Moe’s versus Chipotle
In today's world, companies are coming up with different and unique cuisine to attract millions of customers and have turned these cuisines into brands. These foods have their specialty regarding quality and quantity. Junk foods have also joined this competition and are running on the top of the food chart. Despite being unhealthy, junk foods are becoming compulsory food item that not only pleases the eyes but also tastes good. People believe that a bit of junk food can do no harm to their balanced diet and neglect the fact that this bit of junk food may have hazardous side effects and can ruin a person’s health. Chipotle and Moe's too are included in this chart of fast food which uses some of the Mexican ingredients and is famous food of American restaurants. Not so authentic Mexican food, the ubiquitous Chipotle has its largest competitor is in the market called Moe’s. It started in Georgia and has grown t over six hundred locations nationwide. Even though both, Chipotle and Moe’s appear to be similar but they are different in terms of taste, price, quality, and environment.
There has been a great debate over which burrito place is best and which one best stands out in the market but both have their pros and cons regarding the food they offer. Some are die-hard Chipotle fans while others hold a particular disdain for Moe's.
The first and foremost thing about a place is its environment because that’s what attracts customers as most people nowadays do not compromise on the ambiance of a restaurant. The interior of Moe’s place is casual, colorful and unlike chipotle which is located at every corner of the street, it does not have many branches at the same place but it greets costumers by saying “Welcome to Moe’s” and in this way it creates a welcoming environment along with free chips and salsa. It’s a comfortable place and the menu is full of cultural references. Chipotle’s interiors are always different and have an ultra-modern vibe but lack creativity and a unique atmosphere. When it comes to food, Moe does not state their ingredients that where they come from but Chipotle clearly states its ingredients and its nutritional values. Moe’s offers a wide variety of food including burritos, quesadillas, burrito bowls, tacos, salads, nachos and stack in its menu. It also has a Coca-Cola freestyle machine with many other drink options. The toppings Moe's offers including grilled mushrooms and onions, olives, fresh jalapenos, diced onions, diced tomatoes, and cucumbers are not offered by any other restaurants. Moe’s also has a variety of sauces like hard rock and roll sauce, southwest vinaigrette dressing and southwest ranch dressing ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"TFT1KUxQ","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(writer)","plainCitation":"(writer)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":47,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/RBNYwj78/items/M988TCQR"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/RBNYwj78/items/M988TCQR"],"itemData":{"id":47,"type":"webpage","title":"A comparison of Moe’s, Chipotle and Qdoba: Which one takes the taco?","container-title":"Collegiate Times","abstract":"Qdoba, Chipotle and Moe’s each serve an assortment of delicious Mexican fast food, but despite the similar cuisine, each restaurant has its perks and deficits. The real question is which","URL":"http://www.collegiatetimes.com/lifestyles/a-comparison-of-moe-s-chipotle-and-qdoba-which-one/article_27296050-69e6-11e9-a2a1-bf9272b5f6bb.html","title-short":"A comparison of Moe’s, Chipotle and Qdoba","language":"en","author":[{"family":"writer","given":"Sameera Sunkara","suffix":"lifestyles staff"}],"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",11,16]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (writer). The food Chipotle offers are quite simple including burritos, tacos, and burrito bowls. It does not have many toppings and is limited to sour cream, fajita veggies, lettuce, and cheese but the good thing about Chipotle is it has brown rice options in its menu which Moe’s does not have. The restaurant has started to serve queso but it does taste as good as it does in Moe’s.
So the food varieties Moe’s offer to its customers are larger than Chipotle. Next in the list are the prices of foods in these restaurants. In terms of price, Moe's is the expensive one while chipotle gives cheapest food items like the average cost of a burrito bowl a chipotle is cheaper than the burrito bowl in Moe's. Chipotle's tacos come in a set of three pieces and are less expensive than Moe's tacos that come in singles. The chips at Moe’s are not good as compared to chips at Chipotle because they have almost no last in them and are dry while Chipotle’s chips are fried fresh and are in-store daily with a taste of lime. But Moe’s takes the lead again in terms of Steak. It is moist and extremely flavorful and way better than Chipotle’s steak. In terms of quality, Moe's burritos are compact and hold good rice-meat-beans in them while Chipotle's burritos are overstuffed with rice but unlike Moe's burritos, they spill out pretty easily along with fresh salsas and veggies. Chipotle’s rice burrito is dense with fresh-looking salsas and lime rice. The tacos in Chipotle are overstuffed and are messier than tacos in Moe's which is a blessing and a curse at the same time. The Chipotle's guacamole is smoother and not chunky with sweet onions and buttery taste. It has the balanced flavors and pairs its guacamole with chips made fresh daily. But the guacamole in Moe’s is heavier, confusingly vibrant with tangy red onions. Because of the size, freshness and overall taste, Chipotle stands out.
It is important to understand the health benefits of both foods as they play an important role in building our body. Overall, both are affordable, healthy and delicious. People of all age groups can enjoy the food they provide. Both have their differences regarding prices, food quality, and environment and it depends on people what kind of food they like to eat as both offer amazing deals.
