Martin Luther King is a social activist who is known for his contribution to the Civil Rights Movement. His literature and essays have left a remarkable impression on the audience. Martin Luther King Jr championed the cause of justice and civil rights on the various ground such as he mentioned that Birmingham was the most segregated city in the United States (King, 1). His tone was provocative at times as he wanted everyone to take direct action for civil rights in America, and he explained it with his rationale (King, 2). Furthermore, he condemned the brutality of the police force on peaceful demonstrators (King, 5) and expressed his anger over the heinous use of authority.

Thus, Letter from Birmingham Jail became a significant piece of writing in the historic Civil Rights Movement in America. This essay or originally a letter invited priests or people to tread the path of justice. He advocated direct action against the evil of injustice as he considered no one could be an outsider in this precarious social problem.
