There are countless improvements in social media and technology. These improvements brought increased change in communication across cultures. Social media has positively brought attention to the events all around the world, but it is also essential that we examine the negative effects of social media has on human's experience in society. The overuse of social media is a global issue which needs to get resolved. Research has shown that more usage of the internet can have a highly negative impact on our emotional and mental health. There are many social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc., which are contributing a lot as these social media platforms are providing opportunities to engage with people all around the world.

Every politician wants his positive impact on people. Social Media is providing an opportunity to engage with people and explain to them about their cause. It is also offering ways to different political parties to increase their popularity among the people. Social Media websites have played a vital role in many elections around the world. Many politicians have inspired people through social media, and they were able to increase their popularity. Social media platforms are helping politicians to listen about the problems people are facing in society and try to resolve them. (Bennett, 2012).

Social media is providing ways of communication which are helping people in understanding different cultures by interacting with people of different communities. Students are also getting benefits from social media to improve their academic proficiency (Wang & Wei, 2012).

Social media also provides privacy to people, but many people don't understand the privacy policies and share their personal data on social sites. People must be careful before sharing their stuff on social media otherwise it will haunt them. Many companies perform a background checkup of an employee before hiring him if someone posts stuff which is unethical it will create an adverse impact on the personality of an individual. People should be careful while sharing stuff on their personal accounts because if they share something vulnerable, it may affect their relationship with people (Taddicken, 2014).
Social media and cyberbullying.
Social media has many positives as well as negatives. Cyberbullying is one of the main problems which people are facing on social media sites. Many people are a victim of cyber bullying and harassment on social media. People are not careful, and they are becoming a victim of unscrupulous people. Many children, students, young girls and especially women are becoming a victim of, and it is creating depression & stress in their life. Many people also get threatened by the attacker and instead of taking legal action against them people pay a high amount of money to get rid of them (Hamm et al., 2015).
Conclusion
Social media has positives as well as negatives, so it is up to you that how social websites will be used to either benefit or harm yourself. As an individual, it is up to you how wisely social media sites will be used to enhance your professional as well as social life. People must ensure they don't fall as the victim of the online attackers by not sharing their personal data with anyone or on any social website. People should try to spend less time on social media to save their time and utilise it somewhere else.
