To ascertain whether all social changes are positive or not, one needs to have profound knowledge over the outcomes that entailed the social changes. For instance, consider advancements in the domain of technology. The change brought socially has been marked with both positive and negative connotation. Criminals operate freely there. Horrible crimes like kidnapping, drug deals, and extortion take place away from the eye of the law. So, to say that all social is positive might not be correct.

Taking into account the argument mentioned above. It seems that progress is regressive. Humanity must have thought, with the advancement made at multiple fronts, the overall look the society would present will be positive. But where does society stands today? Crime today is at all times high. More violent and even deadlier than in the past. No one is unaware of the detrimental effects industrialization has had on the population of earth. The average temperature of the earth stands at an all-time high. Untreated waste and sewage flowing into the rivers and oceans have polluted them to a dangerous level. Also giving rise to dangers to marine life. Social change becomes a challenge after a certain line is crossed. Humans are often seen struggling to contain that challenge. The advancement in weaponry envisaged a certain level of deterrence. But today’s society is awash with guns. That has jeopardized the right to life of masses. Additionally, the post-industrialization era has seen the emergence of several deadly diseases.

Hence, the social change is certainly, at times, oversimplified. More often, Achievements of humanity over time are hailed as crucial to it. But the consequences and the by-products of those achievements are often overlooked.
