Description objective:
Observations in group
A small group was observed that contained kids of 3-5 years age. Sits alone and maintains distance from other kids even of his age. The boy is unable to communicate and hardly managed to speak few words. Takes interest in arts as he picked up colors and filled the shapes in the book with different colors. When teacher is teaching, the child appears to be lost and distracted.
The child is not interested to listen what the teacher is saying. He is distracted and observe the colored chart papers and posters in the classroom.
Free play
The child picks few toys and sits on the corner of the room. Does not engage with others in the play. Prefers to play alone and gets uncomfortable when another boy approaches.
Subjective interpretation
The analysis of the generation observations depicts that the child is facing difficulty to interact or collaborate with other kids. The examination of the behavior depicts that the child face difficulty in interacting with others. This is a sign of autistic spectrum disorder. Also his role in the classroom is non-existent. Deficit in communications reflects that he is undergoing some psychological issues. Social communication are missing which reflects that the child lack social skills. His discomfort in the presence of other kids also suggests his mental problem. Communication deficit is also apparent because the kid is not talking with others and also fails to establish eye contact with others.
The kid is also facing language problem because he is even unable to speak the simple sentence like ‘I like to play’. While kids of his age are proficient in speaking these sentences. This suggests some speech issues faced by the child.
Psychological problems are also observed as the child prefers to maintain distance from other children. He likes to play in isolation as he sits in the corner of the classroom. This reflects that the pattern of speech of the child is also odd because he hardly managed to speak only a few words in low sound. During rest of the time he is not speaking and maintains silence.
The subjective analysis of the child further reveals that he is restricted and exhibits difficulty in interacting with others. The behavior is repeated many times in the classroom such as during lecture and playing.
Low motivation is another problem observes because thee kid is not interested to learn what the teacher is telling. He is distracted from the objects in the environment. This again reflects his difficulty to concentrate on the lecture or anything. Lack of attention also suggests that the child is undergoing autistic problem.
During free time the child picks the coloring book and starts filling the shapes with the colors. This indicates that the kid has liking for the colors and the art. This is also one of the qualities of the autistic children. This also reflects a good learning trait of the kid and can be used for improving his understanding and learning.
The overall analysis of the kid reveals that he is undergoing autistic spectrum disorder. It depicts the need for giving he proper help through psychotherapy and counseling. He cannot integrate with other classmates and exhibits need for individual attention. The teacher needs to adopt different strategy for engaging him in the classroom activities.
