign's efficacy because all the stakeholders including producers, farmers, consumers, and other intermediaries will support Theo in this noble cause.

Secondly, the ethical and green practice of organic production is equally beneficial for the fruition of Theo Chocolates' marketing campaign.

Considerate management of inputs and outputs protects the environment, mitigates wastage, and utilizes by-products greenly.

Most People of the modern epoch are conscious about their fitness, health, and nutrients intake, and in order to attract such consumers organic chocolate is perfect product because it proffers tons of health benefits, reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, and is antioxidant

Producing organic edibles specifically coca is not an easy task, and therefore needs careful planning and hard work, and the yield is comparatively low in quantity. Yet, there are only a few other chocolate producers that are offering organic chocolates, moreover, sustainability is favored recently as the most approvable corporate strategy. In this context, Theo Chocolate can elucidate its green practices and can employ its organically-made chocolaty attributes throughout its marketing campaign to achieve sizeable competitive advantages.

Marketing campaigns are an integral mechanism to elevate the business's customer base, image, sales, and in turn its profitability. Following the ethical frameworks along with modern approaches makes a business distinct from other rivals and helps it to reach the apex of competitiveness. Therefore, it can be said that ethical practices of implementing fair trade policies and sustainability practices throughout the business process will earn Theo Chocolate the favor of loyal customer-base.

Marketing campaigns are communicational objectives that relay the company's message through a coherent and thematic way, and n this context, social and ethical responsibility is the most effective theme in today's competitive world.

Theo Chocolate understands the implied notion and conducts consumers' educational visits at its factories to make them realize the connotation of organic process and fair practices.

Along with fair trade practices and organic and green productions, Theo Chocolate can surpass the performance standards through its premium quality.

Theo Chocolate is known for its artisan chocolates since its commencement

Because of selected beans and premium production, Theo Chocolate received Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation (SOFI) award in the first year of its operations

Pursuing quality is an effective marketing strategy but it may have a few concerns such as:

A myriad of competitors in the industry that made the quality secondary preferences in some cases

Not a contemporary attraction

Quality should be a must in products, and therefore is not something innovative or comparatively alluring

Moreover, in the absence of an ethical and social framework, the concept of quality is futile for Theo Chocolate because:

Theo Chocolate's mission highlights the essence of social responsibility to an exacerbated extent and is their driving force

Theo's employees are proudly motivated because they are partaking in the making of a unique and "socially responsible product" (Butcher & Wilson, 2014), and therefore the only emphasize on quality will not be beneficial neither for production nor for marketing

At the time of Theo Chocolate's startup, there were only 15 companies, which were expert in making quality chocolate. However, Theo entered the market as the first organic chocolate producers and the similar distinctiveness established the standards for the company

By analyzing the above content it becomes evident that Theo Chocolate necessitates elaborating its social and ethical practices through a marketing campaign to address and attract a wide category of consumers. Fair trade policies, preventive measure toward slavery and child labor, as well as farmers and producers' empowerment along with organic production will impact Theo's brand image to a great extent. Moreover, the incorporation of such environmental friendly and social supportive gestures will motivate other businesses to follow the lead.

Effects of Anti-vaccination on the Nation

Public health has always been an important issue to the governments and authorities all over the world. There are some infectious diseases that pose threat to human life and sometimes may even result in death. One of the most common and successful public health interventions used since a long time is vaccination for controlling these diseases. The process of vaccination was first introduced in the year 1963 when a disease named measles killed almost 2.6 million people in the world. The development of vaccinations was a great achievement of the scientific age as by the end of that century the vaccine was successful in saving the lives of 21 million people. However, during the last decade vaccinations have lost their importance and their success and utilization has gone into reverse. The main reason for this is the misunderstanding of people about vaccination and its side effects. The World Health Organization (WHO) in a recent report states that there have been 90,000 measles cases in the initial six months of this year and the United States is facing the biggest outbreak of measles for 27 years. This is because of vaccination refusal by the people who have developed a mistrust in the process of vaccination believing it to be causing autism and other hazardous effects on human health. The World Economic Forum has pointed out digital misinformation related to the threats of vaccination. Social media platforms have also played a major role in shaping the ideas and beliefs of people by giving them negative and untrue messages about vaccines.

According to the WHO, “The benefits of vaccination greatly outweigh the risks, and many more illness and deaths would occur without vaccines.” People have started believing that vaccination has a highly increased chance of causing autism to children. They believe that the vaccines contain harmful toxins in larger amounts such as aluminum, mercury, and formaldehyde. However, many studies have been successful in showing that these are just myths about vaccination. There is neither any link of vaccines to autism nor they contain any harmful toxins. They improve the immune system of a child to make their body able to fight off the infectious diseases. The WHO stated that from 2000-2017 there has been a decrease of 80% deaths due to measles. It shows that vaccination is a much safer choice that can save a child from suffering deadly and serious illness. The substances that are present in vaccinations are not harmful; there quantity is very low and they cause no harm to the body of humans. The anti-vaccination can have many dangerous effects on the lives of people. It would make them exposed to a number of contagious diseases that may even result in the death of a child. Therefore, parents should stop believing in the myths spread about vaccination and research about the facts related to the positive outcomes of the process of vaccination.

