This Privacy Policy explains how FreeEssayWriter.net ("Free Essay Writer", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use our website and free writing tools (the "Service"). We are based in Kalispell, Montana, United States. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

The short version
- You do not need an account, and we never ask for your name, address or payment details.
- Some tools run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere.
- Other tools send the text you submit to Google's Gemini API so it can be processed.
- We keep a short-lived cache of generated results and a hashed record of usage to enforce daily limits.
- We do not sell your information.
Which tools send your text off our site
This differs by tool, so it is worth being precise:
Tools that process entirely in your browser
The Sentence Counter performs all of its calculations locally on your device using JavaScript. The text you paste into it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we never see it.
Tools that send text to a third-party AI provider
The Essay Writer, Paraphraser, Grammar Checker and AI Detector work by sending the topic or text you provide to the Google Gemini API, operated by Google LLC, which generates or analyses the content and returns a result. Your text is transmitted to and processed on Google's servers.
Please read this carefully. We currently use Google's free API tier. Under Google's terms for free-tier usage, Google may use content submitted through the API to develop and improve its products and services, and human reviewers may read, annotate and process such content. This is Google's practice, not ours, and it differs from Google's paid tier.
The practical consequence is simple: do not paste confidential, sensitive or personally identifying information into these tools. That includes unpublished research, personal data about other people, medical or financial details, or anything covered by a confidentiality agreement. Use a generic topic rather than sensitive source material wherever you can.
Google's handling of API data is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, which you should review at ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms and policies.google.com/privacy.
Information we collect
Content you submit
When you use a tool, you may type or paste a topic, prompt or passage of text. For the browser-based tool this stays on your device. For the AI-powered tools it is sent to Google as described above, and is also handled briefly by our server in order to pass it on and return the result.
Cached results
To reduce load and avoid repeating identical work, our server stores generated results in a temporary cache for up to 12 hours. The cache is keyed on a one-way hash of the request settings, is not linked to you personally, and expires automatically. Identical requests from any visitor during that window may be served the stored result.
Usage limits
Our tools have daily usage limits so that they stay free and available to everyone. To enforce these we store two things, both as one-way hashes and both expiring at the end of each day:
- A random identifier your browser generates and stores locally for itself, which does not identify you personally;
- Your IP address, stored only as a hash, used to prevent abuse.
We do not use these for tracking, profiling, advertising or device fingerprinting.
Technical information
Like most websites, our servers and analytics automatically record limited technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits. This helps us keep the Service secure, diagnose problems and understand how it is used.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and similar browser storage for essential site functions, for analytics, and to remember the anonymous identifier used for daily limits. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How we use information
- To provide, operate and maintain the writing tools;
- To generate the specific output you asked for;
- To enforce fair daily usage limits and prevent abuse;
- To improve and develop features and content;
- To respond to messages you send us; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with:
- Google LLC, as the AI provider processing text you submit to the AI-powered tools, on the terms described above;
- Service providers that host our website, deliver content and provide analytics;
- Authorities, where required by law or a valid legal request;
- A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
This site also loads fonts and libraries from third-party networks, which may receive your IP address as part of delivering those files.
Data retention
- Text you submit: not stored by us beyond the temporary cache described above.
- Cached results: up to 12 hours, then automatically deleted.
- Usage-limit records: hashed, and expire at the end of each day.
- Technical and analytics data: kept only as long as needed for security and analysis, then deleted or anonymised.
- Data held by Google: governed by Google's own retention practices, which we do not control.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including transmitting data over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Age requirement
Our AI-powered tools are built on a third-party provider whose terms require users to be 18 years of age or older. Accordingly, the Service is intended only for adults aged 18 or over, is not directed to minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, or to object to it and opt out of certain uses. To make a request, email info@freeessaywriter.com.
Because our tools work without accounts, we usually hold little or no information that identifies you, which may limit what we can act on. Requests relating to data held by Google should be directed to Google.
International users
We operate from the United States, and the AI processing described above takes place on Google's infrastructure, which may be located in the United States or other countries. If you access the Service from elsewhere, your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws from your own.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including if we change AI providers or how our tools work. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
