I belong to a family where nobody understands the importance of education. I am the very first person in my family to successfully graduate high school, which also makes me the first person in my family to attend college. My both parents are high school dropouts, and as they have limited education they only get a job in entry-level positions, they hardly make both ends meet. Since it is very hard for our family to put food on the table, I am always pressurized to leave my education and get multiple jobs instead.

I never agree with my family on leaving education behind. I know how much significant it is for everyone, how it changes one’s life and it is like a treasure to me that I deserve to get. I am all into continuing my studies, and I have been working as a waitress and working so hard just to collect money to take admission into college for years, but I couldn’t gather the good amount, and still, I cannot afford it. But when I heard about scholarship program of Perimeter College, I knew there is still hope for me, and I can still conquer my dreams.

I apparently cannot afford my college expenses; I need funding for college tuition, supplies, books, transportation to campus. I believe getting education will change my life and I will lessen the burden of my family.

I am not giving up, and I believe like everyone else I deserve to get an education too, that is why I am requesting for scholarship. I cannot afford costly student loans because it’ll take years to repay. This scholarship means everything in my life. I hope you’ll consider me.