Is Citizen Privacy or National Security More Important?

Introduction

An effort to reconcile national security with individual privacy is indeed a daunting task that does not guarantee a welcoming solution in the immediate future. Different discussions are taking place around this topic where individuals with opposing points of view are striving to make certain that their views are valid. Now the questionable matter is: Is citizen privacy or national security more Important? It is also the delicate existence of both principles that renders it incredibly hard to determine which one is more relevant. National security is given preference over citizen's privacy, nevertheless, given the evidence that people typically value national security more than citizen's privacy. My argument will be supported by the evidence of the legal status of National Security vs. Citizen's Privacy question, Professional Analysis, and Global affairs Impact. This paper will also give rational arguments and refute arising from my claims that will illustrate that priority is given to national security over citizen's privacy.

Discussion

Following the 9/11 strike on the United States of America, the development and implementation of the United States of America Patriot Act reflect the necessity of national security before citizen's privacy. National security and privacy laws emerged after the terrorist activities on September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center in the United States of America. After the bombings, measures were implemented to strengthen the U.S. Patriot Act by the members ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"k2HGFjJg","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(The Data Base Book)","plainCitation":"(The Data Base Book)","dontUpdate":true,"noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"yoT7onHA/2mMXcy6I","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/CKNkWnK9/items/VX3PEZ3C"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/CKNkWnK9/items/VX3PEZ3C"],"itemData":{"id":458,"type":"article","title":"Privacy vs Security. This was intentionally done to provide security officers with a formal forum for the perusal and detention of extremist perpetrators. Various views on this policy were articulated, with followers claiming that protecting the public before considering the secrecy of people was critically important.

As per a survey conducted in 2008 between IT experts, results revealed that national security received unwavering support concerning citizen's privacy. Throughout this report, fifty-three percent of 474 IT professionals reported that national security was critical in the states ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"ynKRUmSl","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Jones)","plainCitation":"(Jones)","dontUpdate":true,"noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"yoT7onHA/qWG4J78j","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/CKNkWnK9/items/ESGB8JUS"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/CKNkWnK9/items/ESGB8JUS"],"itemData":{"id":453,"type":"article-newspaper","container-title":"InformationWeek","title":"National Security Trumps Personal Privacy, Government IT Pros Say.","URL":"Retrieved from http://www.informationweek.com/news/206901345","author":[{"family":"Jones","given":"K."}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2008"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Jones, 2008). They found that national protection is particularly important for the survival of the entire population. Those opportunities would imply that intelligence agencies could track a suspect and probably stop any activity that would endanger the protection of citizens.

The United States government's strong views also suggest a preference for national security over citizen's privacy. United States rendered it mandatory for all foreign airlines to reveal confidential information regarding their passengers after the 9/11 attack ( ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"8yDF3EI3","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Homeland Security)","plainCitation":"(Homeland Security)","dontUpdate":true,"noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"yoT7onHA/lHOlfDtI","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/CKNkWnK9/items/GGJ57BS5"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/CKNkWnK9/items/GGJ57BS5"],"itemData":{"id":456,"type":"article","title":"EU Individual Privacy Rights versus U.S. Homeland Security","URL":"http://www.brianrowe.org/infoprivacylaw/2011/04/16/eu-individual-privacy-rights-versus-u-s-homeland-security-2/","author":[{"family":"Homeland Security","given":"Information Privacy Law"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2011"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} Homeland Security, 2011). This was aimed at preventing the invasion of offenders into the territory. Nevertheless, the US stance reveals that she is not willing to make compromises on her national security. This is because, when national security is made certain, citizen's security is also guaranteed.

A counterargument indicates that opponents were particularly open-minded in suggesting that enforcing such laws will violate the constitution proclaimed civil liberties. This represented the unconstitutionality of such legislation. Citizen's privacy is considered a privilege under the Constitution of the United States of America (Mitrano, 2013). Although proponents of citizen's privacy who reference the constitutional provision that guarantees civil rights are mistaken. America's Charter does not regard citizen privacy as a civil right. Because the charter does not use the word "privacy," it is hence theoretically misleading to say that perhaps the law protects citizen's privacy. Because of this viewpoint, security is a fundamental need to which everyone has the legal obligation. Therefore, national security dominates citizen's privacy and occupies the first slot.

