Academic integrity violations
In accordance with the Walden’s Academic Integrity Policy, three student paraphrases are evaluated. It is asserted that the paraphrase of Student B is effective because both citation and the content are equally acceptable. The rephrased paragraph is adequately cited and it is followed by the maximum quality of the content. Moreover, the citation is also appropriate in terms of structure (Academic Guides, 2019). So the paraphrase by student B is most effective because it follows all the directions of Walden Academic Integrity Policies.
The response of Student C is less effective than B because the citation is not appropriate. Although the source is directly cited by mentioning the name of the author it lacks “Quotation Marks” without which a text could be plagiarized (Academic Honesty, 2019). Moreover, the citation also lacks the page number citation. So the two flaws, lack of quotation marks and missing page number violates the Walden Academic Integrity Policies.
The least effective paraphrase is of Student A, it is found that the student has paraphrased the text without any citation from the source. Moreover, this paraphrase is just the displacement and skipping of major or some content words. The underlying information is similar to that of the source. So, this paraphrase violates the Walden Academic Integrity Policy by two reasons, one refers to no citation and the other refers to lack of paraphrased content (Academic Honesty, 2019).
