Terrorist
There is no comprehensive profile or appearance of a terrorist. The terrorists look like common people. If terrorists are among the crowd and intend to carry out a terror act, they may not be recognized by the public unless someone pays close attention to their activities. The terrorists may belong to any region, state, caste, and religion of the world. In other word, terrorists do not have special or unique features that distinguish them from non-terrorists. However, through overall body language and behavior, a terrorist may be recognized. If a person or a group of people appears to be in disguise, if they look extremely confused, check time frequently, tend to avoid security personnel and other people close by then the person or group is suspected of being a terrorist (Twemlow Sacco 2018). According to behavior studies, the eye blinking rate of terrorist is faster than other humans. Also, some experts say that the terrorists touch their faces excessively as compared to other people. In this context, these are signs of anxiety.
Several reasons drive a person terrorist. Economic circumstances, i.e., poverty or few employment opportunities create anger and frustration in an individual, and as a result, a person can be radicalized. The brainstorming of young people is one of the reasons behind religious terrorism. In this respect, religious extremists and hardliners often exploit people in the name of religion to carry out terrorist activities (Krueger, 2017). Lack of justice in society may lead an individual to become a terrorist. In this respect, when people are of the view that they would not get justice from the system, they pick weapons themselves to avenge for any injustice they underwent. Victims of terrorism develop the tendency to act violently, and in response to the events faced by them, they do not hesitate or fear to inflict harm to others. The foreign intervention or invasion in a country radicalizes the citizens of the state at the receiving end, and in anger, they may indulge in terrorist activities.
In order to protect ourselves from terrorists, we need to be cautious. We all should be careful about our surroundings, and if someone is carrying out suspicious activity, we should report that to Police (Twemlow Sacco 2018). Furthermore, in the crowd, if someone is looking suspicious, we need to alert the people around and bring this thing into the notice of any security official around. In our surroundings, if we observe that some person is getting radicalized, and they also possess weapons, then we should distance ourselves from that person, and inform Police about the matter.