Conclusion

Each person deserves the right to confidentiality. Even though, it is rather complex to affirm if citizen's privacy is given precedence over national security. Based on the multiple studies, the consideration given to national security over citizen's privacy has been quite prominent. This is why many initiatives have been introduced by the United States of America to provide transparency to Intel agencies to acquire private details for security reasons alone. It would not be incorrect to say that priority is given to national security since citizen’s privacy does not come into existence without national security is ensured. Following the initial event of 9/11, it was known that, due to the growing epidemic of conflict and war, the nation is threatened with extension. So, understanding the government's position in this context is necessary as it guarantees mankind's existence before confidentiality. Unless national security is assured, there will also be citizen's privacy, although citizen’s privacy is revoked if national security is not safeguarded. Entities may only become capable of exercising the privileges unless there is a state to safeguard them from the external powers. Citizen security is a luxury, whereas national security is essential for survival. If there is no protection that guarantees safety, what is the meaning of citizen's security? In respect to monitoring, numerous research indicates that no details are exposed to the general public. National security is thus shown to be more significant than citizen's privacy as people typically value national security.

Introduction

Lifestyle has been changed over time and eating habits could be looked upon as one of the most evident aspects of human life, when this advancement of life is concerned. People are becoming addict to the eatables that are readily available and can be prepared in lesser time than usual food. Fast food is the name given to those food items that are either pre-cooked or can be prepared in less time as compared to the regular food. Although fast food can be cooked or ordered within no time, its negative effects cannot be undermined. Fast food could only satisfy taste buds as it has no nutritional value and side effects of consuming such food are usually not revealed in menus. A list of negative effects of fast food products could be looked upon on human health. A parting line has been witnessed between two groups of people. One who believes that customers, should be blamed for unhealthy diets that lead them towards health issues like obesity, but other group claims that not people but the fast-food chains must be blamed for appealing customers towards such unhealthy food because of which they are facing many health issues i.e. obesity.

Discussion

Health issues are increasing in the 21st century like never before and obesity has become one of the major health issues of the world. According to the reports, 35.7% of adults, 16.9% kids and 30.4% of preschoolers are facing the issue of obesity in the U.S. A gradual rise has been witnessed in the rate of victims suffering from obesity and fast food chains must be blamed for dragging them towards various health crises so common at present. Fast food chains must be blamed for making fast food products so popular among people. It has become difficult for customers to resists the appealing and mouthwatering fast food items.

It is important to keep this fact in consideration that generally people make things trendy, but in the case of food fast, it is the restaurant and fast food chains that are influencing the choice of customers (Sturm & Deborah, pp. 1088-1097). Food fast has become the first choice of youngsters as they target them psychologically by dragging their attention towards the taste and appearance of the food fast items. Food fast chains never let the customers think of the nutritional factors of the food offered by them as they become so indulged in satisfying their taste buds.

A fast-food restaurant tries to appeal its customers by making them psychological victims. They pay attention to the taste and garnishing of the food items, and ignore the nutritional elements. Fast food restaurants offer junk food with minimum rates and people get attracted towards the low price food as it seems affordable to them. For example, McDonald's offers fast food at lesser rates and youngsters thought, they could only afford these unhealthy food items so they never think about the harmful effects of junk food on their health. Food fast catalyzes obesity and there is a need to educate people that they must look at the fact that how much nutrition a food is carrying that they may consume daily from different restaurants.

It has been witnessed that fast food restaurants are deviating from the ethical pathways as despite knowing the harmful effects of unhealthy junk food on people that are promoting it by all means. Ethical they must make people aware that fast food is becoming a cause of many diseases. Especially unhealthy food has increased population drastically that is fighting with obesity (Bagaric & Sharon, pp. 323-339). Fast food restaurants must be blamed for becoming ignorant of the fact that the food items that they are selling at their outlets are making people obese that leads to other serious diseases such as heart diseases. It is heart-drenching fact that fast-food chains are making fast food the main part of their menus as fast food items are rising their sales. Fast-food chains are just focusing on their revenues that have been raised because of junk food and they are purposely giving more fast food choices to their customers with cheap rates so that they would be attracted to those food products. Though this fact cannot be denied that customers must take a look at the food they are consumers but if the restaurants would not give them open offers of junk food they won’t be able to order fast food.

Conclusion

Taking into account the above-mentioned facts, it could be said that fast-food restaurants are not only changing people's way of living but at the same time are affecting eating habits that lead to obesity and other health issues. Restaurants must take it as a moral obligation to discourage excessive consumption of fast food and must label with the food products with exact calories and effects that customers may have in the future. Fast food chains must take the responsibility of making people aware of the health issues that they may have for excessive intake of junk food. They must educate people through the advertisement about the damaging effects and must increase the price of fast food items so that it could be taken away from the approach of youngsters (students). Fast food chains must take help from the nutritionist become finalizing their menus and must ask them to give suggestion so that unhealthy food could be replaced with healthy food options, that would bring back customers toward healthy food again.

Should Scott Peterson be criminally liable for the charges of "Child Neglect" and "Culpable Negligence" for the deaths of students at Marjory Stone man Douglass High School?

