The author is using an objective approach in his writing based on the experiences of others. He used an example of retrieving things from an organizes closet and a closet which is messed up to tell that how an organized and spaced out practice under different challenging circumstances can help in learning and retrieving the information more effectively. The author then shared the vies of Professor Robert Bjork a well-known Memory Expert and then provided a guide for students and teachers regarding learning and retrieving information.

In reading this article I used using a mix of three approaches including Previewing, Contextualizing and Reflecting on challenges to your beliefs and values approach. At first, I preview the text and get the idea that the author is talking about information retrieving strategies, and the targeted audience is students. Then I read the text through the lens of my own experience and then analyze that if I had to memorize some information I prefer to recall and practice it more. I also used to outline and summarize the things so that I can make a difference between the main idea of retrieval, and the supporting ideas for how to learn and retrieve.
