Heaven and Earth: An Analysis
Very often we find ourselves thinking that what might the heaven look like. This is the question that the Bible does not give enough time to. However, this does not mean that the Bible is silent on the project. God has described the Garden of Eden. There are accounts in which Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden and enjoyed its bounty. This made sure that the Heaven and Earth coexisted. This changed after the Fall of Man.
Then we find accounts in the Bible that talk about Christ bring Heaven down to meet Earth. In Matthew 3:1-2, the Bible quotes John the Baptist saying that "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." So, the coming of Christ on this earth brought Heaven with him and created a permanent access point between Earth and Heaven, even after the people ruthlessly crucified Him. This stopped the process of unity of Heaven and Earth, but a certain overlap continues to exist, thanks to the ultimate sacrifice of Christ.
We see throughout the Bible that Earth and Heaven will be complete when Christ is brought back together and once again, both the realms will continue to coexist after Earth and Heaven are united. So, the question about the existence of Heaven has only one answer, that is yes. Not only that, we are interacting with Heaven every single moment. The unity will only be complete if we die and go to Heaven or if Christ arrives again and completely unites Heaven and Earth. If before that, we have to do our part in making this existing bond of overlap stronger as we wait for the final unity to begin. This is, after all, the road to all permanent salvation, the one we cannot exist without.
