Same-Sex Marriages

The Supreme Court of India abolished the scandalous article 377 of the national Criminal Code, punishing same-sex relationships. Such a decision was unanimously supported by all five jurors of the court, reports the Hindustan Times. Now as a president I have to face two issues; the first one is related to who are in favor and others who are against it.

Same-sex relationships in India were previously punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Marriage has hitherto been associated with genitalization and the consequent establishment of a family. The marriage of a man and a woman is the foundation of every human community. The advocates of the “Equal” Marriage Act believe that marriage has nothing to do with genital mutilation, but only as a symbol of affection between adults. As such, it should be available to all affiliated couples. Because this is not the case, the current law is considered to represent inequality.

The state recognizes marriage because it as an institution benefits society in a way that no other relationship between people benefits. Marriage is a way for society to guarantee the welfare of children as little as possible in a restrictive way.so I need to plan a proper program to educate people regarding new high court ruling. Since the same and different sex relationships are different at the core, they are not justified in the law as if they were the same. However, this inevitably leads to the fact that the importance of same-sex partnerships for social and human continuity is not the same and identical. Thus, the same-sex relationship is not comparable with the starting point and is comparable to that of the opposite sex.

Concludingly, the internal inconsistency of the Adoption Act should be corrected within the framework of the adoption law. This inconsistency should not be used as a defense to a change in the Marriage Act but should justify the reform of the adoption law. The worst thing about this is a probably the fact that in the future, the decision-makers of this most fundamental fact of human reality - that men are men and women are lost - will also be able to influence school education and mess the children's minds with this constructivist "flat country" ideology.

Stress at Work Place

Introduction

Stress is a very common problem these days which may create serious issues at the workplace. It is necessary that the factors causing stress at the workplace are identified properly. Stress is caused due to a demanding and changing environment, some stress is referred to as positive and challenging, while both physical and mental changes may occur when individuals cannot cope with stress. The objective of this essay is to point out the effects of stress over the working conditions at the workplace.

Discussion

Stress in the workplace is growing, where employees commonly face conditions of overwork, job insecurity, low autonomy and less job satisfaction. It creates a harmful effect on the wellbeing and health of employees, negative effect on profits and productivity. A change in the work environment may cause stress which can continue for a longer period of time whereas onetime events may include marriage, childbirth, change of job (Khamisa et al. 652). Some people are stressed easily as compared to others. At times, some people remain calm and composed while others become more anxious. The common effect of stress on the body include rise in heart rate and high blood pressure, weak immune system, etc. These health issues may be caused due to workload, inadequate time to complete a task, lack of preparation or training, autonomy, pace/variety of work, lack of appreciation (Bickford 3). This is a serious call for an employer to take actions in order to eliminate stress on the workplace. It is the responsibility of an employer to take serious actions to remove stressors from organizations in order to run an organization in a smooth way.

Conclusion

Various strategies can be used to reduce or manage stress at workplace. The stress may create a positive or negative impact; an employee may be more productive while managing stress e.g more work can be handled in less time with better quality. Whereas stress may also create some negative impacts on health. It is extremely important for the employers to focus on the issues related to stress in the workplace.

Torture

Torture is a form of inflicting pain upon anyone. Torture has many forms, it can be in the form of physical torture, mental torture, emotional torture, and even sexual torture. The intensity of torture also varies in various cases. Sometimes it is mild in nature, which does not inflict much pain, sometimes it is extremely painful. Hence whatever the form of torture is adopted, pain is an integral factor. However, inflicting torture or practicing any form of torture upon anyone is not justified at all. Many experts argue that although torture only inflicts pain upon its victim, it is justified to carry on torture, in some specific cases. These specific cases have been defined as those instances in which a number of human lives are at stake and practicing torture upon a single or two of the humans can save many lives. Example of this can be taken in the form if a criminal who has planted a bomb somewhere and plans to cause mass destruction. Experts consider torture on such an individual totally justified, as hitting a single man would save the lives of many others. This logic does not fulfill the purpose of humanity and advocates inflicting pain upon others (Miller). In a world, where we, the humans, raise our voices against animal violence and try to protect the rights of animals, why not the rights of humans should be protected? It is not good at all to let someone go through pain in the hope that he or she will blurt out the truth under pressure. Moreover, it has been proven that the statement given out in such a condition is usually not reliable, which is why, practicing torture on anyone to get out the facts, is not useful and not a recommended method to solve the issues like terrorism and crime.

Conclusion: The holistic picture

Student loan debt may have some benefits for the student community in the long-run but evidence supports the claim that carrying a student debt profoundly impacts many aspects of an individual’s life.

Reflection questions

What was the most challenging aspect of the process for you?

The most challenging aspect of the process for me was to find a credible and authentic counter-argument for my working thesis statement. The biggest reason behind this was that I had conducted an extensive research on my own position about the research question. Elaborate readings on accounts of individual lives getting disturbed due to student loans and personal stories really created a bias in my mind and it felt difficult to wrap my head around the opposite stance.

The working thesis statement is a proposed answer to your research question. Analyze the effectiveness of your working thesis statement.

My working thesis statement is a depiction of my well-researched position on the argument. It can also be described as a holistic and comprehensive image of the adversities an individual goes through in his or her adult life while carrying the student loan debt. I tried to incorporate all the necessary elements in my working thesis statement and also gave a hint that students might also have to worry about various things in their future life. If I only talked about the financial aspect, my essay may be unable to leave a lasting impression on the reader.

Review your detailed outline and summarize the argument that you have presented.

After I introduce the readers with my working thesis statement, I start with a catchy and interesting introduction. I then move to instigating specific concerns or adverse effects associated with student loan debt. I also include some problems regarding the personality, self-esteem, and job prospects of an individual who has to carry student loan debts in his practical life. As argumentative papers should always go for an element for controversy, because someone can always disprove or counter-argue with whatever one might have said, I have also added the opposing stance on this prompt briefly. The counter-argument also delineates a few pros of student loan debt as opposed to the disadvantages I tend to present in my essay. After explaining them, I will also try to subdue these arguments in my detailed essay. This way, I will effectively support my main argument that student loan debts have an adverse effect on the future life choices of students.

You will use the same topic on three of the remaining Touchstones in this course. What kind of feedback would be helpful for you? What are specific questions you might have as you go deeper into the research process?

I would really life if I get an honest feedback on the statistical evidence I use to strengthen my argument. In due process, I will also appreciate if some honest account of an individual supporting the counter-argument can assist me in seeing the opposite picture as well. The other thing that I would really like to work on would be structuring of the paper. I have tried to abide by the APA formatting guidelines but the paragraphs in an argumentative paper require special attention.

Duality of choice-space

Life is never a puzzle as many perceive it to be, it is only a two way-traffic road that all of us are always travelling on either of the lanes. It is either people are going to a particular point or not, moreover, life is nothing more than a typical reflection of a coin that has to sides. It is either someone is viewing one side or the other and all of them cannot be viewed at the same time, however, at that moment of looking at the phase of a coin, there are different things that can harvest ones attention and he/she can decide to look choose whether to look at the coin or the other aspect seeking attention. In this case, one may try to find a better outcome when looking at something else either in decision or action with an aim of getting a better ending and outcomes. In ‘Hills like White elephants’ by Ernest Hemingway has the idea of two roads presented in an indirect manner, with characters having conflicting interests on whether to assert on abortion or not.