Introduction

On 14th February 2018, Scott Peterson was arrested and under the statutes in Florida State law was charged with two violations. Child Neglect and Culpable Negligence were the charges placed on Scot Peterson. As a deputy, he was assigned to the resource officer at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. These charges arose from the reasoning that during a school shooting incident Deputy Scot Peterson did not perform his duties well as he put his safety and welfare above the ones he was supposed to protect. This essay will try to analyze the circumstances surrounding the incident and will prove why Deputy Scot Peterson should be found guilty of Child Neglect and Culpable Negligence.

Claims

According to Florida State law, Culpable Negligence is defined as when someone fails to take care of another person and that the other person becomes injured or is vulnerable to one due to the negligence of the primary person. Under this law, this is a misdemeanor and is punishable by fifteen years of incarceration. By running away from his duties to protect the students under his charge, Deputy Scot Peterson created a prime circumstance for the students to get hurt or even be killed by a mentally unstable individual. He might not have directly inflicted any harm on the children but his negligence did lead to the pain and suffering caused to the ones who lost their loved ones that day.

Furthermore, most of the people who died and were injured in the Parkland Shooting or the Shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were children. Deputy Scot Peterson was given the necessary training and equipment to subdue any assailant that might have had any intention of harming the students/children that were currently enrolled in the school. His act of cowardice led to the suffering of children and students and some even lost their lives in the process. This makes him guilty under the Florida State Law for child neglect, which states that penalties are present such as prison or fine for those caregivers that fail in providing care to children and may become the cause of harm or death for said children.

Moreover, according to the statement of Sheriff Israel, Deputy Scot Peterson did not even abide by law enforcement regulations as he did not enter the premises to assess where the target is. There is also video evidence that clearly shows Deputy Scot Peterson going the opposite way of the shooting for forty-eight minutes leaving the people under his charge defenseless.

Counterclaims

However, the fact is clearly visible that Deputy Scot Peterson was being used as a scapegoat by blaming the whole school shooting on his shoulders. The fact is that he was the only one who was charged in the whole Broward Sherrif’s office and no other culprit was even investigated. Furthermore, his trial was rushed and it was clearly visible as a sign of a coverup. Eight days is such a small timeframe of investigating an incident of such a large scale. Proper time and resources should have been employed to carefully assess the situation. Lastly, nobody knows why Deputy Peterson kept the deputies back from the building. He maybe did it so the shooter would not get agitated and kill more people. The reasoning behind his decision would have been clearly known if the investigation had been properly.

Conclusion

However, Deputy Scot Peterson’s action during this crisis was not acceptable and clearly showed that he valued his life more than the life of the people he was supposed to protect. It is understandable that the investigation was rushed but this could be due to multiple reasons even rising pressure from the public itself. In regards to the facts stated in the case, it seems very probable that Deputy Scot Peterson is guilty of the charges placed upon him.

Cyberbullying – Unethical but not Illegal?

Dani Brownwalker

Introduction

There are two ways to live a life in this world. The one is a good way, and the other is a wrong way. Similarly, we can say that one way is ethical and the other way is highly unethical, but when considering the case of philosophy and moral codes, there are various ways in which the illegal acts are considered as legal as per the requirement of the situation in the practical field. There are multiple phenomena's in the world which are usually regarded as legitimate in the world but at the same time looking in some other context, that phenomena are considered is illegal. Cyberbullying is an unethical and immoral activity that is considered absolutely unacceptable through social media platforms, however, it is often not considered illegal while the victim continues to be harassed.

Cyberbullying – Illegal or Unethical?

Various criminal activities leave a significant mark on the mind and personality of the people. Similar is the situation of the illegal activities that are occurring now in the technological world. These activities that were usually observed in the daily lives happening in lives of people like bullying took the step ahead. With the time it was noticed that these activities were now taking place on where social media platforms and they were increasing with the increment of members and increment of the social media platforms that targeting in the bullying was growing. This time the platforms were not only Facebook but the open platforms like Orkut or Twitter where everything is visible to all the viewers globally. With this issue, many of the people have been victimized and have gone through adverse effects on their mind, and they came to a point which is their breaking point and as a result, they either become patients of some psychological disorders, or they opt to commit suicide as a last option as all these activities become highly torturous. This was the time when the authoritative people need to look into the matter sincerely this can either have the pros and cons in both ways that can either help the people and at the same time they can be profoundly devastating for the people.

Every phenomenon that occurs in the world leaders towards the severe pros and cons in the world. Either they can be favorable for the persona and can generate a massive and severe impact on the lives of the people.

With the advent of technology, there was a rapid and massive increment in the crime son the platforms of social media (Holfeld & Mishna, 2018). Initially, the purpose of the social media was to provide the information in the quickest way to the user and save their time and energy and provide them everything within no time. By the time prolonged the activities took a negative turn in this field where they had moved towards a point where the heinous and torturous crimes like bullying started taking place on the social media platforms. Not only to that context had these crimes taken a next level turn where the people began facing severe issues relevant to the point where they go through mental stress and severe mental breakdown (Livingstone, Stoilova & Kelly, 2016).

