Q1:
The first indicator of attainment is the application of engineering and science fundamentals for analysis, interpretation investigation and finding a solution for complex problems. It requires engagement with the particular discipline of engineering at the phenomenological level. At the end of the placement, I am now able to understand and explain this indicator of attainment.
Q 2:
Through a number of physical processes and operational practices during a 6-month placement working on Cobot Omron project, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of programming used in training machine learning models of collaborative robots. Apart from that, I have acquired a thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts of robotics and algorithms of Artificial intelligence.

The third indicator is about developing and applying fluently interpretation, investigation analysis, characterization, self-assessment evaluation, modeling, decision making, knowledge management, and techniques related to engineering discipline and communication tools. At the end of 6 months internship, I am now able to clearly understand and explain the requirements of this indicator of achievement.

By using technical knowledge and implementing a computer-based solution to solve and understand deep-learning and machine learning models in the development of collaborative robots, I have now acquired a thorough understanding of the required skills which are necessary to become a successful engineer in this field. After getting experience working in the Cobot Omron programming project, I am skilled in implementation and practice in more than one skill.

At the termination of placement, I have acquired a thorough understanding of the concepts and implementation of machine learning models used at the backend of the collaborative robots and also about the sensors and safety laser scanner. Safety laser scanners are very important in order to guarantee cobot’s reliable positions and also serve to protect the workers and engineers nearby. Specific installation and usage methods are to be adapted to use and adjust the laser scanner in a cobot.

During the placement, we have learned about a lot of beneficial and outstanding features of the cobot product including play software and intuitive plug, safety software interface, safety compliances, payload and reference point the use of safety laser scanner for easy setup. This indicator of attainment focuses on the methods used for implementing engineering designs and some factors affecting the discipline of engineering. I learned the practical implementation and application of engineering principles. Moreover, I also identified the impact (both positive and negative) of the engineering systems on the people in the contexts of their operation. These contexts can be political, cultural, social, commercial, or environmental. I have completely understood and able to explain the issues of the current engineering practices, along with the capabilities, roles, and structure of the engineers. I also learned about the basics of business management

During 6 months of completion in working in the Cobot Omron programming project, I have been working to understand and explain the basics of enterprise and business management. EPM (Engineering Project Management) enabled me to develop an insight into the managerial aspects of the business. The reason for this experience is the fact that we were exposed to real-life practical situations of national and also at sometimes on a global scale.

This indicator of attainment provided me with an opportunity to understand the norms, principles, and scope of the stable engineering practices in the particular discipline. Along with the understanding of the principles, I also learned about the management of risk and health. Through my practice and understanding, I believe that I am now able to implement the basic principles of management while working on engineering projects.

I have learned the efficient use of Australian standards during my participation in the structural analysis of the design of Cobots. I attained an understanding of the structural importance of the standards and also how to apply those standards in my field of interest. This is possible because I have been working for local government related to compliance with standards and codes related to the engineering discipline. The Engineering Project Management also included a curriculum for analyzing the risk and safety measures and it was mandatory to make a report and send it to the upper management to keep them aware in this regard. The active involvement in all these activities and has allowed me to sharpen my skills in a variety of project management aspects and also to see how contractors deal with the situations when a project is assigned to them.

This indicator of attainment is about the application of already developed engineering methods to solve complex engineering problems. I analyzed the current issues (related to uncertainty, imprecise measurements, etc.), overall performance, and the applications of the engineering principles. I also did the critical analysis of the current engineering practices and discussed the alternatives of engineering approaches in different applications.

The completion of my placement, as well as involvement in practices including assessing and analyzing the performance of the collaborative robots and working with software engineers, helped me a lot in my career. These activities were not only relevant to my interest but also had a hugely beneficial impact on my career with regard to providing a wholesome understanding and hand-on experience of the field. One big merit is related to the fact that all the tech giant are working and researching in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence, that means this experience may become a reason for getting a better job in the relevant industry.

In this indicator of attainment, I understood the effective application of the tools, resources, and techniques of engineering to solve modern problems. I successfully performed different tests in the laboratory and implemented some experimental procedures relevant to the engineering domain. I understood the importance of management (systematic and quality) while doing engineering practices.

Owing to the completion of six months internship, I am capable of identifying components and material required in a related project as well as identifying the appropriate design techniques and AI algorithms depending upon the requirement. The experience is also helpful for me in dealing with contractors in business relationships and contracts.

This indicator of attainment focuses on the methods of implementing the engineering design processes. I have developed a good understanding of the synthesis of systems engineering to solve real-world problems at the client and. I also learned the ways to deal with clients in multiple contexts such as environmental, social, political, legal, and cultural. I studied the whole procedure of designing an engineering system, considering the modern requirements and the demands of clients.

During my placement, I have come to understand the design requirements of deep learning mode and related software implications. Also, I have acquired an extensive experience oh how to develop the product in order to make it user-friendly by making a good user interface and understanding the concept of user experience.

This indicator of attainment particularly focuses on the management and overall conduct of the engineering projects. I consider myself skilled and able to implement effective management strategies while performing any engineering practices. The main features of project management include planning and implementation. For carrying out a project successfully, one must predict the precise time frame and the number of resources required to complete the project.

The working in the projects related to robotics especially in cobots requires a highly systematic and organized approach. We had to make sure that process including research, development, testing, and implementation of the project are operated and carried out in a correct sequence. Also, it enabled me to scale and scope the required effort needed to complete a task at the desired time and with available resources.

This indicator of attainment focuses on the importance of the application of ethical norms and values while doing engineering projects. Communication is a key thing to carry out an engineering project successfully and effectively. Engineers, most of the time have to take notes of certain things or record measurements/data while doing projects. Also, they may face situations in which they have to communicate with other engineers about the findings of the experiment. I consider myself skilled in communicating effectively with my colleagues.

During my internship, I had to give presentations on a weekly basis about the performance and working of the project. This is proven to be very beneficial in developing oral and written communication skills that are required for improvement and impactful development in any profession. Also, providing summaries and reports about the requirements and progress to upper management has allowed me to improve my technical writing skills.

This indicator of attainment focuses on the management and professional utilization of credible information. While working on an engineering project, there can be many confidential things. For example, the methodology of a particular experiment, process, etc. I understood the sensitivity of this aspect and consider myself being able to manage the relevant information properly.

The effective use of Information management is essential in any organization. In six months, internship, I have used Management Information Systems for collecting, gathering, storing and sharing of data for the dedicated and desired purposes. The special MIS system used during our project was TRIM. This helped me to learn different protocols related to sensitive information and about the security of the company’s data.

Through this internship, I am now able to effectively lead a group of engineers (belonging to different domains), in order to carry out a project successfully.

One of the most significant attainment during 6 months of internship is developing strong team membership and team leadership qualities. I learned a lot while working in teams and interacting with my leadership and upper management. In fact, a professional network is a key skill one must develop in a professional environment because it leads to opening more doors of success and opportunities.