Considerably, the book ‘Hills Like white elephants has symbolism used majorly as the key tool to portray information, although the word abortion is never mentioned clearly, the books is all about abortion as the American continuously talks about an operation which is strongly inferred to as an abortion. The two protagonists who have strained relationship, the girlfriend repeatedly tries to avoid talking about and, or hearing about it by telling the American to stop mentioning to her about the same. The general state of the relationship presents itself explicitly as tense as the girl never explains clearly what she wants but in her pervasive talks shed light on the topic of the book.

The girl never allows the reader to get clearly what predicaments pervade their relationship instead she goes seeking new ways of getting rid of the giant that she seems to fear in the whole scenario of solving the problems that affect their relationship instead, she tells the man about trying out new drinks and all what they do is to get two beers ordered at their arrival at the bar (Wyche 1) This suggests that they use drinking as a means of keeping off the crucial topics of discussion about their relationship.

The title of the books is derived from the story itself where the girl depicts the hills near the train station as to be white elephants. The words white elephant is typically an idiomatic expression which means a burden whose disposal is problematic. This idiom comes now to stand in to explain how the unborn child is perceived by the Americans. The subtext also has a simile aspect of it and very valid to the situation at hand. The girl explains the white hills as something that she could carry but she is ignored by the American. The white hills and the bare ground are two distinct features and as she looks at the landscape, she perceives it as looking into her future as the white hills are more of fertility and the bare ground with the railway station as the barrens. (Renner 1)These two sides are pathways that the girl ought to take one but the conflicting interests prevent her.

This story is very fascinating as the author presents his main idea in a more complex way that the reader ought to pay attention to get the meaning of the idea. The subject is not confronted head-on by the author instead he presents the idea Through motifs, subtexts and symbolism, Hemingway presents with dialogue as being predominant and which has little embellishment. The reader can only appreciate the work through contemplative and careful reading and the striking impact is achieved in this manner (Link 67)

Tragedy That Come With Love

Tragedy That Comes with Love

Tragedy treats a drama in serious and majestic style and sorrowful events encountered by the hero. Othello is a tragedy by William Shakespeare and it was written in 1603. There are five main characters in the play. Othello is a tragic character who suffers because of his hamartia. He loved his wife but he was jealous of every man who tries to talk to his wife and a simple talk between Desdemona his wife and Cassio causes the death of Desdemona and Othello. He was unfamiliar with the fact that a plan has already been made by Iago for him to meet his downfall. Every main character of Shakespeare’s plays has tragic flaws and those tragic flaws are responsible for their downfall. The need for love and desire in the play cause every character to choose the path which leads them towards a devastating end. Apart from tragic flaws, the character’s cynicism plays a huge role in creating a tragic story. The tragedy also calls for a mixture of personal choice and fate. To create a tragedy in the play, the hero must have personal choice and agency.

Shakespeare’s plays are known for their universal appeal. Every play contains themes and characters that evoke universal appeal among the audiences. Jealousy and manipulation are being the main theme of the play. Manipulation is part of every play of Shakespeare. It can be in the form of prophecy or the form of a man like Iago. He twisted information and created a false sense of reality that convinced Othello to believe that Desdemona is cheating on him. His manipulation led Othello to be prejudice about his wife. Every character has jealousy for certain reasons and each of them deals with their jealousy differently. Emilia in act 3, scene 4 talks about jealousy, “But jealous souls will not be answered so. They are not ever jealous for the cause, But jealous for they’re jealous” ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"zf8gmoTX","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Shakespeare)","plainCitation":"(Shakespeare)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"6oMPv2B0/I3REFN7D","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/WcSf8WB9/items/3BHV897J"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/WcSf8WB9/items/3BHV897J"],"itemData":{"id":33,"type":"book","title":"Othello: The Moor of Venice","publisher":"Ginn & Company","number-of-pages":"254","source":"Google Books","note":"Google-Books-ID: Ki9XAAAAYAAJ","title-short":"Othello","language":"en","author":[{"family":"Shakespeare","given":"William"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["1890"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Shakespeare). She indirectly comments on Othello that, those who are by nature jealous do not need a reason for their ill feelings of distrust. But Othello, on the other hand, believes that he is not an easy man to get jealous, “Of one not easily jealous, but being wrought, Perplexed in the extreme” The way he acted throughout the play after being manipulated by Lago shows how much jealous he is for his wife.

Shakespeare’s tragedies always create catharsis in the mind of audiences. Although Othello is in a fault of doubting his wife, still readers have great sympathy for him by the end of the play. Strong feelings and emotions are aroused in the minds of audiences because of the tragic death of Desdemona and the suffering of Othello. Burke explains Othello's stake in Desdemona as "ownership in the most profound sense of ownership, the property of human affections, as fetishistic ally localized in the object of possession, while the possessor is himself possessed by his very engrossment” ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"0Eq9Z76y","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Snyder)","plainCitation":"(Snyder)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":1142,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/DY5WC4U5"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/DY5WC4U5"],"itemData":{"id":1142,"type":"book","title":"Othello: critical essays","publisher":"Routledge","ISBN":"1-317-52561-2","author":[{"family":"Snyder","given":"Susan"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2015"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Snyder, 129). People feel pity for Othello, even though he did wrong but the fact is that his character is universally appealing. Catharsis along with Hamartia is always been part of Shakespeare's tragedies. Othello’s unrealistic love, jealousy and trusting others easily create hamartia in the play ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"nLNQON7B","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Mincoff)","plainCitation":"(Mincoff)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":1143,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/6LVHM4UW"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/6LVHM4UW"],"itemData":{"id":1143,"type":"article-journal","title":"Shakespeare and Hamartia","container-title":"English Studies","page":"130-136","volume":"45","issue":"2","author":[{"family":"Mincoff","given":"Marco"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["1964"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Mincoff, 130). In Shakespeare’s plays, the hero is responsible for their downfall. They easily get manipulated and then they suffer in the end. Othello’s hamartia lies within the inner and external conflict. His blind trust in Lago and the element of jealousy in his nature caused his downfall. In act 4 scene 1 Lago manipulated Othello to strangle her wife on the bed instead of giving her poison. Othello appreciates him for his suggestion by saying, “Good, good. The justice of it pleases. Very good” ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"FU79PXBf","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Shakespeare)","plainCitation":"(Shakespeare)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"6oMPv2B0/I3REFN7D","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/WcSf8WB9/items/3BHV897J"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/WcSf8WB9/items/3BHV897J"],"itemData":{"id":33,"type":"book","title":"Othello: The Moor of Venice","publisher":"Ginn & Company","number-of-pages":"254","source":"Google Books","note":"Google-Books-ID: Ki9XAAAAYAAJ","title-short":"Othello","language":"en","author":[{"family":"Shakespeare","given":"William"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["1890"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Shakespeare, 152). It shows that Othello's mind has been completely warped and he is not ready to see the consequences he will face in the end.

