Anxiety Disorder
Anxiety disorder is recognized as a chronic form of psychological disorders. It is defined as the prominent feelings of anxiety and extreme fear. In other words, the phenomenon of anxiety is identified as worrying about future happenings. The intensity of disorder varies by the outcome in the form of a symptom. It is noteworthy to establish that people often have more than one form of anxiety disorder.
Diagnostic Criteria of Anxiety Disorder
Proper management of anxiety disorder is successfully possible through the diagnostic perspective. Exploration of proper diagnostic criteria is essential for the professionals to provide appropriate treatment to the patients who are suffering from anxiety disorders (Feldman, 2018). When it comes to diagnosing criteria for anxiety disorder, healthcare providers have to consider the following steps:
1. Clear indications in the form of extreme anxiety and worry concerning different aspects, events, or activities. The feeling of worry is appearing constantly and it is excessive.
2. The prospect of worry is experienced as very challenging to handle appropriately. The problem in both adults and children may easily transfer from one domain to another.
3. There is consideration of physical or cognitive symptoms to identify the intensity of problems of anxiety and worry. Exploration of these aspects is essential to propose suitable treatment level.
4. The symptoms of anxiety disorders are recognized in the form of restlessness, excessive fatigue, improper concentration level, irritability, muscle aches, and great difficulty in sleeping.
5. Identification of excessive worry is an essential step to identify the specific threats and concerns associated with the issue of anxiety disorder. The issue of extreme worry is alarming even when there is no evidence of specific and visible risk of an unwanted event.
Anxiety Disorder as Abnormal Behavior

Exploration of the difference between normal and abnormal anxiety disorder is important to propose better treatment of this issue. Distinction between normal anxiety and anxiety disorder is mandatory to provide suitable treatment and counseling to the victims. It classifies as abnormal behavior and a chronic condition because it restrict people’s routine functioning and impedes with their overall well-being. The abnormal perspective of anxiety disorder results in significant suffering, social, and occupational inappropriateness (Spitzer, Kroenke, Williams, & Löwe, 2006). Exploration of the specific symptoms under the diagnostic criteria is essential to identify the issue of anxiety disorder as the abnormal behavior of the individual. Normal experiences of life turned as troubling for the person who is suffering from the issue of anxiety disorder.
Comparison of Two Approaches
Comparison of relevant approaches is a necessary step to identify the different concerns relevant to the issue of anxiety disorder. Biological and socio-cultural prospects are closely linked to the psychological problem of anxiety disorder. It is established that different biological complications eventually cause a higher risk of anxiety. Exploration of the biological aspects is necessary that increase the chances of anxiety disorder in case of different individuals. The biological vulnerabilities of anxiety disorder can never be ignored as it increases the levels of stress. On the other hand, social explanations of the anxiety disorder are also critical considering the domain of socio-cultural approach. Identification of social experiences is also essential to figure out the development of anxiety disorder. The socio-cultural approach is more preferable to identify the specific factors that are associated with the problem of anxiety disorder.
