Bastian Profile Essay

Life is a journey and every person in this journey tries to do something to make it adventurous and exciting. People who are highly ambitious are keen to fulfil these demands and challenges. Such people feel proud to achieve their goals and make others proud of their achievement. Bastian Blumenberg is one of the prides of our soccer team in Wesleyan.

Bastian Blumenberg is from Chile, Santiago. He is about 21 yearsold. A soccer goalkeeper’s performance requires physical elements that are quickness and power. Bastian has both qualities. It is quite exciting to watch him keep the opponents from making a single goal. It is very enthusiastic to watch 21 years old in the ground playing passionately.

When I first met him, I was very pleased with his attitude. I was influenced by him for having so much love for soccer. He says in the interview that he loves playing soccer since he was a child and he has played in good teams such as Dallas Texans Soccer Club. He says that it is a good experience and he has learned a lot from it. His biggest supporter is his coach so he decides to come to the Texas. He is in USA for 3 years and this is his third year at Texas Wesleyan. He is living in the campus because he has made a lot of friends there. He is an undergraduate student and his major is Business Administration. Apart from being the best goalkeeper he has receive a scholarship from the school for being on the college team.One of his biggest dreams is to become a professional soccer player in the future. He works hard day by day to accomplish his goal.

He is very comfortable in giving me an interview. It is like we have met before and we are having a conversation just like friends. He looks very dedicated towards his team. When I asked him, what is his future goal he said that “I want to play with professional team such as Barcelona or Real Madrid. At the end of my soccer career, I want to continue my life as a couch.” This show his determination and loyalty towards soccer. He wants to dedicate his life for soccer that after soccer career he still wants to be the part of soccer in anyway.

Strong determination towards goals can make someone do anything. He is adopting everything that will help him in being a successful soccer goalkeeper. As he wants to dedicate his whole life to soccer, the main reason that he chooses business administration is that he will graduate from the university as soon as possible because he wants to give more time and focus to soccer. Working hard for goals is a healthy exercise but along with it a person should focus on his health and social life. Every person keeps balanced between his social, personal and professional life and that is how life goes on smoothly. Bastian is very much concerned about his personal life and health as much as he is concerned about his profession. In an interview he talks about how he manages his part time. He goes to gym as that will help him being fit and healthy. He gives a lot of attention to his health because it is important for being a goalkeeper. His social life is also going good. He spends rest of the time with his girlfriend.

Every person in the world learns and that is how they grow up in life. Experience is very essential part of human life. Through experience one can gain knowledge, learn from mistakes and become successful in life. When I asked him about the philosophy of his life, he said “life contains but two tragedies. One is not to get your heart’s desires; the other is to get it.” He beautifully describes the truth of life in just one sentence. He believes that life always give two options, it is on us to choose what is best for us. Either we go for what our heart wants or just leave it there as it is. Both will have tragic effect in the life of a person.

Hard work, passion, and determination can help a person to achieve his goals but the most important and helpful thing is to have a support of the family. This is all that a man needs to be successful in his life. Bastian is very lucky in this matter. He says that before going to soccer game he gives a quality time to his family. He always has a little conversation with his family to gain support, motivation and blessings. Having a little conversation with the family gives him hope, strength and great motivation.

Achievement is something which makes a person proud of himself. In the journey of being successful a person always get rewards. These rewards help him move forward. They somehow motivates a person to do even better. I am astounded to know about his rewards. He says that he has got many rewards from some of the tournaments which were in Clausura 2016 league. He is playing in San Pedro Club and he does not lose a single match in that tournament. Without any doubt, it is the proud moment for the whole team. He said, “This championship is the turning point of my life and it was the moment I will never forget.”

Winning and losing is the part of a game but controlling emotions at that time is very difficult for players like Bastian. He says that he is every emotional person. He also says that people will find me sometimes angry, happy or even crying during the game. As he is very passionate about his profession, so there are some emotions that are attached to his game. Hardships are part of life and through hardships a person learn to cope every time. Looking at a goalkeeper from far his very enthusiastic but what they are facing in their life is unknown to people. He says that there are some difficulties in his life but he is determined to be optimistic and will never give up for his life.
