Leadership Principles
Introduction
The leadership styles that I have vouched for in my previous paper are Charismatic leadership style intertwined with Transformational leadership style. When it comes to effective Leadership, there are various and uncountable amounts of theories and definitions present. Every leader has his or her own novel formula for achieving success (Amanchukwu, Stanley Ololube, 2015). However, there are keys which can help validate leadership, that should never be avoided or look past. In this paper, I will be discussing three leadership principles associated with the leadership styles that I will be using in the workplace. I will also justify why I use these leadership principles and how the people working in the organization react to them.
Discussion
My first principle is chasing the vision of the company, not money. Leaders ought to have a vision. The vision goes beyond the mission and vision statement of the organization. The leader manifests the vision with the help of his or her actions, beliefs, values and the goals that they have. Without having a vision, the activities that are held out are next to useless. The second principle is that Flexibility can be shown in terms of behavior but not in terms of values. Depending on the circumstances I change my leadership style. Having said that, no matter what the behavior or style, the values are never compromised, they remain the same. Lastly, leadership is all about the people present in the organization. What is the point of being a leader when there are no people to communicate and engage with No point whatsoever that is why I believe in keeping in touch with my employees.
The reason why I have chosen these principles for both my leadership styles is that they have an impact. The vision of the company is what gives it the foundation to progress more, it stays constant throughout the existence of the company. If I do not make my employees believe that we have a vision and a direction, what is the point of the company None. So this helps translate the goals to my employees and keep them motivated. It is not just the fact that I go around continually mentioning the vision, I make them believe it through my body language and my actions. The only way an employee will get on the track of the vision is if I am following it. When it comes to flexibility, yes I do show that when it comes to behavior. I am willing to bend the rules, but the values stay the same and are not impacted (Ribbins, 2018). This helps me take any path possible to achieve the end result without influencing the company values. Lastly, I believe in engaging and communicating with my employees. This helps create a sense of acceptance and importance. The employees get to know that they are important and they have a purpose in the company. This helps keep them motivated and makes the whole organization function as a team.
Conclusion
The leadership principles are essential to make the leader style work. When it comes to the leadership style that I have been using in my company I have noticed that both the management and my subordinates have been reacting to it very well. The fact that I am making constant stern on my vision is making them look at things from a passionate perspective as well. The bending of the rules as long as the values remain constant has helped employees make decisions to get maximum results. There is no restriction on creativity any more. Lastly, having constant and consistent communication on all the levels of the company has helped motivate the workers on all levels to give their best. It has helped me understand all the people working in the company as well now I know what words can help pull out the maximum quality work from the employees while keeping them satisfied and happy.
