Police brutality

Antwon Rose a 17-years old male was killed by police in June 2018 at Pittsburgh. Antwon was a black teenager and high-school student who was running away from a vehicle during a traffic stop. The police officer shot the boy three times without any reason. The case reflects the imposition of third-degree murder and a sentence for a period of 20 to 40 years. The cases of police brutality on African-American citizens depicts the need for adopting strict policy measures. The protestants at Pittsburgh demanded justice for the killing of the young boy. It raised many questions about the credibility and investigations on police brutality. The APA suggested a proposal for eliminating police brutalities such as by minimizing police encounters with black youth and strict punishments for using force. The program emphasized on establishing a coalition between the socialist platform and economic justice CITATION Ali181 \l 1033 (Salvadeo).

The common measures that can remove police brutality include; minimizing their encounter with black youth, imposing strict punishments like sentencing and termination from duty and making a search without a warrant as unlawful. The program also stresses on providing awareness to the black population about adopting the right course of action such as filing a complaint against the officer and demanding justice. Similarly, by convicting the killer cops the state could discourage police brutality.