These issues can lead towards the risk of life and there comes the point where the victim feels high demotivation towards life and comes out with no solution. This is the point when the person believes that there is no other option besides reaching an end to quit this life forever. This is the point when they think that suicide is the only option that can give them relief from all the hatred comments and negativities from life. These all activities can be highly dangerous for the people as this can risk their lives.

Opposing Arguments

Contrary to that if we look at the pros of the cyberbullying in the technological industry, it has given an immense amount of facilities to the people (Wang, Iannotti & Nansel, 2009). It can help to reveal the people on the social media who are into the account of bullying other and spreading all the negativity on the social media platforms and creating severe chaos. Similarly, the additional advantage of cyberbullying is that due to their increasing activities, it has given awareness to the people to take sharp and harsh actions on the nature of the work of these people. In response to the events of these people, the cyber crime department was launched to overcome all these issues in the field of cyber world (Agatston, Kowalski & Limber, 2007).

While there is a wide agreement on the unethicality and immorality of cyberbullying no matter what it scope was, there are still certain arguments presented in favor of the claim that cyberbullying cannot be considered illegal. First argument to support this opposing claim is in reference to ‘freedom of speech’. For instance, a personal may spread hate speech or heated remarks about another person, party, etc. through social media. This may harm the reputation of the victim. However, he may defend himself under the constitutional clause of freedom of speech since he may not be brining any physical harm to anyone.

Another argument in favor of opposition is on the basis of ‘virtuality’ of cyber world. Some may argue that what happens online is a virtual activity that may lack any physical evidence, credibility or significance. Therefore, it is improper to impose any physical law, legislation or regulation on such acts.

While these arguments do exist in favor of cyberbullies, this cannot be denied that any act – physical, emotional or virtual – that brings emotional, physical or psychological trauma to the victims is considered unethical and immoral. And must be avoided at all costs.

These were not only a few of the advantages one of the most significant gains that triggers the people of underworld by creating online traps and as a result it helps the officials and the intelligence agencies to pick all these convicts so that there can be lesser amount of activities that can be seen on the social media and the platforms provided on the internet. This also gives an alarm to the parents to have a keen observation of the activities of their children.

Conclusion

By look at both sides of the topic, the point which we conclude is that everything has some advantages and the disadvantages too. It entirely depends upon the user that how the user wants to utilize the technology. The utilization of technology develops the pros and cons of all the terms and all the scenarios that occur in the society without which it gets highly stressful for the people to opt the right path. As per the recommendations of all the researchers is to move towards the positive aspect of all the fields to eradicate all the negativities from the community.

Poverty and Women Mental Health

Introduction

A very famous quotation, “Money can’t buy happiness” seems a wonder box when there is constant exposure to the skint environment around. It is evident that solvency does not guarantee and certain happiness but it is important to consider that grinding poverty, and a continuous stance of financial anxiety makes life difficult. Women are treated as the mangers of society as they are the ones who have to address all the consequences of life being a counterpart to male existence. Sometimes it is single warriors who are trying their best to cater to the social norms and values adhering to the stance of patience. (Paltiel, et, al. 2018). In the realms of facts and figures that consider that there is an increasing ratio of women who are a victim to mental health, it seems strange to consider this phenomenon, but there is a complete spectrum that infers significance of issue. It is important to highlight that women are more towards emotional destruction, side by side half of the counter part's stress is shared by the females. The estimates of the number of women who are suffering from PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, agoraphobic as well as serious mental disorder such a bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are an approach to bring into consideration reason behind. (Paltiel, et, al. 2018). The analyses of such reasons assert certain question such as if poverty distracts men then who is the victim of depression? Women are less paid; how does it impact her? How women cater to the abuse of “insufficiency"? Why man feel satisfied if there is sufficient money? All these questions highlight the fact that "poverty has a direct impact on the mental health of women."

Discussion

According to the analysis of a report for the Young Women trust, it can be brought into insight that a glum picture of women mental illness and poverty is painted. The Worrying times has brought into insight that every third of women feels more anxious every now and then. It is unsurprising to know that about 45% of young women are a victim of mental health. If a few hours are spent in a public mental health system, it can be inferred that the females that are a victim to mental health are mostly poor. What comes first, poverty or mental illness? According to the census from the U.S Bureau of Census, about 4.1 million people aged, 18-64 years are living below federal poverty line. It automatically paves the way for the fact that if there is nothing in life, there would be anxiety and it will ultimately pave the way for mental illness. It is important to consider why women? (Francis East, et, al. 2015). According to the American Psychological Association, women are more towards societal roles because in a patriarchal society, men are just assigned the task to earn and women have to manage. The increased ratio of single mothers is also a fact that highlights that continues poverty promotes continuous mental torture resulting in hampering and permanent illness. It is a common assumption that in many of African American women are facing additional inequalities such as fewer wages. In many of the organizations and workplaces, either all women or many women belonging to a particular race are a victim to inadequate economic conditions. Women are paid less and being single mothers it is hard to catch up with the increasing cost of child health care. (Francis East, et, al. 2015).

