Achieving a university degree is by far the most important step in life a student in today's world that is increasingly becoming more challenging. Pursuing higher education means that an individual would acquire intellectual and social abilities for the coming life. For many students, the sole objective of pursuing higher education is to make more money. However, my case is different. There are multiple reasons for which I am pursuing higher education. Of course, everybody wants to make money in order to make ends meet effectively. However, I want to expand my knowledge base as well. Pursuing higher education will give an insightful knowledge of the subjects that I would choose. Higher education will equip me with essential skills like thinking critically and analytically analyze things from different perspectives. These skills will help me building my capacity to make decisions based on logic. These are the skills that would definitely help after pursuing higher education.

I served as a licensed practitioner nurse for four years. That gave me hands-on experience with the practices in place in the healthcare domain. After that, I went back to school to achieve my Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). I received my ADN in 2015. Since then, I have focused completely to excel in the field of healthcare. Currently, I am working as a nursing manager for OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio. I have the distinction of being the only African American Manager at the Doctor's Hospital. The next thing I want in my career is to get enrolled in the OhioHealth Scholar Program. OhioHealth Scholar Program provides an opportunity for healthcare enthusiasts to gain training and experience of rural and urban medicine. The skills and knowledge that I have acquired over time would definitely help me to thrive in the program.

Certainly, the path I am embarking on enable me to give something back to my community as well.
