Informatics
I think that nursing principles on informatics can be used for managing the urinary tract infections. I agree with Tiffany that prevention of these infections require appropriate handling of catheters an most of these devices are used for retention after surgery. The nurse must also possess knowledge of removing the infections as soon as possible. I believe that nurses should have adequate knowledge and skills for using informatics. The hospitals can give training for using data informatics CITATION Asi14 \l 1033 (Darvish, Bahramnezhad, Keyhanian, & Navidhamidi, 2014).
The principles of informatics suggest that the charts and graphs must be used for addressing the health status of the patient. I think that the two most prominent benefits of data informatics include time management and efficiency. The nurses can make better use of informatics only if they are aware of the principles. Information structures also help nurses in communications and sharing details about patient’s status on time. I think that nurses could prevent CAUTI related infections by integrating informatics principles. Data can be used appropriately for communicating the health status, need for changes and improvements with the physicians and senior consultants CITATION LTh12 \l 1033 (Thede, 2012).
Efficient and quality care cannot be provided without data informatics. The nurses must develop competency and skills for using informatics in the clinical environments. This will help them in preventing errors and attaining accuracy in operations CITATION Asi14 \l 1033 (Darvish, Bahramnezhad, Keyhanian, & Navidhamidi, 2014). It depends on the capability of the nurses how they make use of this technology. I think integrating data informatics will improve the performance of nurse in managing patients with CAUTI. This can also assure timely recovery and minimization of the risks of developing complicated conditions. Principles of informatics offer details on how it must be used in hospitals.
