Question 1: Student 1 (Salma Nawar)
There are several elements that go into a translation project. For a project to come together each step needs to work individually before you put them all together and combine their power. The primary elements that I would want to see in a translation project report are a breakdown of who put in the work, the type of content that was created and the total project cost. I would want this done in a very professional manner and broken down in an organized report so I could analyze it.
These three components; the people accessing the reports, the type of content, and the final result. These three would be the most important in my translation project report because without them the project would not exist. They are the big moving parts that bring everything together. The collaborators, team managers and administrators are the biggest contributors to the translation project. After all their work, what's left is editing and quality assurance. My report would include everyones work/roles, their contributions and the content that was created. It would be a comprehensive overview of the entirety of the project.
Responses student 1
I take the chance to thank you for the response on the elements of the translation project because the response has highlighted the factors that are needed. However, there is over wording in your work which makes it hard to identify the main points that are required. Poor construction of sentences is observed which makes it hard to understand the content of the response. Your work should be brief and direct to the point for clear understanding. Thank you.
Question 1 Student 2 Alexzandria Rattanavong r
In a translation project report, there are a lot of questions that need to be asked and answered. Types of questions would vary depending on the roles of each specialized team member. Primary elements required for a translation project report are: "how many words were translated, edited, and reviewed by your translators, along with the Translation Memory leverage used" (Translation Activity Reports). The report will gage the project team of the activity of the translated document.
Word metrics liked translated, edited and reviewed words will be the main information viewed in reports. Translated words are words that are picked up only once and is not repeated in the word count. Edited words are words changed and edited in meaning. Edited words are not also classified as reviewed words. " Reviewed words are translations that have been marked as reviewed or proofread" (Translation Activity Reports).
Response Student 2
Thank you for taking the time to answer the question of the elements of the translation project. The aspects of the translation project are not clearly stated. Also, the issue second part of the problem requires the student to answer why the features mentioned are essential. Your answer does not provide solutions to this part of the question. Poor wording and definitions of the elements you identified in your work which makes it hard to understand.
Question 2: Student 1(Salma Nawar)
Designing a web site for a global corporation is a labor intensive task. When it comes to the translation cost aspects of the project there are a lot of factors that need to be taken into consideration. The amount of time spent on the project, the language it is being translated in, the length of the documents being translated, the complexity of the work itself etc.
Translation costs have a variety of different determining factors. Price and fees per source word, rate per complexity of the source word, price per language combination, rush rates, editing and proofreading rates, localization fees, etc. The price of translation ranges anywhere between $.05 and $.20 cents. based on that the price of my project would be determined
Responses Student 1
Your response explains the aspects of cost considered in designing the website of a company. The values of translation prices show that proper research is conducted to answer the question. Your work presents the aspects of the cost needed to answer the question. However, avoid the use of abbreviation like etc. when giving examples. Also, you should consider checking your critical punctuation is presenting quality work. The statement “based on that the price of my project would be determined” is not clear. Thank you.
Question 2: Student 2 (George Torres)
Translation for a global corporation website will cost depending on several aspects of the translations. In particular, the translation costs will rely heavily on the language, number of words, format, and difficulty.
For languages such as Arabic and Japanese, translation costs per word are higher in contrast to languages such as Spanish or French. Each website uses a different kind of format. Usually websites have basic HTML formats, and costs can be formulated accordingly. Also, difficulty of text (whether it be legal. Business, or marketing terms that must be used) determine translation costs along with the requested delivery time the client would like said translation finished and delivered.
Responses Student 2
Your work addresses the cost aspects that are discussed in translation. However, the question is about designing a website, and the answer presented fails to mention creating a website which should be a sentence to show that the answer is on designing a translation website. The first paragraph seems incomplete, and you may consider completing it. Also, the response to the question has grammatical errors that need to be corrected to enhance clarity and understanding. Thank You.