Shakespeare’s plays are so gripping and suspenseful because of the dramatic device he uses in almost every play. His use of literary devices creates vivid, rich verses that have yet to be paralleled in writing since. The uniqueness of Shakespeare’s play lies in his writing style and the use of literary devices. It is important to use such devices in the right way to help create catharsis among the readers. He makes use of irony to create dramatic elements in the play. Othello believes that it is not easy to make him jealous which is very ironic because he easily gets jealous. In act 3 scene 3 he says that “I’ll see before I doubt; when I doubt, prove; And on the proof, there is no more but this – Away at once with love or jealousy ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"36cSUl17","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Shakespeare)","plainCitation":"(Shakespeare)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"6oMPv2B0/I3REFN7D","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/WcSf8WB9/items/3BHV897J"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/WcSf8WB9/items/3BHV897J"],"itemData":{"id":33,"type":"book","title":"Othello: The Moor of Venice","publisher":"Ginn & Company","number-of-pages":"254","source":"Google Books","note":"Google-Books-ID: Ki9XAAAAYAAJ","title-short":"Othello","language":"en","author":[{"family":"Shakespeare","given":"William"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["1890"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Shakespeare, 152).” This is another ironic statement because as Othello later finds out, it is not easy to choose between love and jealousy. The tone of the play is cynical since that what Iago is and the story revolves around his revenge plot. Apart from that Iago’s narratives are the most remarkable ones created by Shakespeare as they productively develop the plot and show Iago to be the character who can spin narrative to achieve his purposes: manipulation and deceit.

Othello no doubt is one of the greatest tragedies ever written. Othello ends on a frightful note where the tragic hero Othello murders his beloved wife Desdemona after being manipulated by Iago and driven by his jealous rage. Iago kills his own wife Emilia in order to defend his innocence but he is taken prisoner for his misdoings. As Romantic poet and critic Samuel Taylor Coleridge's comments on the play, “Othello depicts fundamental truths about human nature… Favoring a view of Othello "not as a negro, but a high and chivalrous Moorish chief." However, a farewell speech of Othello is primarily persuading Othello that everything is over for him.

Transgender Rights

Introduction

Transgender people are attributed with a disparity in the sense of their gender and the sex assigned to them by birth. They do not find themselves fit psychologically, socially, and sexually with the gender they have been born with. Therefore, they sometimes feel an urge to transform their gender through medical treatment according to what they feel about their sexual orientation. A number of issues are related to transgender people, which need to be addressed to position them as satisfied inhabitants in the society. The country’s legislation has practiced discrimination partly in providing enough rights to the transgender community. People’s views about this group of humans are still much stereotypical. Despite implementing workplace ethical standards in the organizations, transgender people have failed to receive equal status and opportunities. Discrimination and antipathy towards transgender persons have limited considerably the scope of their economic pursuits. The conservative church does not acknowledge transgender persons to be eligible to practice the religion to full extent or become a representative of a religious school of thought. Transgender rights have become an issue of debate in recent decades, yet no considerable progress could have been made in this regard. Anti-transgender group of people oppose the idea of reassigning sexual dimension through surgery (from male to female, or from female to male), as well as equal recognition of the rights of transgender people. The recognition of transgender rights could have not been achieved comprehensively to date, causing a continuous violation of human values, unavailability of equal opportunities, insurmountable impedance to reaching self-actualization, and a substantial damage to self-esteem, health, and integrity.

Discussion

Transgender people make a substantial portion of the country’s population. According to a census, they constitute approximately 0.3 percent of the total population of the US. That is, more than seven hundred thousand people can be categorized as transgender (Gates). This number suggests that their problems cannot be ignored at political, economic, or social fronts. Transgender persons should get everything that is necessary to help them secure their identity, respect, and wellbeing; otherwise, a huge portion of people’s strength would remain unsatisfied, leading to a social disturbance.

Theories of equal human rights suggest that all human beings must be considered equal based on the fact that all belong to the same species. A significant theory, egalitarianism, defends equality of all humans by recognizing their very nature of creation. “Egalitarian doctrines tend to rest on a background idea that all human persons are equal in fundamental worth or moral status (Arneson).”Such theories of human equality argue that everyone should have equal respect for belonging to the human race, get equal opportunities to thrive in the society, and receive equal recognition for the services rendered to the community as do the other cisgender individuals do. Moreover, former Vice President Joe Biden exclaimed once that the issue of transgender equality is an issue of civil rights of the present time.

The country’s legislation has not provided any non-discrimination protection to the transgender people. The federal government has taken a few steps to benefit the transgender people through non-discrimination protection, but these initiatives have created no impact on improving the wellbeing of these people. The gender identity has not been included yet in the country’s non-discrimination law so that the rights of people could be protected based on it. According to the reports generated for estimating the equality index, only a few states prohibit discriminating acts against transgender persons. These prohibitions have been applied with respect to employment, housing, public accommodation, and education. The legislation is even restraining transgender people to access public facilities where gender identity is required to prove. It is also allowing exemptions to be created in the religious context, ultimately giving rise to increased discrimination towards transgender community.

Transgender people live at the margins of a society, being most vulnerable to health hazards. These individuals are forced to involve in sexual activities that can prove fatally harmful to them. HIV risks are higher in these individuals than others. The social discrimination carried out towards this community does not allow them to pursue healthy sexual relationships. The fact is that even the healthcare providers do not understand the needs of transgender people. This lack of information results in alarming consequences for these poor individuals’ health. The governments and human service organizations must invest their resources for finding solution to their issues, especially their health issue. The Western psychiatrists have declared transgender persons to be mentally disordered. This is a much embarrassing situation where such responsible professionals have degraded the whole community of transgender people. This declaration has closed many doors of progress and acceptance for transgender individuals in the society. It intensifies the stigma and increases the difficulties associated with their identity.

Transgender persons are more prone to violence than cisgender persons. They have been reported to be a victim of physical or sexual violence as soon as they reveal their gender identity. This violence can be attributed to the stereotypical image people have sketched about transgender people in their minds due to the influence of propaganda done against them. “A national US study indicated that 35% of individuals who expressed their gender identity or gender non-conformity at any time between kindergarten and grade 12 (around ages 5 to 18 years) fell victim to physical violence, and 12% become victims of sexual violence (Winter et al.).” The effects of these violent assaults cause many psychological disorders among the victims. They cannot survive as the normal contributors to the community. Their ambition, potential, and commitment are lost. In a study conducted in the US regarding the transgender people, it was reported that forty-one percent of these people have attempted suicide out of depression or other psychological disorders.

People’s views about transgender persons vary according to their values, beliefs, and perceptions. Studies reveal that the attitudes and opinions of people about transgender persons are strikingly different in different contexts and can be altered as well through educating, training, and brainwashing. The government can launch programs for modifying people’s views in this regard. The impact of TV programs have been estimated by researchers in moderating public’s opinion about this minority group. Respondents who have had greater exposure to transgender people’s media portrayals have a more positive view about them. Currently, the public is divided in their opinion about them. They do not like the transgender persons to share their bathrooms, and they mostly do not even like to vote for them in elections. Moreover, it has been observed that people with little religious backgrounds do not demonstrate more aversion towards them.

Transgender people face social intolerance, prejudice, and discrimination from the early age. They are not given proper respect; their self-esteem is torn apart by their peers. They have to face intolerance even by their families. Their sense of integrity is ruined by their class-mates, school teachers, siblings, and so on. They have to leave their education incomplete. They could not find a place to thrive and express their potential so that they can get due reward of their efforts. Transgender persons are hardly seen to occupy prominent social status in any of the country’s states. A few examples do not matter in this regard where the whole community of these people are at stake of survival. People’s perceptions, values, and behaviors towards transgender persons are responsible in shaping their fate.

