The sign-up process required verification through email and phone number, and also the staff was restricted to verify their allowed access through biometric verification. These steps were essential to maintain the security and confidentiality of patients data.
Through this implementation of great change, the healthcare staff became able to maintain appointment schedules of the patients and could keep track of patients health to maintain the quality of services. For example, the patients were called or emailed regarding their appointment schedules with the doctors. Also, the doctors had to set the prescription on their laptops, and send them directly to the pharmacy management with patients code. This proved to be highly effective in reducing the mistakes related to purchasing of prescribed medicines.
Though, the implementation of IT system in the organization took more than six months (three months for the purchasing and installation and three months for the training of healthcare staff to use the IT system effectively and carefully to keep the patients data safe and secure). However, after the implementation, the organization got very positive feedback from the patients regarding the quality of services, better communication, and effective guidance regarding healthcare issues to the patients.
