The origin of Flamenco is not tracked exactly, and it is a debatable topic; however, it is generally accepted that Flamenco music originated during the 16th century in the southern province of Andalucia. This parched region of Southern province was the last Islamic stronghold, which was conquered by Christians during the year of 1492. Global Fusion or World Beat are also related to World fusion. These terms are general, which are used to represent cross-cultural musical collaborations. This collaboration is fused from Western pop with a combination of traditional and indigenous pop and folk.
The contribution of younger generation artists in the development of World fusion music is commendable. World fusion music is the collaboration of musicians from the west and local stars. These artists helped to bring world influential sounds, including Youssou N'Doura from Senegalese and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan from Pakistan. These younger generations contributed to bringing the world's attention towards pop styles residing in Brazil in front of international platforms. At the same time, these younger musicians used other cultural music as their part of the artistic palette. They also helped to raise Western Pop and their own cultures.
I believe that Western pop and Bollywood Filmi music and genre would make for a rewarding and successful collaboration because both types of music have contributed to representing the different cultures on international platforms. Western pop has been influential in the western world as well as the other corners of the world, and Bollywood filmi music is popular and successful collaboration because of its huge productions of music and broadcastings. These both also have contributed to representing popular pop and influential singers from all over the world. Furthermore, Bollywood Filmi music has given some of the popular singing stars and composers so far, whether it is Lata, Asha, Mohammed Rafi of AR Rahman.
African American Music
According to Ishmaer Reed, African American music started to emerge during the year of the 1890s. This music got spread among people tremendously with having an understanding of musical, cultural contexts. Africans were enslaved, and they were introduced to a new world; however, they later managed preservations of their culture. They preserved their culture through music, limited voices, dance, and limited voices, which they had. The major styles of African Americans that included blues, ragtime, jazz, blues soul, and rhythm, whereas, these had different musical ideas and contexts.
This music is considered to be sung by the slaves who were African, and these songs are referred to as the "Sorrow songs." The themes of blues song were bad luck, poverty, disappointing lifestyles, betrayal, drinking, love, and sex. During the 1920s, popular singers such as Bessie Smith, Mamie Smith, and Ma Rainey contributed to popularizing blues music on records. Sale of music records to African American audiences was initiated during the 1940s, and following the same, some of the popular musicians were discovered. McKinley Morganfield was discovered by popular folklorist Alan Lomax who traveled the Delta to collect and record music.
Ragtime is considered as a forerunner to jazz, however, genres are developed in different ways. This is referred to as sophisticated music, which is associated with a single piano. Syncopation is considered to be a common factor between Jazz and Ragtime. Jazz is played with a combination of many musicians and instruments. Ragtime was started during the 1800s, and this has no as such improvisation as this is in jazz.
Rhythm and Blues is the first style for Jump Blues, which originated from catch-all during 1949, and this was dedicated and recorded for the Black customers all over the market while Electric Blues is a combination of electric guitar and a standard instrument as well.
The 1960s and 1970s was the age of political awareness and protests. During these years, the soul moved to songs for awareness and protests, which is considered to be a secular form of Gospel. The reason for moving the soul to songs is the historical events in which popular artists got killed. This was initiated by Sam Cooke, who started to move into socio-political issues. James Brwon's music was a source to bring Funk style in front of other musicians.
Civil Rights Movement is the reason that brought Rap music.