Workplace discrimination is a serious dilemma of organizations that claim to comply with the ethical standards of modern time. Research shows that transgender people confront maltreatment, discrimination, and harassment during the recruitment processes and at the workplaces. Transgender people are avoided in recruitment process of most of the organizations. They are usually forced to leave their jobs due to their gender identity, claiming that they do not adjust in the structure and operations of the organization. Transgender people are harassed in many more ways at the workplaces. They have to face verbal harassment as well targeting their gender identity, which makes their morale much lower. They have been reported to be attacked physically because of their degraded perception. People can never forget about their gender identity. Many times, transgender people are compelled to present their gender in the wrong way so that they can secure their jobs. They face denials for their promotions at their positions of work. A survey of transgender employees revealed that sixteen percent of them have to leave their jobs once in a life at the minimum due to their gender identity issue. Thirty percent reported that they had an experience of being fired, getting denial of promotion, and bearing a mistreatment emotionally or physically during their careers. More than fifteen percent of the respondents indicated that they have been physically attacked or sexually assaulted by their peers (James et al.).

Discrimination at workplaces lead to financial problems by transgender people, which ultimately lead to poverty. People who are not considered as socially or potentially equal to contribute to the community at their best can never be able to find an established status in the society. Lack of economic resources will make the life of transgender people miserable, as they have no social status to protect them. Unemployment is the major problem faced by these people. Due to lack of sufficient financial resources, transgender people are forced to live a life below the poverty line. They cannot avail comfortable housing. They are supposed to live in backward housing schemes with little facilities of life. They cannot get proper medical treatment due to lack of funds. They live at the edge of survival, such that they can lose their lives with a slight mishap. Their health is usually at stake due to unsafe and deviant sexual activities for which transgender people are forced by the members of the society. The lack of funds only adds to their misery. These people have no support of law, society, or the professionals of any industry. They survive in life out of sheer luck.

A counter-argument for the transgender people has been presented by the Catholic Church. The Catholic school of thought does not accept these people to represent them in any way nor do they recognize them as being eligible for observing the religion to the fullest extent. The Catholic representatives argued that people have been created and recognized only as ‘men and women’, and there is no further distinction made in this respect to make someone eligible for religious work. Therefore, they reject the idea of transgender identity. They claim it to be only a misconception that has been originated from the betrayed ideology of freedom and pursuit of desires. On the contrary, the transgender persons argue that people are born with certain gender identity; however, it is the body hormones that control traits and inclinations of a person. The development of hormones inside the body is out of a person’s control. Consequently, a person is bound to react as per the hormones drive the thoughts and desires. Further, the mental chemistry is another factor that determines a person’s sexual orientation. This chemistry is affected by genetic as well as environmental factors, and compels a person to behave a certain way sexually. Moreover, the personal experiences of a person disclose the reality of sexual inclination of a person. Most of the times, transgender people know about their sexual orientation after having some relevant experience. In short, all three justifications of transgender identity

The religious schools of thought vary in their view about transgender people. The Protestant school have accepted transgender in many aspects. They have allowed the transgender persons to carry on work as priests. The Unitarian Universalist Association has abolished the terms like ‘men and women’ and, instead, they assert the use of ‘people’ word for addressing all human beings, as it is more inclusive of all the gender identities.

Conclusion

Transgender rights have been little recognized by the members of any community existing today. The government’s initiatives are not sufficient in resolving the issue of transgender people. Legislation still does not recognize transgender people as do they recognize the rights of cisgender people. People are always showing discriminating behavior towards transgender persons, in schools, homes, and workplaces. The religious thoughts of different schools vary with respect to their core values and beliefs towards the transgender people. The Catholic Church raises a counterargument about the transgender people, saying that there is no official gender identity recognized for religious purposes by the church other than men and women. The transgender people respond to their saying by arguing based on hormonal effects, brain chemistry, and genetic traits affecting psychology, body demands, and sexual orientation of a person.

Introduction:

Title: Poster for Europe, Air France/"The sky, the most beautiful place on earth".

Product/service: Airline.

Background:

Air France, the main French airline, was founded in 1933. It specializes in the transportation of passengers, goods and aircraft maintenance and upkeep. The airline is part of the Air France-KLM group, which is the fourth largest airline in the world. Air France serves 190 destinations in Africa, North America, South America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Oceania. At Air France, advertising has always been important. Very early, the company understood the interest of asking painters or graphic artists to project their vision of Air France in overprint to the reality of the image of the aircraft, a "modern" means of transporting passenger’s men. We can follow this societal vision with the famous posters of the brand "Air France", one of the major airlines. Let's mention, among the creators, Matthew, the best known, then a real star of the media. Mathieu's posters met with a great success that can hardly be imagined now, so much has it been copied and it’s banal, overused style. In addition to their graphic success, its posters show the dynamism of a society open to the future.

Summary:

Air France renews its ads and embarks on a new advertising campaign. It must be said that the skies are rather dark at this time for our national airline, so it needs to give people the desire to travel (by flying it would be better for them), and to do so, what better than to offer them dreams? This new campaign, always in the same vein as the previous ones, upscale and avant-garde and designed by BETC Euro RSCG, is an opportunity to take a look at the evolution of the company's communication throughout of its existence. This is revealing of many things: position on the market, development policy.

First step, Air France began to reduce the space devoted to its aircraft on its ads. Previously, posters always praised the benefits of the company aircraft both in terms of space (seat spacing) and in terms of welcome with hostesses smiling all the more sublime than each other. They also always put forward their devices, since at the time allowing more to fly was a fantastic technological feat. Little by little the planes became more discreet and smaller, as if to take the plane had become rather banal and not very interesting in itself. While its competitors have remained somewhat stuck in the previous model, Air France has managed to evolve its communication intelligently by positioning itself as a leader. There new posters are without any plane.

The size of the plane set the goal of the ad

"The sky, the most beautiful place on earth". The company has continued to sell dreams, but the nature of the dream has shifted from the plane to the destination. The plane is reduced to a simple means, vector of access to the dream: the goal is now the journey and the fantasies that this concept carries in him. Moreover, you will notice that the presence of the planes is more and more discreet as the various campaigns, to the point that the plane does not disappear from the board and is replaced only part of a symbolic seat number at the time of the last campaign, and by a stroke in the sky in the current one. This is the idea of a quality service, high end that seems to be behind this communication. The idea that Air France no longer "sells" air transport, but the comfort of air transport, is confirmed by this latest campaign.

Indeed, if you look carefully at these new posters you will see that it has neither plane nor seat number, but that it is the services on board that are put forward by a touch : on a poster, we will put a pink panther forward, to symbolize the sweetness and innocence characteristic of children. Parents will be made to understand that their children will be well received on the plane, and that they will feel safe. Air France is gradually moving into a high-end transport service provider, gradually erasing the aerial aspect of its business.

Conclusion:

Air France is playing the card of daring and renewal through its new advertising universe. The visuals mix roots and modernity, while echoing the past of renowned poster designer of the Company. The pleasure, the freshness and the dynamism emerge from winks to the Moulin Rouge, to the French Revolution, to the Sun King, to the great chefs or to haute couture.