About 29% of Black, 24% of Asian and 29% of mixed race women are suffering from mental disorders, and the analysis of underlying features addresses poverty. It is important to note that mental health issues are observed before the age of 24 years. About 25% of women have observed to be a victim of mental disorder; about 26% of young women are experiencing Common Mental disorder such as depression and anxiety. About 1 in 7 young women have PSTD, and 72% are admitted for suicide counseling. All these figures highlight that major section of women mental health can be localized to the increasing measure of poverty.

It is also asserted that women are more towards the emotional background, so they take happening seriously. It is an undeniable fact that women hold the responsibility of family and a male counterpart hardly resist “insufficiency", the stance of being dominant has greatly impacted the situation. (Paltiel, et, al. 2018). In many of the cases, consistency in poverty has resulted in abuse and domestic violence because it is hard for the female who has to manage a three times meals. It is argued that men have to earn and they should be a victim to mental disorders. In response, it would not be wrong to say that as per analysis; a greater ratio of women is recorded who are a victim to mental health as compared to men. It is imperative in addressing the stance that a rich family is less toward mental stress because unavailability is the greatest tool that can hamper the crux of living.

It would not be wrong to say that poverty is the root cause of all social and moral deterioration. An absence of material things weakens everything associated with a man such a relationship, charm towards living and future aims as well. (Francis East, et, al. 2015). Many socialists believe that there is no relationship in poverty and mental health so, it is important to realize that if all social spectrums are analyzed, it could be inferred that child marriages only occur at the places either with low education rate or at places with a low economic resource. It would not be wrong to say that both the spectrum are interlinked, lack of education is one of the symptoms of lack of economic resources and lack of economic resources paved the way for poverty where a continuous shift of transfusion of responsibilities is observed. Another stance that highlights the relationship between poverty and women mental health can be inferred from the fact that the medical agenda of 2030 has addressed the issue of mental illness as SDG3. It refers to the prevention and treatment of non-communicable disease that include neurological disorders, behavioral hampering and certain developmental diseases.

Conclusion

The impact of poverty on women mental illness is more like a heated debate because it invites discussion from all the other paradigms of socials sciences taking into account that all aspects of social affairs, employment, marriage, education, and customs are dependent on economic resources. (Francis East, et, al. 2015). It would not be wrong to say that all the collections from medical, social and political paradigms assert there is a direct relationship between poverty and mental health of women. A generalized view is enough to address the argument, highlighting that there is a comparatively less ratio of mental health in women who belong to a strong economic background in contrast to minorities or other women who are broken families and themselves volunteering to earn a livelihood. In a nutshell, it can be emphasized that empowering economic condition can be a tool to empower the health timeline of a state or country because women make more than the half population and a threat to more than half population is equally devastating. The future aspect of healthcare infers that mental health disorders are the leading cause of social hampering because many of women prefer suicide over the continuous threat of devastating situations.

Dilemma of Plastic Waste

Plastic, in all forms, straws, bottles, packaging, bags, etc- are all chocking our planet We must find ways to reduce and eventually eliminate single-use plastic products.

-Governor Jerry Brown

The recent epoch of contemporary lifestyle is laden with a myriad of social, environmental, economic, and health issues plastic usage is the most prevalent among all. Regardless of all the associated pros with the material, the entire planet is acknowledging the disasters interlinked with plastic. In order to save the world from piles of plastic waste, it is imperative to observe preventive measures to reduce plastic waste. Plastic waste is detrimental for the environment the creation and disposal of plastic entice perils of pollution and is a considerable burden on the economy.

Managing plastic waste plays an integral role in the perceived protection of nature and the environment on all earthy, atmosphere, and ocean levels. Production and usage of plastic and reducing its waste comprised of several harmful activities that are disturbing the balance of Mother Nature at a steady pace. According to the studies, the exacerbated usage of plastic is affecting marine life to a great extent, and about 90 of ocean litter is comprised of plastic that cannot be recycled and end up in the sea through drains and other discarding channels. Consequently, the tsunami of plastic material in the ocean kills and hurts the water creatures, and regularly hundreds of little and large sea animals get killed because of trapping, gulping, suffocating, starving, or strangling by human-made plastic material (Her Planet Earth, 2019). Dolphins, whales, sharks, and turtles are the most prominent victims of such environmental miseries. According to a cautious estimation of Recycling Technologies (2019), by the year 2050, the oceans will be infused with a tonne of plastic for every tonne of fish. The famous actor of Aquaman, Jason Momoa is leading an environmental movement and contends that the marine and ocean life is experiencing an emergency state. Momoa further explicates that entire marine ecosystems are vanishing with the warming of the seas, and as the waste of our world empties into our waters, we face the devastating crisis of plastic pollution (Barr, 2019).

