“Due” date Vs “Do” date
In the context of an assignment, "Due' date is the date in which an assignment must be turned in. On the other hand, "Do" date can be defined from the time an assignment was assigned until the time it is to be submitted. Typically, "Due" date is firm and absolute which if missed, can result in a penalty. While the objective of "Do" date is to get something done in a specific amount of time to meet the "Due" date. The "Do" date helps a student in planning and collecting the data that is required to complete an assignment on time. This also includes time management strategies that are required to meet the designated deadline. It is recommended that in the "Do" time a student must break the assignment into several parts so that they can spend more time on the difficult part and less on the easy part of an assignment.
The Six Pillars of Character helps a lot in understanding the responsibility that one has when he or she is assigned with any task ("The Six Pillars of Character," n.d.). I will teach my future students to abide by the "Due" and "Do" date by explaining to them the importance of both the dates. Furthermore, I will tell them the penalty if they are unable to abide by the "Due date so that they can take it seriously. I will tell them that they can review the given assignment in the "Do" date so that in case of any ambiguities they can discuss it before. Additionally, I will tell them to discuss the questions in the class, so that the students who are not confident enough to ask questions can also get benefit from the discussion, and can complete the assignment within time. I will also tell them the importance of time management so that they can also divide their assignment according to the time assigned to abide by the "Due" date.
