The overall focus of this article is to provide the facts, related with frending such as social media, is ancient or not. in this way; the author attempts to explain the significant similarities between the medium of the internet as well as social media with that of the ancient tribal cultures. Moreover, the author also provides opposing views regarding the differences between social media and ancient culture.

In the attempt of providing similarities between the ancient tribal culture and social media, the author offers different similarities. One of the foremost similarity is considered as “orality”, which means talking. Hence, social media and tribal cultures, both represent the orality. Moreover, another similarity found between these two is considered as the "exchange of gift," as similar to the ancient on social media people also gift each other. Furthermore, the working of social dynamic is another similarity that exists between these two.

Social media is changing the way of life as well as our day to day interaction to a huge extent. As due to the high usage of online orality and relationship, we like to spend less time on the real oral culture. Also, in reality, we do not enjoy spending the real conversation, as compared with spending a lot of time on online conversation. However, as compared to the ancient tribal culture, social media is providing us with a different kind of reality of oral communication as compared with the already existing structure. Considering, all the factors, there is a positive and negative both as[ects, but negative impacts can be highlighted more because it is disrupting a healthy social dynamic.
