Introduction
Government policies, economy, and society and all external variable factors that have a drastic influence on one’s ability to live out their American dream. Many people can provide their reflection on this statement. However, my reflection about this topic would be addressed in the discussion below using proper critical thinking skills.
Discussion
Identification
The American dream is no longer regarded to as buying just a house at an excellent real estate and owning a pleasant business or a car. It links more with freedom, equality of opportunity, and respect. I believe that all these external factors such as the change in government policies, economy, and society leads towards a change in one's ability to live out their American Dream. However, freedom, equality or respect have no constraints with the changes in policies, economy, or society. These can be achieved without any of these influences. Thus one can implacably live an American Dream and not necessarily own a house and run a flourishing business. Our fundamentals have become so flawed that the real American Dream has been incredibly changed with time. Instead of making values our dream, we have made achieving assets as fulfilling the ultimate dream. What we require is a change in thinking and preferences, rather than a change in the whole system, society, and economy.
Conclusion
People have to ability to shape their lives according to their will and desire. Thus they can also achieve the American dream regardless of any outside influences. Having to accomplish an American Dream is solely affiliated with ones power to influence over another, earn their respect, have a mutual understanding with people, and freedom over their own life. People, if provided with an equal opportunity, can earn the real dream of being an influential part of the society and also be accepted.
