Leadership skills
I like the post of Nneka because she has mentioned many personality strengths that are important for working in professional environment. I agree that empathy is most important strength for the individuals who are working in healthcare institute or clinics. This adds to the ability of the nurses for understanding the feelings of the patients (Chou et al., 2014). I think healthcare providers must be able to use empathy for studying the feelings of the patients and helping them in attaining health. Positivity is another leadership trait mentioned in the post that is crucial for helping patients in complex situations. I believe positivity will help young professionals to keep hope even in the most challenging situations. This will improve their encounter with the patients and ensure that they regain health (Brown et al., 2012). Harmony is also an important strength identified by Nneka, which is focused on building positive relationship with the patients. This creates positive environment and enhances the quality of care.
The post has identified responsibility as important leadership strength. Healthcare provide must accept his/ her responsibility of helping the patients by offering timely help. I think this will enhance the productivity and eliminate negative experiences of patients that might include late response from the staff (Kelly et al., 2014). The post stresses more on empathy and positivity because they are emphasizing on establishing a positive relationship with the patients (Kennedy et al., 2014). These attributes eliminate negative feelings of the patients. By focusing on positivity the healthcare providers will manage to act according to the situation and respond appropriately. Openness according to me is also crucial for taking a role of leadership. This improves the ability of healthcare providers to act intelligently according to the situation. I believe these set of leadership strengths will allow an individual to perform professional duties with caution.
