A leader is a person who has the skill of managing other people. He is the one who is elected or chosen to direct other people, tasks, and responsibilities in a group. A leader’s ability to perform such functions is due to the skills and abilities he possesses. The leadership traits of a leader are highly subjective and are evaluated by the people. Nonetheless, most of the leaders possess characteristics which offer them added benefit and help them in their leadership skills. A leader possesses certain traits such as Vision, High-Risk Orientation, Self-Confidence, Superb Communication Skills, and Action-oriented. This essay seeks to showcase how Steve Jobs is one of the great leader looking at his leadership qualities and traits.

Steve Jobs is a well-known name in the business industry as the CEO of Apple Inc. He is the leader in the field of a smartphone, personal computers, and entertainment as well. His success is often attributed to the leadership skills that he possesses, and one of the most appreciated leadership skill of him is the ability to have a strong vision. Vision is considered as one the most critical trail in leadership, and it is expected from the business leaders. Steve Job's vision of "computer for the rest of us" was the reason behind the revolution at Apple Inc. and as a result, Apple became an icon of American Business. The creative vision of Steve Jobs challenged his employees and drove them to act towards his vision. He knew the future of Apple, and he dreamt of it. His creative vision pushed the team toward the goals and helped them achieve the goals for Apple Inc. when he joined the company it had no vision, and the employees were motivated towards nothing.

Shortly as he came back to after, he stopped most of the production lines based on his long-term vision for the ability. In addition, he was able to convince others to direct them towards his vision. He focused on a few products and later he was able to put his company on the footsteps of success. Being a transformational leader, he was also able to make others do things in line with his own vision. His ability to convince others is also a gifted attribute. Based on his strong vision and ability to look into the future was the foundation on which the empire of the company was based.

Excellent communication skills are vitally important for a leader. As the leader has to repeatedly communicate with people effective communication skills are what makes a good leader great. To convey a message to the target audience in a persuasive manner is the key to the success of a leader. The successful leader gives attention to not only verbal communication but also the non-verbal communication and cues. Steve Jobs is titled as "The World's Most Inspiring Communicator” by Forbes. He is referred to the gifted communicator of the corporate world. One of the elements of his presentation and speeches is fun and humor which makes his sounds very interesting and captivates the interest of the audience.

He is known to have lightened up the stage by his persuasive communication and presentation skills. He is fantastic at communicating ideas. One proof of his communication skills is the success of Apple which is backed by his effective communication of vision and goals to his people. His presentation and communication skills are also captured in a book by Carmine Gallo. It is said that by his speech he doesn't sell products, but he sold dreams and inspired the best in his audience. He had the ability to speak with passion and communicate his ideas in an understandable way by storytelling and demonstration (Isaacson, 2012).

A leader needs to possess confidence in himself, and Steve Jobs highlighted how crucial it is, and it was self-confidence which enabled him, people, to trust in him, and they broke the barriers and Apple the most innovative corporation today. He told his people that they need not to afraid, and there have the capabilities to deliver. The self-confidence of Jobs enabled him to take the risk and to develop a strategy that enabled him to put Apple where it is today. He had the firm belief in what he was doing, and this confidence led him to the top. It is often declared as one of the core features of his success strategy. Though his life was full of failures, he never gave up and trusted his abilities, and hence his perseverance along with his confidence in himself drove him towards success.

Jobs had not only the ability to develop a vision but also made sure that he creates a higher purpose for the corporation. One of the significant quality of Jobs is the ability to inspire trust. His people trusted him and his vision and were excited. His passion for his company leads to the trust of his employees. In addition, employees knew that it was not his personal interest and even if he was nasty at some point of time his employees viewed these attributes in the context of his qualities.

Jobs had the attitude of risk-taking for his company. He had a belief in talking risks and sudden action. He is well known for his risk-taking attitude and taking a sudden decision if he believed that it was for the success of the company. He never gave up and tried new opportunities. Despite failing many times, he never stopped, and his risk-taking abilities took Apple to many other parts of the world, and the company is still enjoying the fruit of his risk-taking abilities. He was also known for his excellent sense of urgency, and this is something which gave him the competitive drive. He knew how to grab the opportunity at the moment and never waited until the right time.

His action-oriented attitude allowed Jobs to create innovative solutions for his company and produce cutting-edge products with modern technologies. For instance, many people felt that IPad would be waste but now it one of the most owned personal electronic product on the planet earth. He always acted with a sense of urgency and looked into the future, but it was a controlled agency which made him a successful leader.

In conclusion, it can be seen that the characteristics and leadership traits that Steve Jobs possessed played a vital role in the success of his corporation. His leadership traits are essential to be an effective leader in the modern world, especially in business and entrepreneurship. His leadership characteristics such as vision, high-risk orientation, self-confidence, superb communication skills, and being action-oriented put the company on the path of success. His innovation, as well as the capability to bring his ideas, come to life that seemed to have sufficed him in his career and life. He remains a personification of the proverb that some people are born leaders. However, he seems to have learned and developed the leadership skills and hence history will always remember him as the most inspiring and fantastic leader.