The eminently French character of the Company and the notion of the pleasure of traveling with Air France are conveyed in a joyful, lively and inspiring message that is in keeping with hedonism and the French way of life. The tone is deliberately offbeat and light, to create connivance and closeness with the audience. Air France also adopts a new signature "Air France, France is in the air". This new open and international signature, like the company, also claims the positive values associated with France.

Tribute To Eugene

Eugene— subject of an exceptional death!

Human being, undoubtedly, is a mortal entity. Mortal in a sense that he passes through the crests and troughs of life and a point arrives when there is no more crest—the moment of death. When we come to this world, we have nothing but a “blank slate (empty mind)” tabula rasa—the intriguing notion propounded by English Philosopher John Locke. This blank slate is all that we have—we have no “memories” and “experiences” in hand—we are the “purely” instinctual creatures at that moment. With the passing time, we start developing proximal relationships with parents, siblings, relatives, peers, teachers, colleagues and other individuals with parallel or non-identical cultures, values and ethnicity. Self-perpetuating series of experiences and memories start imprinting our mind and a product of genes and environment sprouts to prominence—the cultivated human.

Now, providing this topic a slight relevance to the Darwin’s theory of individual differences, each human being is innately different from others. His thoughts, feelings, sensations, perceptions, decision-making, attitude towards life, future and other humans, problem solving skills, social behavior and personality follows holistically unique patterns. His way of interacting others is different. Being social animal, he is compelled to interact but the nature of interactions varies accordingly. He is instinctually programmed to extract satisfaction from his relationships—fulfilling his needs of love, belongingness and identification with an influential social group as reported by Abraham Maslow in his theory of Human needs. Anyhow, let’s end the theoretical stuff here because it is potent enough to initiate an interminable thread of discussion.

Eugene, a convivial and endeared person to his belongings was living in a small town with his wife and two daughters. He had nothing but a true heart embracing positivity and constructiveness. His aura was too positive—it was just because of his altruistic peculiarity. He was the super-colossal depiction of “money cannot buy happiness” because he had no money but happiness. Apparently trivial, mediocre and insignificant happenings were huge enough to make him happy because it was his “perceptual tendency” differing from the masses, the best possible discrepancy perhaps.

He was altruistic—he helped wretched and stricken without any intention of reward. He helped for the sake of helping. He helped because it gave him immense satisfaction and sense of being viable. He worked harder to earn bread and butter for his family. He had a small flower shop in the main market. This could be another potential reason of his charming and constructive personality. This was how his “blank slate” was being imprinted—the era of crest and liveliness.

Life is not the name of monotony, but of diversity, enriched with unpredictable ebbs and flows. The moment of “death” arrived eventually; death, not of his body, but his emotions, attitudes and socially desirable personality. He started developing a lingering sense of guilt, shame, inappropriateness and worthlessness without an apparent cause. His family, for whom he was equipped to spare his life; his friends and relatives, for whom he was readily procurable—was no longer there, not physically but emotionally. His genetic predispositions surpassed his environmental spirits. He was diagnosed with severe depression—a superfluous and dispensable lagniappe from his ancestors.

Depression—a mental illness—ruined his life. He was dead; his “life” was snatched. He no longer found his relationships worthwhile and desirable. He never talked them several days, holding himself secluded standoffishly. Eugene was no more alive, he was dead, his happiness was no more; he was unable to go work. He was no Eugene anymore. He was nothing but a grotesquely accommodated creature looking for mortality and cessation, finding nothing worthy in the people and society. His simmering sense of contempt towards life made him motivated death planner. Perished rotten flowers of his shop are describing what Eugene has become now!

Trophy Hunting

Introduction

Killing an animal and claiming its skin, head, or any other body part as a trophy with pride is called Trophy Hunting. Wealthy people have hobbies proportional to their bank balance. Trophy Hunting is an expansive hobby that rich folks enjoy. Big, unique, or rare animals are selected as the targets i.e. elephant, deer, puma, lion, rhino, or leopard etcetera. Hunting an animal is not a recent rather millennium's old human practice as Homo sapiens were known as hunter residents of the earth until they took interest in agriculture, but killing an animal for pride in the business of civilized man. Animal heads and skins were found in the palaces of aristocrats and royals during the age of feudalism and monarchies. That age also ended but this practice sustained as a hobby of wealthy adventurers. The popular view on this practice is not uniform rather there are at least two opposing arguments that dominate our new world; one does support this practice and the other one rejects it. Two research articles have interesting commentary on this topic: (i) Big Game Hunting: Should Big Game Hunting Be Legal? (ii) Protecting Animals by Reed Karaim. The former article is solely on the topic Trophy Hunting, and the latter one is a research on a general topic that discusses Trophy Hunting during argumentation. Both authors have given neutral analysis about the phenomenon without taking the side of any argument.

Body

Both the mentioned articles are a research study on the topic Trophy Hunting whereas the article by Karaim is comparatively more comprehensive research as it includes the details of laws that developed chronologically regarding human treatment with animals although it is general to all animals whether they are hunted or caged/petted unlike the other article that is specific to the topic Trophy Hunting. Karaim gives a historical analysis of how human interaction with animals was perceived earlier and how our approach to deal with animals developed with time. The article Big Game Hunting: Should Big Game Hunting Be Legal gives an introduction to this practice and background to how the debate of right/wrong started on this issue. The articles have many similarities and dissimilarities that are following.

Similarities

Reed Karaim gives attention to a New York City protest that broke out in September 2017 to initiate his argument. He uses the persuasion technique of Appeal to Authority to convince his readers that the topic he is talking about is of high scope among scholars. He mentions an Australian philosopher Peter Singer whom he credits with initiating the movement Animal Liberation. He quotes Kathy Guillermo the senior vice president for PETA who insists upon adopting as many animals as one can. Karaim enriches his research with facts and figures plus pictorial diagrams. He uses another technique of Appeal to Emotion giving details about the animals vanished at the hand of the human being. He explains the impact whether positive or negative on African countries where Trophy Hunting is allowed and mentions Abidjan authorities who took action against tusk smuggling. The smugglers presented the excuse that they hunted the animals with proper permits. He concludes the article by mentioning some American laws that protect all the animals.

The article Big Game Hunting: Should Big Game Hunting Be Legal? was updated on Fredrick Community College website on 23 May 2019. This article starts like Karaim's article using the persuasion technique of Appeal to Authority as two opposing arguments have been provided at the start. It uses, as Karaim uses, a protest to develop his thesis showing that the topic is of high importance and scope. This protest was a reaction to the murder of a famous lion Cecil in Africa at the hands of Walter Palmer, an American dentist (Bale, Rachael. N.P). This protest became the cause of the modern movement for the rights of hunting animals. Use of an introduction and background to the phenomenon is similar to Reed Karaim. Facts and figures are also provided in both articles.

