After studying Zapata as a Mexican Revolutionary hero along with the assistance of history, it could be said that there are many heroes and Emiliano Zapata is one of the Mexican heroes who became a symbol of the Mexican Revolution after his assassination. Zapata crusaded so that he could return and enter the Mexican peasant's hut and is represented as a ghostlike figure by some artists (especially by Orozco) who appeared at the door of the peasant’s huts. He was the rescuer of the oppressed and frightened peasants who he fought for. Zapata encouraged peasants for making their own force called the Liberating Army of the South. Zapata played the role of the savior of the peasants due to which he was used in many murals as the central figure. He was one of the most important figures linked with revolution, who wanted to support peasants who were oppressed and were near to having their lands stolen from them. In one of the murals “The Ballad of Emiliano Zapata” in which Zapata is surrounded by a few guitar-strumming peasants who were playing in front of a banner having Zapata’s image on it. Zapata was the brave revolutionary hero, who took part in the revolution so that he could help the peasants for fighting for things they deserved.
Zapata was the major figure of the Mexican Revolution, who struggled for the peasants so that they could get their rights and fight for saving their lands. Zapata's struggle as the hero of the Mexican revolution earned him huge respect from the peasants as they treated him as a divine being. In another mural “Orozco, Study for Zapata Entering a Peasant’s Hut”, 1930 canvas mural is the proof of this claim as intense emotions have been evoked in it. Being a major part of the Mexican revolution, he was bowed to by a peasant who seemed to be stretching his hands towards Zapata for seeking his blessing or seeking permission for appeal. The Mexican Revolution was accelerated by efforts that Zapata made and on this same mural, it could be seen that Zapata did not stand passively, rather he was in motion and the peasants fell on their knees for him.
Zapata has been portrayed in different murals as different artists perceive his ideology in various ways and in "En Vano" in which a glimpse of his courage and bravery could be witnessed. Events of the revolution were responded to, differently. Spinning the wheel of history, it could be witnessed that Zapata and his armies rushed and got into battle while showing their humility and passion for the peasants. Zapata fought and raised his voice against the oppression and threats that terrified them. It could be seen that he had been immensely popular with peasants who got their savior, who could go out against anything that made them, the peasants, feel injustice was being done (Hutton,1984). History has revealed that Zapata and his people were used as the imagery of bravery and especially as Zapata, who was portrayed as a martyr of justice, tried to safeguard the peasants. It had been portrayed that he was entering the hut of the peasant who was tortured and mistreated, but through this movement of the Mexican Revolution, rescued them. So as a whole, it would not be wrong to say that Zapata, while entering peasant’s hut, showed the expression of enthusiasm that was portrayed by the peasants as they were waiting for this martyr, who was assassinated, This was because his growing popularity was a problem for those who were against those peasants, vulnerable to exploitation.
