Situation 1
Describe the stressful workplace situation
Conflicts at the workplace can be very stressful in the tough working days. One of the situations can be conflict due to miscommunication with the physician regarding the patient care process and the patient suffers from it. Eventually, physician blaming nurses declaring them irresponsible for the patient suffering.
Stressor and trigger
The trigger can be misunderstandings due to a lack of effective communication. Failure in communication, making physician angry at the nurse.
Your Response to Stress/Trigger
The response would be to make physician aware of the misunderstanding by negotiating and taking the corrective action.
Stress Reduction or Removal techniques
The stress reduction method would be to make the authorities informed of the event to avoid such incident in future. The stress reduction method would be to work on communication skills and talking it out.
Situation 2
Describe the stressful workplace situation
Another stressful situation in the workplace is facing a patient who is in the worst medical condition and using abusive language. He is not allowing the nurse to touch him and pushes them away. Due to his violent behaviour, his conditions are worsening.
Stressor and trigger
The stressor in such situation is the violent and abusive behaviour of the patient towards healthcare staff. Nurses are not ready to face such situations.
Your Response to Stress/Trigger
The response would be to make the patient comfortable in the first place considering his condition.
Stress Reduction or Removal techniques
The stress reduction technique used in this case will be to talk to the physician and authorities regarding patient behaviour. In addition, getting training to deal will also remove stress from the current event.

I will develop emergency coping strategies, such as taking a quick break, taking deep breaths, and taking time in responding to something. At home, I will practice some soothing and relaxing activities such as listening to music, spending some time in the garden, and taking enough sleep. At the workplace, I will use some time management techniques to manage my time effectively. In addition, I will take help and support from colleagues in stressful situations. I also believe in doing regular exercises to reduce stress.
I will additionally learn some strategies to deal with conflicts at the workplace, to deal with tough patients and high workload.

Some of the strategies that can help in attaining a work-life balance are to make use of schedules, determining the priorities and establishing boundaries. These strategies will help in keeping the work life away from personal life. In addition, I will take time out for my family and relationships along with managing professional relationships to maintain a balance.
