Introduction
Online and newspaper articles, are the best sources that could be accessed for information on how the investigators collect evidence to track or identify the person of interest. Once I went through a criminal story in which investigators by collecting markers and proofs from scene caught the culprit. It was the story of eighteen years old boy, John Kevin Gilmartin, who was involved in a robbery and other crimes along with his friend.
Discussion
It was the story of John Kevin Gilmartin who was caught by the Davenport Police Department back in 2013, for an armed robbery and other crimes. From the camera recordings and photos, it became evident that on 29th May 2013, John and his partner started victimizing people. First in the early morning, they took a box of ice bars and sandwich from Walmart at Kimberly Road without paying. The same day, John and his partner robbed a man at gunpoint. The gun that was used by John was taken to a forensic lab (Kohli,et,al,2018). Lab report proved that it was John’s fingerprints on that gun. Fingerprints proved, John was the person of interest that police was looking for (Scherer,et,al,2019). Pieces of evidence supported the decision of a court that John and his partner should be punished for robbery, Burglary, and theft.
Conclusion
Taking a look at the above-mentioned crime story, it could be promulgated that investigators (police) use latest technology. For example, from recordings, photos and forensic report of fingerprints, Investigators in May 2013 got pieces of evidences. These evidences proved that John was the person of interest (criminal) along with his partner. Investigators collected the proofs at Kimberly road that helped them a lot in tracking the real culprits (John and his partner) who were punished by the court for committing crimes like robbery, burglary and keeping the illegal weapons.
