The Use of impact of Opioids to household and economy of the United States
Project Objectives
The objective of the project is to investigate the level of usage and impact of Opioids in the United States.
It is also to establish the scientific truth about the abuse of Opioids since studies have indicated that majority of young and teenagers in the United States abused drugs.
The study is also intends to establish a systematic method, which can be used to address the menace of Opioids in the country.
Project background
In early 1990s, the pharmaceutical industry made a promise to the medical community that patients would not be addicted to the Opioids, which is a pain reliever. And therefore, the medical practitioners started to prescribe Opioids related pain reliever to patients. This resulted to the widespread of abuse of the highly abused drug. However, the Opioids overdose abused became serious in the early 2000s. Research indicates that in 2017, the Opioids related drugs have caused the death of over 47000 Americans and the number of casualties continues to increase annually CITATION McQ09 \p 54 \l 1033 (McQuay, 2009, p. 54).
Project description
The project intends to investigate the uses of Opioids. A study by McQuay (2009, p. 21), illustrates that majority of adults abused drugs. And many of these adults are aged between 45 – 65 years. The study shows that many adults abused Opioids compared to young adults. This could because several adults are accessed could affordable to purchase high abused prescribed drugs. Over the last decades, a study medical practitioner indicates that millions of people die as result of drug abuse. This could be either by using medically prescribed Opioids or illegal Opioids such as heroin and cocaine.
Opioids are one of the widely abused medically prescribed drugs in the United States. Survey indicated that approximately 20% and 15% of adults and teenagers respectively over used Opioids. The drug misuse negatively affects the United State. A study has indicated that estimated 130 people die monthly as a result of drug overdose. The drug overdose also causes economic burden to the United States. It is estimated that the U.S. government spends approximately %78 billion on drug related cases CITATION Tri14 \p 14 \l 1033 (Trivedi, Shaikh, & Gwinnut, 2014, p. 14). Therefore, the best solution is to address the problem of Opioids amicably. Studies have also established that the abuse of drugs result from psychological issues and therefore, this study intends to establish the level of the usage of Opioids. According to federal bureau of investigation, Opioids include illegal drugs such as heroin, cocaine and others. It is therefore, important to investigate the accessibility of drugs and measures, which can be taken to reduce the level of drug abuse among teenagers.
The problem of drug abused deep rooted and it has caused death of several people in the worldwide. In the United States, the issue of Opioids causes high public outcry. It has become public health issues and therefore, addressing it requires a collaboration of various departments of both state and federal government. According to National institute on Drug Abuse, many people using Opioids use them for the purpose of releasing pain. However, this does not solve pain but it adds problem to an individual user.
Research Methodology
The study of this research to be conducted using qualitative and secondary research method in order to obtained accurate and detailed result CITATION Bor05 \p 25 \l 1033 (Nielsen, 2005, p. 25). In this qualitative method, about 250 people to be used to complete the study. First, participants to be grouped based on age, gender and years of drug abuse. The questionnaires then will be given to each participant whereby they would be required to fill in the form and then submit for analysis. This shall be done through an online platform whereby questionnaires sent to the participants answer within a specific time and then forward back for analysis. It is also important to point that interviews will also be integrated to provide deep understanding of issues related to Opioids.
Result
The data was analyzed and then result provided based on the method used. The result will be directly illustrated to show the impact of Opioids to the society. Based on the result the Opioids are used by majority of people and therefore, it is one of the dangerous drugs public health is solving. It is also obtained 15% of young adults aged between 21 to 35 years abused the use of Opioids and therefore, it has become a major issues. The result of the study focuses on the impact on Opioids users and public health officers. It also interrogates methods, which can be applied to address the problem of drug abuse in the society.
Discussion
In the discussion section, the result of the study to be widely discussed and relate with several literature reviews. It will discussion how to address problem of Opioids, impact it had in the society, and finally long term solution to the widespread of Opioids. It is also important to note that various solution such providing alternative drugs as a painkiller to be provided.

A study also indicates that Opioids have killed several people. And according to research by public health about 45000 people die annually as result of Opioids related drugs. Besides it also been stated that the Opioids increase the level of insanity and over the last years, about 10000 people have been tested to have lost their sanity. This is huge impact to people and therefore, the best solution is to address the problem amicable. Studies have also indicated that the number of people affected by Opioids continues to increase annually due to lack of efficient method to address the problem. State governments and federal government have come up with various strategies to solve the problem but those strategies have failed to address the problem amicable. In order to solve the problem of drug abuse across the country, it is important to partner with the local communities, state and federal government. The hospitals or healthcare facilities should be equipped with knowledge to address the problem. People suffering from Opioids should also be given antiopioids as a curative measure to address the widespread of the abuse of drugs in the country.