Dissimilarities

A major and apparent difference in both articles is that one article discusses general human relationships with all animals historically and presently whereas the other is typically about our topic. Reed Karaim argues that Trophy Hunting is an offshoot of the movement started for the rights of all animals. On the contrary, Big Game Hunting: Should Big Game Hunting Be Legal? is completely about Trophy Hunting. The Aristotelian appealing technique of Logos has been implied in this article to develop the argument. By quoting the claims of two opposing schools of thought the author(s) indicates that the debate on Trophy Hunting is still active and no conclusion has been reached yet. This argument leads to the whole discussion. According to this article, there are two schools of thought on the subject; one supports Trophy Hunting while the other demands its ban. The supporters claim that this is a good sport as it helps the countries to earn revenue (Whitman, Karyl. 175-178). Moreover, the communities around the animals show tolerance towards these animals because they consider them as a source of income. They say that we should channelize this sport throughout the world and underdeveloped countries must be encouraged to use undeveloped lands for the growth of wild animals. They say that this is a way for the governments to reach the pockets of rich people. Apart from that, the beauty of this sport has a distinct attraction. They call it a rational approach to allow Trophy Hunting because it is a win-win situation for hunters as well as the countries where the sport exists. The opposite claim also has its logic. They consider it a very inhumane act and unsuitable rather immoral for a civilized person to kill animals for pleasure-seeking. They say that animals have feelings and even a sense of belongingness. When we kill an animal, we hurt not only the prey but its relatives also. Moreover, they argue that slavery is also rational as it is helpful for the business holders who can use the people for their business and the slaves also get food, security, and other basic needs. Thus, slavery should also be legalized as we demand Trophy Hunting. But we, they say, cannot allow it because we consider it an immoral act. The article concludes that this argumentation has exceptions on both sides that is why no resolution to this debate has occurred yet.

Conclusion

Animal Rights is a general article about the human relationship with animals of every kind. It discusses human interaction with animals and how the human being changed ways to deal with animals. Killing an animal for any purpose was not a crime rather an appreciable act some centuries ago, but the modern world has started condemning the act as immoral and unethical. The second article is uploaded on the Website of Fredrick Community College with the title Big Game Hunting: Should Big Game Hunting Be Legal? and it discusses Trophy Hunting isolate. Many techniques of persuasion like Appeal to Authority technique, Appeal to Reason Technique and many others have been implied to convince the reader about the gravity of the topic.

Trust

Introduction

Trust is almost everything that every person desires to have in his or her life. By definition, Trust is one of the central parts of all human relationships that include the level of people’s reliability, honesty, romantic partnerships, business operations, family life, and other life activities. Trust is both a logical and emotional act. Emotionally, this is where one shows or expose his/her vulnerabilities to others while believing that they would not take advantage of the openness one expose towards them. While logically, it is where people assess the gain and loss probabilities. In short, trust is can be found even greater and of a higher compliment than to be loved.

Body

It is a very special and great thing that one has been trusted by other(s). It is always a greater feeling when one listens that he/she has been trusted. But it is also important that you should not take benefit of the trust others have on you. While taking advantage of others' trust over you mostly leads to distrust and this is a reality we can always witness about trust. Trust is the thing that becomes very difficult to build once it gets broken. It means that people never trust for the second or next time once they trust you and get inverse or different results. Trust is the psychological asset that always requires people to be highly positive and fine towards everyone and everything. Trust can be seen considered as the glue in life and relationship (Lahijanian, & Kwiatkowska, 2016). This is considered so because it is the way enables one to have true bond and relationships in life in the shape of friends and mates, most of the time.

According to my perception about myself and the views of other people about me, I believe that I enough trusting a person by the people around me or the people who have concerns with me. Based on my view, the trust could be developed amidst one’s lifetime and survive the person's or individual’s devastation. Trust is the thing that can be made and shaped before and after one’s death. The resources have a spot with the trust itself when resources are put into the trust. In a very general way, trust is the room in the property of a person or individual that is held in a very trustee relationship between two or among several individuals (Lahijanian, & Kwiatkowska, 2016). In the trust, one can be found helpful and cooperative towards the one who has been found trusted by the person helping and cooperating. In trust, there are two sides or individuals involved. One is known as the trustee who is the person or individual who has or holds the title to the trust property while the other is the recipient who is the individual who gets the trust or upsides of the trust (Johnson, & Cullen, 2017).

In terms of comparison and types, there are mainly two types or sorts of trust, 1) Revocable and 2) Unalterable. The first type of trust which is revocable trust is the sort of trust that is made amidst the lifetime of the creator of the trust and which could be altered, changed and adjusted all around (Riker, 2017). While on the other side, Unalterable Trust is the trust which could not be dissolved by the individuals or creators who have developed the while the credit of it can be found absolute.

Conclusion

After an in-depth analysis of the term “Trust”, it has been found to conclude that trust is a highly important part of people's lives. This is so because people think that life without trust cannot be valued by oneself nor by society as it is valued being trusted. It is also crucial that one should not break trust nor take negative advantage of it if he/she wants to be trusted. In short, trust has different types but each of them is more important to people than to be loved.

Trying Children As Adults Cons

Name

Purpose

Topic: Treatment of Children as Adults

Introduction

When children are not being charged as adults, it is about making sure that they are being provided with the lenient sentences for the crimes that are quite smaller in scale. The idea is to reiterate the fact that how children should not be treated as adults at any point of time.

Most of the people are of the point of view that it is quite wrong to hold children and adolescents that have not reached the legal age to be judged in the same way as compared to adult standards. Children are not permitted same rights and privileges. Following are some of the dimensions of the research that would be taken into account when this decision is going to be made.

Recent Research

Providing adequate care and treatment

Risks faced by children in adult prisons.

Body

There is enough psychological research carried out to assert the fact that how the children and teenagers are supposed to act in the manner that at times does not reflect their true intention. They do not have the sense or an idea about the complexities of the crime and thus cannot be held in the same standard.

The risks that are faced by the children in the adult prison are quite on the higher side. They are at the increased risk of being sexually assaulted in the prison. Not only that, there is an increased likelihood that they are going to be mistreated when they are going to be in the prison and thus it renders them quite vulnerable if they are being treated in the same manner as the adults are in such cases.

The idea of the prison or making anyone go through any legal intervention is to bring about a reformation in the person, when they are imprisoned, that purpose is not being served. If the reformation is not being there and the likelihood is quite strong is that they are going to be mistreated in the prison, then it beats the whole purpose of why they must be made to go through the legal system. In an ideal world, what must be done is that there must be centres where effort has to be made to make sure that the people who have committed these crimes are made to go through a rehabilitation so that they are able to integrate back into the society in a much easier manner.

There have been cases in the past when if the appropriate treatment was being provided to the children, it would have gone a long way towards making sure that how the children who have committed some of the worst crimes can be integrated back into the society.

Conclusion

In the hindsight, it can be said that the treatment of children in the case where they have committed a small offense to be brought back into the society and they should be given chance to redeem themselves. The likelihood that they are going to be assaulted or some other form of mistreatment is going to be carried out with them means that the prison or any such treatment that does not play a part in their active development is the option that is supposed to be ruled out at the particular point of time. The other thing that is quite important in the given scenario is that how the legal system works in such cases. Studies have shown that charging kids as adults doesn’t stop them from committing more crimes when they get out. They are better off in a safe environment where they can have structure and they can learn. Simply throwing them behind bars typically doesn’t work, which undermines the main argument for trying them as adults.

