Beautiful Brain
In the “Beautifull Brain” by David Dobbs, he explains how teenagers choose to act the way they do. He points out that the dark forces have been pointed to cause effects on the teenagers. Aristotle concluded that the youth are affected by Nature compared to how the men are affected by wine. Feud viewed adolescent as the expression of the torturous conflict of the psychology. Researches have also developed the brain imaging technology that permits them to see the brain in detail for tracking both the activities patterns and physical development. The imaging tool showed that the human brain takes much longer to develop compared to how we imagine. I believe the revelation showed the unflattering and simplistic explanation as to why the teens have the problematic behavior. Additional research conducted on the youthful people indicated that the brain goes through reorganization between the ages of twelve and twenty-five. The brain is not involved in any development during this period. I believe that this revelation is shocking to most people because people tend to assume that youth behavior tends to be difficult because of a stage of development. David Dobbs stated that the brain reaches 90% of its full size when an individual reaches six years of age, and the thickening of the skull happens afterward. However when the individual moves toward adolescent the brain undertakes intensive remodeling through resemble and wiring advancement. First, the axons of the brain tend to gradually become insulated with the fatty substance that is referred to as the mylin — ultimately improving the transmission speed of the axons to over hundreds of times. At the same time, the dendrites utilize the signals from the axons that are nearby to grow further, and the synapse increases stronger and more prosperous while synapses that are utilized starts to weaken. Finally, all these changes make the brain sophisticated and faster organ.
