Why nursing in SUNY Empire State College?
Nurses are the most highly trained professionals. They do independent and responsible work based on nursing science. Nurses are responsible for promoting and maintaining health, preventing and treating illness, and alleviating suffering. Patient-oriented, health-focused and holistic thinking is emphasized in the work of expert nurses. Nurses' expertise built on evidence-based nursing, and this is the reason why I want to join the SUNY Empire State College. Nurses know experts to bring a nursing perspective to a multidisciplinary team, and SMSC is an excellent example of this perspective. Nurses represent a wide range of nursing activities from practicing nurses to teachers, researchers and leaders.
Moreover, for the nursing profession, competences must be increased, and professional skills continuously developed in their careers. The professional career starts from the beginning of studies and continues throughout the working life. And I have a firm believe that SUNY Empire State College will help e to achieve my learning goals. Nurses should be supported in their careers by rewarding their expertise in all tasks, including immediate patient care.
Ethical issues are always present in nursing. Another perspective to join SUNY Empire State College is its ethical standards. Caring for ethical responsibilities requires nurses to have profound knowledge of nursing and nursing thinking. Taking moral responsibility also requires courage to discuss difficult issues and deal with faults.
A nurse is required to have interdimensional skills. The nurse carries out and develops nursing work that simultaneously promotes and maintains health, prevents and cures illnesses, and rehabilitates. The nurse acts independently for the care of the patient according to the doctor's instructions. And I am very sure that as a student of SUNY Empire State College, I will learn all skills that need for a competent nurse.
Nursing requires the master research knowledge produced by nursing, medical and pharmacology and other health and social sciences so that he or she can apply that knowledge to practical situations. Besides, working as a nurse requires strong ethical and professional decision-making skills. And I believe all have all these qualities to fulfil the criteria to get admission.
