Facilitate coping with death and disabilities
The profession of nursing is developing with modern and advance technologies. The goal and aim of nursing is also changing with time and it is necessary for any nurse to know and understand these aims. The death and dying of the patient often also burden the nursing relationship of the elderly person and the caregiver. Due to insecurity and fears connected with the topic, the imminent demise of the relatives in need of care is usually taboo.
In our society, there are many individuals with different kind of disabilities. For a competent nurse it is important to know about different disabilities and how to cope with them. Nursing not only affects senile people in the field of geriatric care. Even children born with disabilities need care from birth. Or young, active people who become a caregiver from one day to another as a result of an accident or illness are affected regardless of age. Those in need of care are those who need help from others due to a physical, mental or emotional illness or disability in their diet, mobility, personal care and home care.
The treatment, care and support of patients who are confronted with their own dying, is a central task of the medical zin, the high respect for the dignity and self-determination of the tinting and demands great ethical responsibility. Their fulfillment must be of be influenced by the principles of Palliative Care. (Read 8).
After choosing a nursing service, there is still the choice of the right care form. The different care services offer different benefits and are a good supplement or even alternative in the care of people with disabilities. Through their support, they help people in need of care to lead a self-determined and decent life despite their limitations. Through their offer and their help, they also take care of the caring relatives and relieve them of work.
My experience will help me to cope with death and disability. I have an experience as Nursing assistant. I am working in Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. For future RN nurse, I need to know my responsibilities and know the best ways to handle them. Information and guidance is very important in death and disabilities.
Proper information needed to provide family and relatives , so disability can be cope easily. Relatives of people in need of care have been supported more effectively by law and financial benefits have been increased. In practice, this means that they are more flexible in terms of employment and more secure in combining work and care.
