Discussion
There is a debate remains between the people whether leadership is linked more with nature or nurture. My personal opinion is that leaders are born and they are not made. Various traits come naturally in the individuals who make them capable of being a great leader. However, some traits of leaders are enhanced, improved, or develop through training and practice. Leaders are identified through their characteristics like attitude, power, management, and experience ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"9xZ1Zgkv","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Yousuf)","plainCitation":"(Yousuf)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":1454,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/mlRB1JqV/items/66Z2AL7V"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/mlRB1JqV/items/66Z2AL7V"],"itemData":{"id":1454,"type":"article-journal","title":"Leadership theory and practice 7th peter g. northouse","source":"www.academia.edu","abstract":"ebooks","URL":"https://www.academia.edu/34987356/Leadership_theory_and_practice_7th_peter_g._northouse","language":"en","author":[{"family":"Yousuf","given":"Taib"}],"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",10,14]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Yousuf). Leaders are the product of nature because most of these characteristics are linked to the trait approach. For instance, individuals with self-confidence, intelligent mind, sociability, emotional intelligence, integrity, and self-determination are mostly capable of being leaders. Environmental and genetic influence plays an important role to determine whether the person is capable of occupying leadership or not. Besides, individuals without their natural traits can consider skill, behavioural, situational approach to learning leadership ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"nyJ6A5ff","properties":{"formattedCitation":"({\\i{}Leadership})","plainCitation":"(Leadership)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":1452,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/mlRB1JqV/items/M84CCFRD"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/mlRB1JqV/items/M84CCFRD"],"itemData":{"id":1452,"type":"webpage","title":"Leadership: Nature or Nurture?","abstract":"Executives’ beliefs about leadership qualities can shape the perception and acceptance of leadership development efforts.","URL":"https://www.td.org/magazines/td-magazine/leadership-nature-or-nurture","title-short":"Leadership","accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",10,14]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Leadership). However, no one can tell whether an individual can achieve leadership power through these approaches or not because various no-leadership factors affect the learning power of the person. Therefore, it is correct to say that leadership is partly hereditary. This also indicates that nature plays a crucial role in the formation of a great leader. On the other hand, coaching and counselling can improve the skills of leadership, but a person should have some of the leadership characteristics naturally otherwise coaching can only provide a dummy who can follow the leadership roles rather than a person who can bring a change. Not all leaders behave in the same way, but they acquire attitude and power to influence people due to their strong self-belief ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"wfPPrxgv","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Boerma et al.)","plainCitation":"(Boerma et al.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":1451,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/mlRB1JqV/items/IHDLLD48"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/mlRB1JqV/items/IHDLLD48"],"itemData":{"id":1451,"type":"article-journal","title":"Point/Counterpoint: Are Outstanding Leaders Born or Made?","container-title":"American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education","volume":"81","issue":"3","source":"PubMed Central","abstract":"The question of whether outstanding leaders are born or made has been debated for years. There are numerous examples of historical figures that came naturally to leadership, while others developed their leadership skills through tenacity and experience. Nurture can help a leader to understand which skill is required at a particular time, but natural traits like intelligence and self-confidence enable them to make an effective decision on time.