Reducing the beast of plastic waste is also significant for mitigating the hazardous impacts of global warming that could slowly deteriorate the world. In this context, the most effective way to reduce plastic waste is to stop producing it altogether because whenever plastics are disposed of through combustion, the greenhouse gas emission reaches its peak. Throughout such practices, a sizeable quantity of nitrogen, methane, and carbon dioxide and sulfur permeate in the air and partake in the adversaries of global warming and climatic changes (Engels, 2015). In such situations, it is preferable to employ recycling or up-cycling options to reduce plastic waste because recycling combustion requirements are equal to zero, and the waste could be transformed into something reusable without impacting the atmosphere. Moreover, the process of reducing plastic waste through recycling involves little or no emission of greenhouse gases (Chow Mui Su, 2017).

Along with environmental and atmospheric disasters, the very production and usage of plastic are a burden on the energy resources and economy of a country. According to the experts, plastic is a material that features perilous facades from its production to usage to disposal. Throughout the manufacturing process of plastic several earth resources, a considerable reservoir of energies is consumed. Take the instance of producing a regular plastic water bottle that involves a sum of energy and resources that are about two thousand times more than using plain tap water. On the other hand, after using the bottles and other plastic material, the notion of waste management emerges as a catastrophe and implies a great economic loss. Similarly, the suffusion of plastic to the surroundings and especially in the ocean is harming the mtier of traveling. The estimation of economic loss from reduced traveling and tourism opportunities affirms a total of 1.3 billion dollars, and the figure is derived only from the areas of Asia-Pacific shipping and fishing. Contrarily, the idea of reducing plastic waste through different waste management strategies and practices ensures job expansions in the waste management sector. Generally, most of the plastic products lost their economic and usage efficacy after initial utilization, and in due course, the economy bears the loss of more than 120 billion dollars annually.

Although plastic is widely used in everyday life and for a certain faction, it seems impossible to live a life without plastic. Shopping bags, packaging plastic, water bottles, and disposable utensils are inseparable entities and are deemed essential for households and other outside ventures. As a matter of fact, in the absence of shopping bags, people feel irked and pestered it is believed that using plastic shoppers and other disposable items increases convenience and handiness. Plastic products are alluded to as light-weighted and easy to carry and to be discarded. However, people need to comprehend that such expedience brings devastating impacts on the environment, economy, health, and atmosphere in the long run. Several plastic products such as plastic bags and straws are never disposed of in an adequate manner and keep revolving and harming the surroundings to an extensive extent. Furthermore, some plastic particles, even after recycling and combustion, turned into tiny particles and got mixed up in the sand and somehow diluted in the oceans, and as a result, the oceans around the world are forming a patch that is deteriorating the marine life rapidly. Therefore, regardless of all the practical usages of the plastic and its by-products, the material is utterly injurious for all social and economic aspects.

To put it briefly, plastic is a giant problematic dynamic of the contemporary age, and posing ultimate threats to the prosperity and thriving of a healthy and pollution-free planet. For this reason, the eradication of plastic waste considered a pragmatic approach to tackle all the associated dichotomies of the plastic. No doubt, the plastic products, including straws, utensils, bags, and bottles, are the most frequently used commodities in the rut of life and proffer a cheap and handy solution for organizing and keeping things without much hassle. Nevertheless, the effectiveness in usage pays in the long-term and causes extreme hazards to human and marine life. Oceans are encountering the utmost deleterious aftermaths of using plastic products, and marine creatures are paying the price of such absurd practices by giving up on your lives. On the other hand, the cost of creating and discarding the plastic involved is considerably high, and in due course, a handsome amount of countries economy gets wasted on the so-called cheapness and expedience of the plastic. Further, the ease of plastic usage is affecting the environment at an accelerated pace, and the persistent emission of greenhouse gases is damaging the ozone layer and making the world a less desirable place to live. In a nutshell, the interlinked pros of using plastic are inadequate and quite immaterial to its extreme cons. The short-term efficacy of plastic products is posing enduring dangers to the planet, and it is not a piece of cake to dwindle such disastrous effects without taking rigorous and fervor preventive initiatives.

Argumentative Essay Characterizing Faustus

Dr. Faustus is an Elizabethan play by Christopher Marlowe based on the character of a highly educated and rich man Faustus who has achieved all the worldly respect cum knowledge and now he wants to have supernatural powers. He pursues his objective by practicing the Black Magic, but eventually he is shackled by the damnation. The critics have different views about this play. Some critics call it a great Renaissance play that hammers the authority of clergy and monarchs, but the others call it a didactic play that attempts to portray the consequences if a person follows a wrong path in the persuasion of his/her objectives. I agree with the latter group of the critics because Faustus although undermines rather mocks at the Pope’s authority, but his pathetic destiny discourages the audience to follow his path.

