The world of science is making progress by leaps and bounds on a daily basis. In previous times, it was extremely difficult, and sometimes even painful, to resolve the issues that aroused in the daily life of the people. However, all thanks to the latest techniques of advancing science, it has become extremely convenient to communicate, travel and even fight with various dangerous diseases that were once untreatable. One of such dangerous and deadly diseases is HIV positive or AIDS.
AIDS is one of the most dangerous and deadly diseases in the world which are still incurable. HIV is responsible for talking almost 670000 to 130000 lives in the world, annually, which include 940000 people dying in 2017 only CITATION WHO19 \l 1033 (WHO). But thanks to science, there has been considerable progress in the research regarding HIV. A recent news article published in a science news journal, science daily, gives hope top the HIV positive patients and their families by providing the good news that “HIV eliminated from the genomes of living animals” CITATION Tem19 \l 1033 (TempleUniversityHealthSystems). This news article was published on July 2, 2019, in Science Daily, sourced from Temple University Health System.
The article broke the good news that researchers at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in collaboration with the scientist of the University of Nebraska have succeeded in removing replication-competent HIV-1 for the genomes of living animals. This very component is a major virus responsible for AIDS. The experts and scientist, participating in this research tried a new technique, different from the recently used methodology, ART (antiretroviral therapy). This proves to be a great success and achievement in the area of HIV and AIDS and has opened new avenues for scientists to work with more focus on the area of HIV. The researchers will soon start conducting experiments regarding this technique on humans.
