2: What is the Agent?
Agent for dengue is mosquitoes of the Aedes aegyptil and aedes albopticus. These transmit disease through biting a human host.
3: What are the symptoms?
Its symptoms infest themselves in different stages. Initially patient get fever along with strong headache, dizziness, and pain in the muscles which reaches the back side of eye balls. Slowly pains grow into sever joint pain.
4: How is the disease spread / Modes of transmission?
It spreads through bite of the agent mosquito. When mosquito bites the host, the virus enters in the body and in few hours it gets activated.
5: What may or not have been done to stop/slow the outbreak?
The only way to control the outbreak is to avoid the mosquito bite by wearing tight clothing, using mosquito lotions and nets, and avoiding mosquito breeding places.
6: How does this relate to epidemiology and public health?
The number of dengue incidents are increasing worldwide and is one of the major causes of deaths. The dengue cases have increased in 2019 in comparison to 2018 in the Western Pacific region. These outbreaks are also reported in the African countries and America. Thus it can be related to epidemiology as it is the field of health care and medicine that deals and studies with the distribution and incidences of the disease. Also it suggests the various controlling factors that can influence the outbreaks and avoid them.
