Why Artificial Intelligiance is Overrated
One thing that has really captured the imagination of the people at the moment is artificial intelligence (Dzitac & Bărbat, 2018). There are large numbers of people who are of the point of view that the artificial intelligence is going to bring about lots of positive changes in the people. There is fear among people that artificial intelligence is so good that it is going to replace human intelligence with the passage of time. Furthermore, there are people who tend to think that with the smarter algorism and the way artificial intelligence is used to work, it is going to ensure that the majority of the support functions that are performed at the level of the organizations are going to be done by the artificial intelligence programs as they are so sophisticated and have such a greater level of intellect (Dzitac & Bărbat, 2018). For instance, it is quite easy to comprehend that some of the support functions such as finance; accounts and legal are such that intelligence programs are going to be able to make sure that they would create results and provide answers that are as good as the human beings (Dzitac & Bărbat, 2018). The same goes for the engineering and construction where precision and accuracy is needed at the broader level and it is fair to assume that these intelligence programs are in the position to make sure that they would deliver the results (Arango et al. 2017). There are people who are hopeful or fearful, depending on what side of argument you are that tend to think that with the advent of the artificial intelligence is going to bring about massive disruptions in terms of the way overall functionality of the organization is going to change with the passage of time. Some people are of the impression that the amount of human resource that is going to be needed in the organization is going to be down by a fair bit. Thus at the overall level, people tend to think that the artificial intelligence is going to provide lot of answers to the problems that are faced by these people at the given point of time. What is common though that they seem to overestimate the potential of artificial intelligence to a great extent.
First thing that has to be noted about artificial intelligence is that at the basic level, these are human programs and at least some sort of instructions have to be provided to them to make them work. Even though these programs might have greater level of artificial intelligence and they might be making smart decisions, but the likelihood is quite low that these propogated have some sort of emotional intelligence ingrained into them. At the level of any organization, not only it is important to make sure that the right decisions are being made, it is also important to make sure that the decisions that are made are done in the manner that eventually are acceptable to every stakeholder in an organization (Arango et al. 2017). At the same time, it is very crucial to ensure that some sort of leeway is being made with regards to the public relations and other domains of the organizations are supposed to be taken care off due to the fact that an artificial intelligence program likely to be taking into account the basic emotions that go into any decision making. So this is another area that has to be kept in mind when any large scale decision is being made at the broader level to say the least. These artificial intelligence programs are supposed to work in a pre defined environment where all the variables are provided to them to reach to the right decision. The emotional resonance of each of the decision is something that goes beyond the artificial intelligence programs and thus at the moment in its current state this technology is a bit overrated (Arango et al. 2017).
