Manipulate Meme Response
The nexus of language has changed from conventional means of communicating into a digital culture that old folks may not comprehend. The internet has taken a new wave in communication whereby individuals choose to modify their ways of engagement, expression, and participation in different platforms. For instance, smileys are the new way of expressing one’s emotions while memes are used as a satirical way of sharing political news and other forms of updates. With more folks engaging in political activities through social media; one formal method of communicating ideologies that has gained popularity is the use of memes. This particular discourse is yet to be fully examined by legal systems. The internet has no formality that regulates the information spread through memes and due to this politics has been affected adversely.
Internet political memes are viral and send a particular message in the form of writing or through an image. When closely observed one may assume that it is a joke being passed through the meme but after looking at the memes closely, one may be shocked by the in-depth message put across. Multiple meanings are also exemplified in the discourse. The new generation is fast in passing memes through the use of multiple social media channels.1 Political memes of anger and frustration have been elusive to tightly controlled political governments. Without having a means of regulating the memes, the government feels that citizens have a powerful platform to criticize and spread the views about the administrators without any monitoring. Internet users have managed to obtain a vast political influence which when used can benefit regular citizens.
