Hi Karen,

I agree with the points that you have highlighted in the post the impacts the bill will have on healthcare. The bill was presented by Rep Christopher Smith and suggested to prohibit the federal funds for abortions. The bill faced criticism from the supported of abortion but also received appreciation from the Opponents of anti-abortionist organizations CITATION Pro19 \l 1033 (Propublic, 2019). I think the bill will undergo thee whole process of policy making. The bill on abortion is not very appropriate so there is need for various modifications. I agree that the bill passes through scrutiny before it becomes a law. So these new recommendations proposed by Smith will take time for approval.

This is bill is also linked to many other bills such as the parenthood plan. For the policy making there is an entire process of formulation, adoption, implementation and evaluation. H.R 20 Bill states that there is not enough evidence for supporting it. I believe this bill will generate more criticism because cutting of the funding will not be appreciated by the supporters of abortions. Criticism from the females would be even more strong. For feminists this bill is the reflection of social and economic equality of the women CITATION Mat19 \l 1033 (Hadro, 2019). The argument that more funding for abortions creates budget shortage for more important sectors is rejected by the feminist supporters. Women will be most affected by this bill and they will present different arguments for justifying their positions CITATION DGF18 \l 1033 (Foster, Biggs, Ralph, Gerdts, Roberts, & Glymour, 2018).

I agree that women demand more fund for abortions because they claim that they must have the right to control their reproductive lives. They link abortions right with their basic rights. The bill will need to gain more support for making it a policy.