Shakur achieved further critical and commercial success with his follow-up albums Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z... (1993) and the critically acclaimed Me Against the World (1995), which is considered to be his magnum opus. Later that year, after suffering legal troubles and a robbery and shooting, Shakur became heavily involved in the growing East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry. His double-disc album All Eyez on Me (1996) became certified Diamond. On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas; he died six days later and the gunman was never captured. The Notorious B.I.G., Shakur's friend turned rival, was at first considered a suspect, but was also murdered in another drive-by shooting several months later. Five more albums have been released since his death, all of which have been certified Platinum.\nOutside music, Shakur also gained considerable success as an actor, with his starring roles as Bishop in Juice (1992), Lucky in Poetic Justice (1993) where he starred alongside Janet Jackson, Ezekiel in Gridlock'd (1997), and Jake in Gang Related (1997), all garnering praise from critics.\nShakur is one of the best-selling music artists of all time having sold over 75 million records worldwide. In 2002, he was inducted into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame. In 2003, Harvard University co-sponsored an academic symposium entitled \"All Eyez on Me: Tupac Shakur and the Search for the Modern Folk Hero\". In 2010, he was inducted to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry. In 2017, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. Tupac’s Style and Techniques

The very first record by Shakur, 2Pacalypse Now, revealed Tupac's socially responsible side. Shakur further broaden the reputation of rap groups including Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemy, X-Clan, as well as Grandmaster Flash. From this official release, he emerged as the first West Coast's major socially aware rappers. Shakur persisted to rap on his next album to songs such as "The Streetz R Deathrow" and "Last Wordz" about the social problems confronting African-Americans. He also demonstrated his vulnerable side with the inspiring song "Keep Ya Head Up," whilst at the same time promoting his legendary viciousness with the title track, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. He even extended a greeting to the previous Digital Underground group while including them on a humorous track "I Get Around." In order to understand such vivid paradoxes, we must locate them in the historical contradictions of the period more broadly. Tupac was born in 1971, at the tail end of the civil rights movement. This represented the end of an era of flourishing political activism. In the time before, in the 1950s and ’60s—and through the nexus of churches, black-owned businesses and local grass roots associations—the civil rights movement had brought about a series of boycotts, strikes and mass mobilisations. All Eyez on Me from his previous works was indeed a change in tactics. While also featuring mindful music and concepts, Shakur's album became strongly influenced through club tracks and had a more "feel good" ambiance than his past albums. Shakur identified it as life's happiness.

Me against the world

“Me against the world” was the third album by Tupac which was released on March 35, 1995. Everything shocking regarding “Me Against the World” is not just the frequency or anger, but its power. The Tupac we had was just distinctly identity-possessed, filtering on "So Many Tears" via his feelings of hopelessness or being nostalgic on "Young Niggaz." Not once had Pac deeply delved in his own mind through his music ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"esVn5ZsQ","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Thompson)","plainCitation":"(Thompson)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":53,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/LGdpQbDd/items/RTQQARB2"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/LGdpQbDd/items/RTQQARB2"],"itemData":{"id":53,"type":"webpage","title":"Tupac Shakur’s Complicated Legacy, Explained","container-title":"Vulture","abstract":"Tupac’s life is dramatized in the film All Eyez on Me, but how detailed did it really get?","URL":"https://www.vulture.com/2017/06/tupac-shakur-all-eyez-on-me-full-history.html","language":"en-us","author":[{"family":"Thompson","given":"Paul"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2017",6,19]]},"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",11,11]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Thompson). Searching inward emerges with entirely different problems than talking externally to your neighbors and friends, but Pac had managed to preserve his power on "Keep Ya Head Up," the greatest tribute to his potential as an author. The record was the first rap album to win awards during most of the imprisonment of its writer. It was primarily due to "Dear Mama," Afeni's lovely homage. Even though it was terribly psychic, it still expanded on the concrete slabs given by "Brenda's Got a Child" or even "Soulja's Tale."

Through another verse — "And even as a crack fiend, mother / You've always been a Black Queen, dad" — Pac addressed the popular narrative throughout the media for those dedicated to keeping tabs on humanity as loathsome drains. “Me Against the World” was driven by his previous work because it was his antidote to a world that must have seemed as if it was plotting against him ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"7Mv89JZH","properties":{"formattedCitation":"({\\i{}8 Ways Tupac Shakur Changed the World \\uc0\\u8211{} Rolling Stone})","plainCitation":"(8 Ways Tupac Shakur Changed the World – Rolling Stone)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":57,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/LGdpQbDd/items/2K3SL98R"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/LGdpQbDd/items/2K3SL98R"],"itemData":{"id":57,"type":"webpage","title":"8 Ways Tupac Shakur Changed the World – Rolling Stone","URL":"https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/8-ways-tupac-shakur-changed-the-world-128421/","accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",11,11]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (8 Ways Tupac Shakur Changed the World – Rolling Stone).

Contribution

A maximum of 11 studio albums were published by Tupac: four throughout his profession, as well as the seven more ceremonially announced. Until now, over 75 million albums have already been sold around the world by Tupac.

Since September 2017, through record sales and content estimates, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) mentioned Tupac as 44th greatest-selling artists in the world.

2Pacalypse Now was the first album to be launched as a solo singer. Though it did not produce any hits, it managed to sell a decent 500,000 editions and defined Tupac as a social critic without negotiation. Tupac's second record was scrapped in February 1993, Strictly 4 My Niggaz. It started in a certain socially responsible sense as its final appearance. Tupac's older brother, Mopreme, made a significant contribution to the album. Mopreme became a part of Tupac's rap band Thug Life, that released an album Thug Life: Volume 1 in 1994. Tupac's third solo record Me against the World hit No. 1 in the Billboard 200 chart and was considered as his greatest work — Cheo H. Despite his new hip-hop band Outlawz premiering on the record, “All Eyez on Me” was another gang culture tolerated triumph, avoiding socially aware sentiments in preference of rapper-funk materialism and threat. Announced in June 1996 as a single, "Why Do You Want It" became more prominent because of its B track "Hit' Em Up," which broadcast Tupac's West Coast feud with East Coast Bad Boy competitors. Tupac's fifth album, Don Killuminati: The Seven Day Theory, was introduced in November 1996, just 8 weeks following his murder. On the charts it also hit No. 1.

Turkish culture

Turkey is a beautiful country that gets attention of many tourists because of its unusual geographical position and rich heritage. It is the connecting bridge between the two the continents; Europe and Asia. The majority of the population of Turkey is Turkish that makes 80% of the total population (Koc, Hancioglu and Cavlin, p.g 447-457). However, the other ethnic groups make the rest 20% of the population and those groups are the Kurds, Arabs, Greeks, and Circassians. It has a vast history that has contributed to enrich the culture of the country. Moreover, the national language of the country is "Turkish." The culture of Turkey has elements driven from other diverse and heterogeneous cultures from the region that were brought together by the rulers of the country. The traditional culture of the country transformed into a unique form by taking influences from the modernization and westernization since the 19th century (Kandiyoti & Saktanber, N.p.).

Firstly, the Turkish culture promotes a family system. It has a strong belief that the family members should live together and take care of each other, both physically and emotionally. Due to such cultural practices, there is a strong connection between the family members . However, family size varies throughout the country. Specific gender roles are assigned to the family members on the basis of their culture. The government implements gender equality. People who are living in rural areas give much importance to their culture and traditions while people living in metropolitan areas are much influenced by westernization.

