DISCUSSION RESPONSE TO AMANDA
Amanda’s post suggests that mandatory promotion and prevention of the healthcare coverage shall always remain central to the healthcare needs but they should be elective in nature. The health care coverage such as insurance reduces costs provides, effective diagnoses and timely treatment. This is a legislative extension towards healthcare policy towards the general population. It is a valuable service which ensures timely healthcare with high costs. However, it is largely criticized for states paternalistic compulsion for all the individuals to buy healthcare CITATION Edi4 \l 1033 (Editors, 4). Compelling the individuals to buy insurance or healthcare coverage which they cannot afford or do not want, does not warranty a good healthcare policy. It is also sought to be irrational by many critics who view penalizing the insurance coverage’s as an unjust process levied on the individuals. Moreover, if healthcare coverage’s are made mandatory, it shall be elective and affordable for the populace. The state shall maintain healthcare to its core while moving it from a mandate to a market where people are free to choose their plan on healthcare.
The individuals shall be free to choose from a variety of healthcare option which better suits them; the mandate increases the burden of tax on low and middle-income households.
The individuals shall be free to choose what they are buying as a notion of a free market economy. The insurance plans shall be mutually agreeable, and the beneficiaries shall be free to choose from healthcare programs they want to enrol for due to the relativity involved in the income and complexities of healthcare and needs to be required CITATION Pau16 \l 1033 (Hsieh, 2016). A policy alternative to states health management and reaching all within it could be increased in the subsidies by the state. As the Trump administration has introduced subsidies it is trying to prepare for better outcomes for all in regard to community health. In conclusion, I do not propose a complete termination of the healthcare promotion and prevention coverage initiative, but the freedom to choose what is appropriate to an individual’s health needs CITATION Wil12 \l 1033 (William D Saved, 2012). Therefore Institutionalizing healthcare instilled with the spirit of an elective and voluntary mechanism will reach the consumers in a more personalized and satisfactory manner.