Dr. Faustus is a morality play as we analyze its theme. Initially, Dr. Faustus seems as an enlightened character representative of Renaissance who rebels against the authority of the Pope and stresses upon learning every kind of knowledge even the Black Magic. He wishes to bring more prosperity to England by getting gold from Germany and pearls from India. This factor portrays him as a nationalist. Nationalism had recently started in Europe after the disintegration of the Holy Roman Empire Bevington, 1604-1616). Dr. Faustus appears as a patriot English in protestant England when he mocks at the German monarch and the Pope: a catholic. Faustus has a great respect among his fellow scholars that could be because of his high scholastic status. All such qualities make him a hero who has rebelled against status-quo, but the end of the play alters the audience mind. He has not achieved satisfaction even after 24 years of absolute power (Kastan, 132-142). He is still in dilemmas in uncontended. He looks confident and passionate in the start, but eventually he has turned pessimistic, helpless, and highly confused when the play ends. He wants to repent but he cannot do so because Mephistopheles distracts him. This desire of repentance is the most solid logic that Faustus has been portrayed as an example of damning folly not as a romantic hero.

Marlowe’s protagonist Faustus mocks at the catholic Pope not the Christianity. Thus, it cannot be assumed that he has rebelled against the religion. Moreover, we learn that although Faustus expresses his desire to prosper England and to help poor by assuming absolute power, but when he is assigned that power, he becomes a corrupt absconder who violates the human rights of others and breaches their privacy. He enjoys with women and spoils everyone wherever he goes. Had he offered his soul peacefully to Mephistopheles, we would have assumed him as a romantic hero. But, his cries at the end of the play suggest that he is an example of damning folly not a romantic hero.

Doctor Faustus –Romantic Rebel or Damning Folly

After reading Christopher Marlowe’s play, it is easy to judge if his main character i.e. Doctor Faustus is either a damning folly or a romantic rebel. There is a line in the book,

“His waxen wings did mount above his reach,

And, melting, heavens conspir’d his overthrow…” (Line 21-22)

Through this reference, the story of Icarus was told. He was a man who wanted to escape from the possession of Crete. He used the wings which his father made from wax and feather. However, when he used these to fly up as he got close to the sun, the wax melted and the feathers got burnt. This caused him to fall down. All of this happened because he failed to follow the instructions that his father gave him. In this story, the theme which is followed is the consequence of every decision which is influenced by personal ambitions which turn into over ambitions. The tale of Dr. Faustus can be easily related to the story of Icarus. It is because Faustus was also very over-ambitious. This turned into his suffering eternally. The timing of telling this story here by Marlowe pushes me to believe that just like the man who himself became the reason for his failed getaway and dug up his own grave Faustus possesses the same qualities making him a damning folly (Roohi).

On the other hand, these following lines from the play make me want to believe that Dr. Faustus was a romantic rebel;

“When Mephistophilis shall stand by me,

What God can hurt thee? Faustus, thou art safe…” (Line 24-25)

In these lines, the theme of rebelling against the bigger and stronger power is clearly evident. Faustus denies the existence of God here as he says that what power can hurt him. It was clear that in this line he meant that not even God can hurt him now. Therefore, it is safe to say that the rebellious Faustus is rebelling against God and his glory. He was doing all this within the influence of being romantic as he believed that he was greater in power. However later it becomes clear that all of this was only his false fantasies (Roohi).

Later on, these lines from Faustus make me think otherwise as to how it is proven that he was a damning folly;

“Faustus hath cut his arm, and with his proper blood

Assures his soul to be great Lucifer’s…” (Line 54-55)

“Ay, so I do. But, Mephistophilis,

My blood congeals, and I can write no more.” (Line 61-62)

How foolish does Faustus sound here? He is the man who is proud of himself because he believes that after cutting his arm and writing his name from his blood will help him sell his soul to the devil i.e. Lucifer. He believed that evil is more powerful than the existence of God. However, God still gave him a chance when his blood started to clot and he was unable to sign his name (Maskouki). The following lines from the play are proof;

“…Why shouldst thou not? Is not thy soul thine own?

Then write again…” (Line 68-69)

Faustus even at this moment ignored that God is trying to save him. Instead of being foolish, he heated his wound so that the blood starts to flow again. Once the blood started flowing again, he completed the task of writing his name from his blood. Thus, he thought he succeed to sign his soul to the evil Lucifer. This is one of the biggest examples which show that Doctor Faustus was a damning folly and nothing else. After having so many signs of being stopped and bowing down in front of goodness, he chose the evil Lucifer proving that he is a damning folly (Maskouki).

Argumentative Essay Using The Article

Social media has been playing an important role in deriving people’s mind. The clear evidence of its influence on political and social matters is American elections, when Trump used social media as a power and generated fake news to increase his vote bank. However, when concerned to discuss about social media, Facebook comes top of the list. Horgan (2017) is of the view that Facebook has now introduced new features to help the audience double check the reality of the news and helps you to spot false news (Horgan, 2017). Though Facebook’s founder has made a lot of changes and has introduced new features to spot the false news, but no social media platform can be helpful to spot the false news, especially when millions of users are posting different stuff in every second.

Horgan discussed the partnership of Facebook with Media Smarts, and well known journalistic ‘Five Ws.’ through which it aims to double check the news posted by the users to evaluate either the posted stuff is true or fake.
