On a bright sunny morning, detective Alex was out for a walk. He was reflecting upon a case he solved last summer. Although, it was eleven AM, but he was not awake as he loves sleeping. He was in a pleasant mood until his cellphone rang. As usual, he ignored. After reaching the nearby coffee shop, he had a coffee and again his phone rang. So, in a grumpy voice he answered, “Now what John, it’s my rostered off”. John responded, “Sorry sir! But we have a case and I think we have a serial killer on the run”. Alex after listening to John became happy and went straight to his office. “Ok, boys get ready for some fun”, Alex said to the fellow detectives while they were getting ready to explore the crime scene.
Upon reaching the crime scene, Alex saw a dead body of a young girl in her mid-twenties. The girl was stabbed multiple times. He started interviewing the people to obtain answers and clues due to his excellent communication skills. While he was interviewing, John said, “The dead girl’s index finger is missing, may be the killer took the finger with him”. Alex knew that the serial killer that murdered the young girl was the same who killed multiple girls a few years back.
He immediately went back to the office and then locked his cabin. He started to open the old case files and then gathered the victims list along with their pictures. Alex noticed that all the victims were blonde and had blue eyes and were in their mid and late twenties. He started to wonder how the killer must have located the victims. While he was thinking he saw that in one picture the index finger and the middle finger both were missing. Similarly out of thirty victims, many victims had only index finger missing. He realized that the killer who killed the young lady today was not the same and rather the copycat of the previous killer. Alex was in a middle of linking the case when the coffee shop server came and said, “Sir! You have slept for almost two hours and now you have to leave as customers are not allowed to sleep here”. Alex was shocked that he slept in a coffee shop. He then went outside and saw an ice-cream truck. He brought the ice-cream and started eating it with the spoon while walking to his office as he had habit of coming late to the office owing to his habit of day dreaming.
