The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) is widely used setup performance measurement in the managed care industry. It sets measures in the healthcare to maintained healthcare quality and reporting standards to ensure that there is quality provision of healthcare services. However, the HEDIS which could be implemented in a physician practice so that the patient outcomes can improve are anti-depressant Medication Management (AMM). The AMM is utilized to assess adults aged 18 years and older. It focuses on the depression and patients who are newly diagnosed antidepressant medication. The HEDIS is essential aspect in healthcare practice and it ensures that a standard system is maintained. The second HEDIS which could be use in this case is hypertension assessment to patients were hospitalized and discharge from the hospital after contracting other infection.

The healthcare field is always very concern about the health of patients and therefore, the data to be used to analyze the course and practice being done by physicians would be obtained from the laboratory, pharmacy. The data from the pharmacy and laboratory would help in establishing the cause of infection and therefore, the right procedure would be taken to avoid such cases from occurring within the healthcare setup again CITATION Hos14 \l 1033 ( Hospital CMS, 2014). Analysis the data would ensure that the patients are receiving the right medication to avoid any future error.

Through the application of one of the chosen HDIS the quality of healthcare provision would be improved. The AMM would be utilized through efficient medical research and providing medical prescription based on the lab report. Physicians should depend on the laboratory and the medical history of patients to reduce any kind of errors.
