The service
Free Essay Writer provides free, browser-based writing tools, including an essay writer, paraphraser, grammar checker, sentence counter and AI detector. The tools are provided free of charge and without any account or subscription. We may add, change or remove features at any time.
Third-party AI processing
Several of our tools work by sending the text you provide to a third-party artificial intelligence provider, currently the Google Gemini API operated by Google LLC, which processes it and returns a result. By using those tools you consent to your text being transmitted to and processed by that provider.
We currently use Google's free API tier, under which Google may use submitted content to develop and improve its services, and human reviewers may read it. Accordingly, you must not submit confidential, sensitive or personally identifying information, material belonging to someone else, or anything you are contractually or legally required to keep private. We do not control that provider's availability, output or terms, and we are not liable for its acts or omissions. The Sentence Counter runs entirely in your browser and does not transmit your text.
Fair use limits
Because the Service is free and depends on third-party capacity, daily usage limits apply to most tools. We may change these limits, apply additional rate limiting, or temporarily restrict access in order to keep the Service available to everyone. Attempting to circumvent these limits through automated requests, scripted access or similar means is a breach of these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older to use our AI-powered tools. This is required by the terms of the third-party artificial intelligence provider on which those tools depend, and it applies regardless of the minimum age in your own country. By using the Service you confirm that you are at least 18 and that you can form a binding agreement.
The Service is not directed to, and must not be used by, anyone under 18.
Availability by region
Our AI-powered tools depend on a third-party provider whose services are only offered in certain regions, and whose terms restrict how those services may be made available in some territories. We may therefore limit or withdraw access to some tools depending on where you are located. Tools that run entirely in your browser, such as the Sentence Counter, are not affected by these restrictions.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:

- submit unlawful, harmful, hateful or abusive content;
- seek or produce medical, clinical, legal, financial or other professional advice, or use output in clinical practice or any regulated medical setting;
- attempt to bypass the safety filters applied by our AI provider;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
- use automated means to scrape or abuse the tools; or
- misrepresent generated content in a way that is deceptive or harmful.
Academic integrity
Our tools are intended to help you brainstorm, structure, draft and improve your own writing. You are responsible for how you use the output. Many schools and institutions have their own rules about the use of writing and AI tools. It is your responsibility to follow your institution's academic integrity policy and to ensure the work you submit is genuinely your own.
Your content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of the text you enter and, as between you and us, the output the tools generate for you. You grant us a limited licence to process your input as needed to operate and improve the Service. All other content on the site, including our branding, design, text and code, belongs to Free Essay Writer or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.
No warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Generated content is produced automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your purpose. You should review and verify any output before relying on it. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Free Essay Writer and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, grades, opportunities or profits, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
