TopicSocial media
OrganizationTopically
Specific PurposeI want my audience to understand what are Social media and the effects it can have on a youth.
I.INTRODUCTION
A.Attention getterUsing social media is one of the most common activities among todays youth. A recent survey in the United States shows that 51 of teens connect to their favorite social network at least once a day and that 22 of youth do so more than 10 times daily (Common Sense Media, 2015). Sites like Facebook, YouTube or Twitter, which has developed at a high speed in recent years, are highly popular with young people, especially because they offer them the opportunity to be entertained, but also to communicate with each other (Greenhow, 2011.)
B.RelevanceThis social media is this notion of social connection and interaction between Internet users. As I just started, and we should be aware of the things people face every day.
C.Credibility statementI have seen the related topic of social media in the articles and news. I have read and study about the causes and effects of social media in related books, journals, and newspapers.
D.Central ideaSocial media is to forge relationships, create a community, and connect with its audience. We cannot communicate on a social network as we communicate on any type of social media, it is important to listen as much as it is important to publish and converse.
E.Initial previewToday, Ill be talking to you about what is Social media, what causes it, and the effects it has on the body.
Transition to 1stmain pointFirst, lets talk about what is Social media.
II.Body
A.According toPediatrics, it seems that the use of social media would have a beneficial effect on children and adolescents by improving communication, social bonds, as well as technical skills.
Social media makes it possible to create and share information with a large audience, everyone can contribute. Social media includes, for example, blogs, forums, microblogs (Twitter) and other publishing networks, but also photo-sharing networks (Flickr) and videos (YouTube), social networks (Facebook), social networking sites, company (Linkedin), etc.
Social media can be a source of value for teens that experience some success. However, they are also exposed to the risk of comments making derision, personal attacks or even intimidation (Greenhow, 2011).
Transition to 2ndmain pointNow that weve talked about what is social media, now were going to talk about what may be the cause of it.
B.Scientists are still unsure of what specifically causes Social media however there are some things that are thought to be the cause of it.
1.The use of social media may, however, carry some risk, given the limited ability of some young people to self-regulate and their tendency to be influenced by peers.
2. According to the report, another risk for young social media users is cyberbullying, the phenomenon of using digital media to spread false, embarrassing or hostile information about others (OKeeffe and Clarke-Pearson, 2011) .
3.According to an American pediatrician, the use of social networks has important advantages. It reinforces in adolescents their level of social and family communication as well as technical values and knowledge. No policy or socialization approach can deviate completely from the use of social networks (OKeeffe, G. S., Clarke-Pearson, K. 2011).
Transition to 3rdmain pointNow that we ve discussed what social media is and what causes it, lets discuss the effects it can have on the body.
C. Social media is due to the fact that dependence on social networks causes a whole fan of positive and negative consequences, both for the person himself and for his relatives.
Firstly, from an emotional point of view, teenagers tend to say that social networks have a positive effect on their morale 25 feel less alone, 16 feel less depressed, 20 feel better self-confidence. Another group of adolescentswith low socio-emotional well-being are more likely to feel the negative effects of social media. In total, 13 of the adolescents interviewed were cyber-harassed (OKeeffe, G. S., Clarke-Pearson, 2011).
Secondly, very often abuse of social networks causes constant fatigue syndrome, as well as stress. Although scientists say that the possibilities of the human brain are almost endless, it still needs some rest. At least in order to process and structure the information received. When a person is constantly online, the information flow to the brain practically does not stop. From this, the brain is overloaded. Therefore, a person begins to feel constant fatigue and is in a stressful state (Greenhow, 2011).
Thirdly, a long stay in social networks over time causes informational dependence. The continuous receipt of pieces of information becomes a kind of habit for the brain, which is difficult to break from.
At last, overly active communication in social networks often leads to the loss of live communication skills. Perhaps this is the most obvious of the negative consequences of this harmful addiction. Constantly communicating on social networks, we very often lose the emotional component of our communication with friends and relatives(Rachel Ehmke, 2015).
III.Conclusion
A.Transition to ConclusionIn conclusion, you have learned about Social media and how it affects many lives.
B.Restate central ideaIn every way, social media are like flips of a coin. They have both good and bad sides and they have found people to prove to what extent they are indispensable to the common man.
C.Final summaryI have told you about what social media is, what causes it, and some of the effects it can have on youth.
D.Memorable closingAfter all this information, which can be overwhelming and very informative, so today, social media is the fastest and most reliable communication system for peoples daily lives.
