It was a day when people woke up one day and found that all their smartphones are not working due to communication breakdown in the United States because of fog. It was not a normal day as perceived by the majority of the population. The chaos which followed afterward bothered a major portion of the nation, however, it brought about a unique social aspect which people had seemingly forgotten long ago. Initially, they gathered in the streets and parks sharing uncomfortable stares but after a span of time, daring to connect was considered a better option.
A sudden physical paradigm shift was no doubt awkward beyond the stretch of the imagination but ice started melting with the passage of time and people started connecting. Human emotions, memories from the past, attentive conversations and social acceptance started to gain grounds. People were sharing their experiences as to how they initially responded when they came to know that smartphones were off.
People were seen doing yoga, involved in playing with kids and talking about other affairs. Young men left their desktops, sat with their families, and were entertaining themselves. The situation was a little uncouth when a friend made this sincere assertion, “Today I had the opportunity to sit with my relatives, they’re rather good people”. This state prolonged till the end of the night giving people another option to feel an even greater feeling of connection than otherwise (of course depending on age). The fog vanished at last and people were back with their ‘normal’ routines.
