Abstract
Business management requires collection, processing, and storing data on large scales for many purposes. These goals are achieved by using Management Information Systems which are used as a location to complete these tasks. The Information Systems used these days are based on technology-related solutions to help the management and employees in rendering smooth execution of management processes. An efficient management system of a company is central to the development and progress of a company or organization which emphasizes the reliability and operational capability of the particular Information system. To overcome the problems and issues related to IS frameworks, many IS solutions are present which are implemented worldwide. Below, we will account for two of the IS solutions and will see how these solutions can bring improvement and reliability to the management systems.
In this assignment, Search engine optimization (SEO) is discussed as an IS technology solution. Search engine optimization is the process of making a search engine or a website popular by maximizing the number of visitors or users. The solution is based on a Content Management System (CMS) which deal with the maintenance and arrangement of the websites in order to improve the company business. To reach the maximum people and to provide them with authentic and useful information by making the website interesting and userfriendly, SEO techniques are applied. We will use some of the Search engine optimization techniques in order to fulfill the requirement of making the website of the aviation company efficient and userfriendly. There is an SEO ranking which classifies the websites based on their content, information, and popularity. The search engine Techniques used for the improvement of the overall Management Information System are as follows
Customization of tags and page titles according to standards and auto-populate the fields in the custom rules to automate the population of these fields.\
The effective use of drop-down options on each page based on their relevancy with the main idea or title. The use of a drop-down menu build in Javascript and Flash is not preferable rather use CSS.
The use of an SEO-friendly URL is very necessary. Two different URL’s for two different web pages is not a good practice, the problem which is observed very often while working with CMS.
Little to no use of frames because it gives a difficult time to the search engine in processing the information properly.
Pagination must be adjusted according to the world widely adopted standards.
Customization of the Alt tags is mandatory for the CMS because it has a direct impact on the pages which are linked to the website. These are some of the recommendations for making an SEO friendly website. Also, the implementation of the microformat data types is also very beneficial. These microformats include people, reviews, products, Events, Videos and Businesses, and Organizations. A good CMS based and SEO-friendly website has dramatic effects on the ranking of the website and also a bad SEO can result in killing the reputation of the company website.
There are rankings especially for the aviation websites which allocate the positions to the websites based on the number of search results. A website that fulfills all the necessary requirements of search engine optimization is very important for the overall reputation of the organization. This helps the company to attract more customers to access the website and get information about the company. A well established and user-friendly website will move more customers to take the company for air travel. This will ultimately result in business growth and better future prospects for the employees as well as higher management.
This solution is one of the best ways of promoting the business and services provided by the company. The main aspect of a website is the model which is followed to make sure that the data is placed appropriately and is user-friendly. A user must be able to access important information readily and without any effort. The possible weakness in a website can be the bad implementation of SEO standard requirements. The solution presented above is very helpful in determining the competitive advantage of the organization over others by attracting more customers. This will also result in increased overall performance and efficiency of the Aviation Company.
The second Management Information System solution is customer relationship management. CRM is a technology that is used for the management of the company, interactions, and relationships with the customers. The sole purpose and goal of customer relationships are to improve the business. The related system works by connection companies and organizations connected by the customers and buyers to ensure profitability. CRM system is a very famous tool and is used worldwide with the main focus on building trust and the relationship of organizations with individual people. These people include users of the service, customer's suppliers and colleagues. The use of CRM tools for our aviation company is very important and highly imperative because in the aviation business the data confidentiality is the key. CRM software designed for the aviation company is based on giving the user a high level of trustworthiness. It uses many tools that allow the users permission to view data of the company. Also, the ease of maintenance and the use of a single mechanism of data protection among the entire environment of data are the benefits of using CRM tools. CRM tool is also used by the company to streamline all the customer services and related activities.
One of the requirements of the aviation business is to throw out all the unnecessary and irrelevant steps to improve productivity and efficiency. This can be achieved by the use of CRM software as the solution by automating the entire process to facilitate controlling key business functions. These functions are mainly operation, cost, and maintenance. For achieving these missions, a dedicated system is not required because CRM can perform all the tasks with efficiency. The CRM tool is also compatible with smartphones so it is very easy for the customers to access and use the software anywhere and anytime. The challenge in the use of CRM is the nature of the aviation business. In the aviation business, quite a number of functions are performed in different parts of the world which is a challenge for the system to impart adaptability accordingly. It is a cumbersome task for the management portals to incorporate the use of different currencies. The task, however, can easily be achieved by the use of a CRM tool as a solution to the Management Information System.
The improvement in the service and customer care by the user of the CRM tool is also beneficial by the retail vendors. The increase in overall revenue is beneficial for all the parties which are working in partnership. Also, the overall increase in company income is responsible for better and bright future prospects for the employees. The effective use of CRM tools and mechanisms ensures success and advantages over the competitors which are offering mild services. A more strong and trustworthy relationship with the customers by the use of technology is quite an influential strategy which a company must adopt. These steps are promising to effect positively in organizational performance and also result in the overall operational efficiency and quality.
Conclusion
The use of SEO to improve CMS of the company website and utilizing CRM (Customer Relationship Management) is very useful for the organization in assessing several key performance indicators and managing records of the employee. The company is expected to experience a big rise if these technology solutions are implemented properly and efficiently. The use of these technology solutions has now become a necessity to maintain and manage the systems. One concern about the website is its security management as the cyber-attacks are in full swing these days. Websites can either be hosted on the company’s own servers or cloud services can be adapted. To overcome the security concern, it is advisable to host the website on trusted and authentic cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS). The second option is to hire security analysts are create a department of Security Operation Center (SOC) but this is too costly because security services offered by the remote service providers are cost-effective and reliable too.
