This is a controversial interview between Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein on November 20, 2019. Epstein and Prince Andrew have been friends for many years. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, gave an interview to the BBC about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier who committed suicide at the age of 66 in New York while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in a prison cell in Manhattan in August 2019. The 66-year-old businessman, whose friends named Prince Andrew, as well as Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, was arrested in July on charges of trafficking for sexual exploitation. According to investigators, from 2002 to 2005, Epstein exploited minor girls and paid them for sex. The billionaire himself did not admit his guilt. His death gave rise to numerous conspiracy theories about the organization of his murder by the American establishment (this, in turn, gave rise to new theories - for example, that “Russian trolls” spread rumors about the murder of a businessman).
Finally, Prince Andrew added that he did not regret his friendship with Epstein because of the “opportunities she provided” to learn more about trade and business. Answering a question about his regular stops at Epstein’s house in New York, the Duke of York explained to them that it seemed “convenient” and “ respectable ” to him. The prince specified only that he considers his visit to Epstein in 2010 a mistake - then they were photographed together with a businessman who was already tried for involving minors in prostitution
Analysis
The interview started with the explanation of interviewer and her condition by stating the reason of this interview . mostly questions are straight and open ended. Emily Maitlis explained Prince that they usually arrived to do interview regarding his work, duties or deeds, but this interview is really critical because it will be about his personal life and scandal attached to his reputation. It is expected that the that the subject (Prince Andrew) will talk and refute the claim of sexual relation with a minor. This should contain the pronoun "I", as it is he who is suspect. It must also contain a simple past tense verb ("didn't" or "did not") and it should be undoubtedly replying the accusation. The purpose of the interview was in fact to take the point of view of Prince Andrew. If he did not engage in sexual contact with the accuser, it should not be difficult to state.
Tone
The tone of this interviews seems very straight and serious. Both the interviewer and interviewee seriously replied however Prince Andrew’s tone shift from confusing to showing regret. He give a lot of pauses during his interview. In general, the prince does not regret his friendship with Epstein, since he told a lot about trade and business. He explained his regular stops at the financier’s house in New York by saying that they were “comfortable” and “respectable.”
Starting
This interview was arranged by BBC journalist. Om 17 November 2019. To reply first question he took around 23 seconds to reply it and answer is not satisfactory. And In reply to second question he just said Mm-hmm with out replying properly. In third question Emily Maitlis asked , how did you first become friends? How did you meet?
For the reply of this question he started the history back 20 years when he met Epstein and he took around 1 minute and 13 second to clarify his position. He realize that she was appealing, and this is somethings goes against him. He also said that it was not just partying with her it was something else and when Emily asked that was, she good friend and does he trust him? It was really an important question of this interview because it reveals the important concept of their relations.

Ending
Finally, Prince Andrew added that he did not regret his friendship with Epstein because of the “opportunities she provided” to learn more about trade and business. The most important side of all this is the victims, and very little has been said about them in this interview. They almost entirely ignored the "- The Guardian Gloria Allred, representing the interests of the five alleged victims Epstein in the United States. She added that the best solution for the prince would be to agree to an interrogation at the FBI and the Southern District of New York prosecutors, who are continuing to investigate Epstein’s case. The lawyer for the other five alleged victims, Lisa Bloom, told the same publication that the interview deeply disappointed her: “He has the right to refute the charges and defend himself. But where is his apology for being so closely associated with one of the most successful pedophiles in history? ” (Basiacummings, 2019)
Odd words
There are many odd words he use in his speech like he realizes about that straightforward shooting weekend, but this is really odd for royal family. “I’m uh, I’m an engaging person. I want to be able to engage, I want to find out, I want to learn’ this is also an example of instable statement. (Prince Andrew Newsnight interview)
Face work / expressions
The expressions are very important part of any interview because usually people show emotions through gesture posture or facial expression. Prince uses his hands that shows his regret.
Linguistic Disposition
Prince use the word "Mr. Epstein” that shows his respect towards her. He use many pronouns I this interview. The theme of everchanging blame endures here with the load positioned upon the dead; “he had the most extraordinary uh, ability to bring um, extraordinary people together”. He used a lot of “we”. (Prince Andrew Newsnight interview)
In addition to accusing others and by means of language defensible advanced analysis and examination, he depicts himself as being courageous for going to Epstein's mansion (Blog, 2019).This depiction can be a pointer of guilt.