Moreover, Turkish cuisine includes vegetables and meat. A loaf of sourdough bread is eaten with every meal. Some of the famous dishes of Turkish tradition includes Kebabs, Dolma and Borek. Kebab is the word used for roasted meat and Dolma are the dishes made from vegetables. The favorite food of most of the Turkish people is Eggplant (Kandiyoti & Saktanber, N.p.). However, the food preferences vary with the season and region. For instance, people living in coastal areas like fish as a food. However, Pork is considered Taboo in Turkey because the majority of the population is Muslim and it is forbidden in Islam.

There is nothing like the beautiful cultural and religious festivals of Turkey. The cultural and religious festivals include Izmir, Ramadan, Kadir Gecesi, camel wrestling, Kurban and Seker. Izmir is maintaining the oldest tradition of the festival event in Turkey. It is usually celebrated in September and consists of a series of social and musical events. In addition, Ramadan is the essential religious festival of Muslims that continues for a month. It is a fasting month, and Muslims do not take food for half a day. Likewise, Kadir Gecesi and Kurban are other religious festivals related to Muslims.

The traditional clothing is not worn commonly nowadays. However, in old times Turkish people would weave to make their clothing and dye with the dyes from natural plant ingredients. Each region is represented by its design of socks, scarves, and hats. The national costumes of Turkey are, Yasmak, Islak, Fes, Yelek, Cepken, Salvar, and Entari Humphreys and Brown, pp. 927-952). However, the developed cities represent the western lifestyle. Females wear maxi dresses, shorts, skirts, and miniskirts. Sandals, Flip-flop, and Flats are most preferred footwear among women. Moreover, some familiar concepts in Turkish Culture are based on kindness, trustworthiness, faithfulness, hospitality, nationalism, and Honor. All of these notions have become the basis for the ethical terms and etiquettes in Turkish culture.

In conclusion, Turkish Culture is enriched that presents a complete way of life for its people. Although, it has been influenced by western culture slightly but it's distinctive culture is still preserved in some areas of the country. Some Turkish people see connectedness in their culture even living away from their homeland.

Turning Point Essay

The story of Lamb to the Slaughter has a long and historical relationship with the English and biblical literature. This story is by Roald Dahl, which portrays different meanings about the topic "Lamb to the Slaughter." Marry is the wife of Patrick Maloney who, is a housewife, and she would always wait for her husband eagerly. This essay discusses the different aspects of the story of the Lamb to the Slaughter.

This story is about Mary Maloney, who used to wait for her husband excitedly, and when he entered the room, he takes the glass and takes a second glass of dink. For the second time, he made his drink stronger than before. She used to love him the most, and she did every task to please him, but her husband's silences always disappointed her. Two Kinds

The story is named "Two kinds" because it is based on the story of mother and daughter where the mother had some expectations from her daughter. When the daughter failed to fulfill the mother's expectation due to lack of attention, her mother categorized daughters into two kind one who is obedient and others who follow their own mind.

The main theme of the story is the difference and conflicts of culture and expectations between daughter and mother. Mother had faulty English, for instance, "Not the best. Because you not trying." and "Only ask you be your best for your sake. You think I want you to be genius? Hnnh! What for! Who ask you!” The addition of these faulty sentences was to highlight that mother was basically from China, left everything behind and came to America. Her Chinese-American daughter had different culture and beliefs according to the society she was living in.

In a scene, the daughter saw herself in the mirror and saw her face reflection. She was angry, sad, and disappointed at the same time as she was unable to answer the question that her mother asked. She felt she is not intelligent and ugly. After crying, she looked back at the mirror, and this time she was calm, certain , and absolute upon her decision that she would not try to do anything that she can't just to fulfill her mother expectation.

The two strong-willed characters in the story were pitted to each other because both had different expectations and point of view. Mother tried to impose her expectations and ideas on her daughter while the daughter tried to find herself in her own way.

The story "two kinds" is well defined as the difference in culture, age, and expectations. Mother and daughter were right and wrong at the same time. Mother wanted her daughter to be something, but she tried to impose it on her daughter. While daughter first tried to fulfill her mother expectations but later she adopted the same stubbornness as her mother had. Daughter achieved her independence by gaining the right not to be outstanding and also realized her mother's feeling and expectations later.

Comparison of Themes of Intergenerational Conflict in Two EssaysDate

No one lives a life that is either a bed of roses or the bed of thorns. Life is all about a unique and customized combination of happiness and sorrows. The pattern of these feelings vary and so does their magnitude for everyone. However, life is comparatively simpler and rather easier to some extent when people live with their own community. The community that has the likes of them and that shares similar origins, beliefs, and benefits. While the lives of those who are a misfit in any sense to the environment in which they live are not like those in the previous case. They obviously have to face some difficulty in adjusting to the environment and adapting to the norms of society. Sometimes the immigrants adapt themselves and the locals cannot accept them and other times the locals have an open and welcoming society but their culture is so alien for the immigrant that they find is difficult to adjust in that society and to live up to the cultural norms of it. The essays that are under discussion are also depicting the lives of the people that are a misfit to the land they live in, and it compares the struggle of them being accepted by the locals and the difficulties that they face while the process.

The essay In the American Society portrays the picture of a family that is originally Chinese but has moved to the US. Jen, unintentionally, displays the unwillingness American people have to take others in. The family struggles a lot to get mingled with the Americans. Mrs Chang joins a community club and makes Mr Chang agree for joining too. She buys him a costly suit for a party at the club, but the party turns out to be the moment of realization for the family that they are not one of the Americans. The whole family especially Mr Chang has to face sheer embracement. Firstly the people at the club clearly show that they did not like the idea of others coming to the party, despite all the efforts that they put in to mingle with them. The main event that was an eye-opening moment for the family was when Jeremy humiliated Mr Chang in front of the whole club. While drunk he shouted at him saying, "Who are you?" Though he apologized for his behavior latter however the insult that it caused to the Chang family could not be compensated. The Changs then realize that they cannot change their identity from Chinese to Americans. Another notable incident that happened at the party was that Mrs Lardner asks Callie to serve food, as she all of a sudden catches herself with a lack of waiters. This is the sort of cultural bias shown towards Changs.

The people around them will always remember they're true identity and will never consider them as one of them.

The other essay namely Leaves from the Mental Portfolio of a Eurasian, is the insight into the mind of a Eurasian child. This essay narrates a succession of apparently detached yet moving spirits, views, and sentiments as a reaction to the ruthless and casual dehumanization of the Chinese nation that much of America contained at the time. The author narrates in intense detail the agony and misperception she suffered under the ignorant veil of prejudice. She has a Chinese mother and American father so she is alien for both the cultures and that intensifies her problems. She draws upon the experiences in her life that have brought the difficulty of having both cultures, and each one refusing her since the share of her that is outlandish to them. Both the communities seem threatened by the heritage of her, because of the American’s prejudice against Chinese and that of Chinese against Americans. In childhood, she had the very first encounter with the fact that she is something different than the others when she heard two nurses whispering that her mom is Chinese. She also had to listen to the rash comments of the other kids about the fact that she is from China or has Chinese blood. She spent her life thinking about why people judge her by the heritage of her. Not only the Americans but the Chinese have the same prejudice against her because she is equally alien to them.

Both the essays are portraying the picture of the society that denies accepting the foreigner immigrants. Despite all the efforts of the immigrants and the seeming aliens to assimilate with them, the locals do not seem to be ready to accept them as one of them. The prejudice of them against the Chinese heritage of them remains constant.
